I can't believe it has been almost 10 DAYS since the application process started and we still haven't reached 20,000 applicants!!!:confused3

I'm somewhat surprised too....

I'm also surprised that there is not much buzz around the boards about it. Last year the waiting thread had constant activity...this year we don't really have an official waiting thread, or any real idea of how many DIS'rs applied.

Anyhow - Julie I'm glad you "lucked" out, although that term just doesn't seem appropriate for the situation. I hope your power comes back soon!

Congrats Jennifer! - I assume he's here by now???

Not yet...she posted this on the podcast thread yesterday at 4:26 p.m. (she had trouble getting a bed):

I'm so upset I just can't believe this. Thank you everyone for your well wishes and words of support.

I'm home now and going to try again tomorrow (even though it's a different doc on call). On the positive side, I have been contracting a lot today and walked my local mall. I've even researched reflexology to stimulate labor.

I don't think I'll be in chat, I can barely talk to my own mom about it, I just get so upset. I know he'll come when he's ready, but I can't shake the feeling that he is REALLY BIG.

Until tomorrow...............

BUT, here is what she posted today at 5:38 a.m.!

got a bed.... going in!

Good luck, Jennifer!!

Hi there, New to this board, but enjoying every minute...
Anyway, I am surprised, too. But, I guess if they don't get 20,000, the positive news is our chances are better!:yay: Well, happy waiting! Have a great day.

Welcome to all the new faces! Speaking of new faces, I hope to hear about a new bouncing baby real soon!!!!!

Here is a thread I found you all through...

http://www.disboards.com/showthread.php?t=1925790

It is a poll and thread about waiting for replies and who applied, but it is not too busy on a daily basis.

HOW can we find out if they reached thier quota of 20,000? How do you know that or any other info about it?

Lori

Hello all! I discovered this great board just a short time ago and have been killing time since applying reading all of it! Now I am all caught up and thought I would introduce myself instead of just lurking... Jamie here, in major need of taking my mind about the status of the selection process, favorite "comfort" foods are potato soup, pasta, and hot tea. Loved the new DVC video, thanks for sharing! Julie, glad to hear you are safe and sound if in the dark, and wishing luck to DVCsince02 on her impending arrival.

Thanks for keeping me entertained folks!:wave2:

I am new to this board, too. I have enjoyed seeing all the posts...Happy Waiting to all the applicants!

:welcome: Tiggsntx/Allison!

:welcome: lori1043/Lori!

:welcome: everyone else who has joined in with our fun!

It's very nice to "meet" you all!

Yes!! Welcome to all of our "newbies," who have recently introduced themselves! :wave2: I'm sure there are plenty of people out there who still are cautiously lurking. (In fact, last year at this time, I was one of them...)

Why don't you come out and "play" while we wait and wait and wait...? :)

Fun! My family will have to try that one. :thumbsup2

The 50's Prime Time Cafe is sort of synonymous with "comfort food," huh? ::yes:: Oh, and I absolutely love the fried chicken at WDW Resort. (Add that to my ever-growing list of favorite comfort food. Mmmm! Fried chicken! :teeth: )

WDW's kiddie chicken fingers really aren't too shabby either. (I would know, because I've tried them... Hey! Sometimes you've 'gotta excise a little "Mommy Tax," especially during trick-or-treating!)

OH, MY GOSH!!!! Wait until I show my hubby this. This was one of his favorite foods from our honeymoon at WDW in 2002. He still talks about it! Thanks!

Have you tried 50's PTC meatloaf? Yummy!

My pleasure! I think I'm going to have to make that tonight!

OK, you talked me into it! I've been a "cautious lurker" for a while, so I guess it's time to finally say hello! Everyone on here seems really great, and a few of you have been kind enough to PM or e-mail me the Mickey Moms newsletter, since I don't get them in my e-mail, so thanks for that! Plus, these posts are MUCH nicer to read than all the political ones that seem to take up the CB lately!!!!!!:headache:

Like all of you, I'm anxiously waiting to find out who makes it to the next round. I was one of the ones who never heard anything last year, and it was very frustrating. I recently figured out that for some reason, when I log into my account at Disneyworld.com, my profile says I don't want to receive any e-mails from Disney. But, when I try to go in and update it, it never changes. There must be some glitch that keeps me from changing it. So, this year I got smart and signed up under a different user name with my gmail account, so hopefully I will get their e-mails this time!

Anyway, hello everyone and good luck!!!!!

We momentarily take a break from applications in order to

celebrate.

Well, someone must still be reading...while the rest of the Public Relations team is in NYC.

WE HAVE POWER and WATER!!!!!!
Thanks for all the well wishes. Things are still a bit crazy, cleaning, doing wash and dealing with the NASTY Fridge.:confused3 If you've never been through a storm like this I hope you don't. Gas is hard to find and people are running out of groceries in their homes, but none of the stores are open because MANY still don't have power. Enough about that.....

I see that you all have been busy while I was out. I will try to catch up ASAP, but now that things are getting back to normal I need to wash and pack for our trip to WDW next week.

Those of you running the race, how about those clues? Needless to say I have not been running like I should have, I hoping that the excitement of it all will help me through the race.
Take care and I'll check back later.

Jennifer, I hope your labor was an easy one. One of my friends compared the wind gusts of the storm to labor pains. The minute you thought your home would not stand any longer and that you made it through the huge gust of wind, you had about 45 sec. until another hit..... It's the waiting that gets to you.

Good for you! I was wondering how things were going. Best to you and your family--and an fast clean-up!
