Congrats Jennifer! - I assume he's here by now???
I can't believe it has been almost 10 DAYS since the application process started and we still haven't reached 20,000 applicants!!!![]()
I'm somewhat surprised too....
I'm also surprised that there is not much buzz around the boards about it. Last year the waiting thread had constant activity...this year we don't really have an official waiting thread, or any real idea of how many DIS'rs applied.
Anyhow - Julie I'm glad you "lucked" out, although that term just doesn't seem appropriate for the situation. I hope your power comes back soon!

Hello all! I discovered this great board just a short time ago and have been killing time since applying reading all of it! Now I am all caught up and thought I would introduce myself instead of just lurking... Jamie here, in major need of taking my mind about the status of the selection process, favorite "comfort" foods are potato soup, pasta, and hot tea. Loved the new DVC video, thanks for sharing! Julie, glad to hear you are safe and sound if in the dark, and wishing luck to DVCsince02 on her impending arrival.
Thanks for keeping me entertained folks!![]()
I am new to this board, too. I have enjoyed seeing all the posts...Happy Waiting to all the applicants!

everyone else who has joined in with our fun!
It's very nice to "meet" you all!
Yes!! Welcome to all of our "newbies," who have recently introduced themselves!I'm sure there are plenty of people out there who still are cautiously lurking. (In fact, last year at this time, I was one of them...)
Why don't you come out and "play" while we wait and wait and wait...?![]()
Most anytime other people cook for me is comfort food-no matter what it is!!! If I don't have to cook it, it is good!
This recipe from the 50's Prime Time Cafe always makes me happy!
P B & J Shake
Yield: 3 3/4 cups
Ingredients
1/4 cup creamy peanut butter
3 tablespoons grape jelly
1/4 cup milk
3 cups vanilla ice cream, softened
Method:
1. Combine peanut butter and jelly in a small bowl, mixing well.
2. Combine milk, ice cream, and peanut butter mixture in container of an electric blender.
3. Process mixture until smooth, stopping once to scrape down sides.

Fun! My family will have to try that one.![]()
The 50's Prime Time Cafe is sort of synonymous with "comfort food," huh?Oh, and I absolutely love the fried chicken at WDW Resort. (Add that to my ever-growing list of favorite comfort food. Mmmm! Fried chicken!
)
WDW's kiddie chicken fingers really aren't too shabby either. (I would know, because I've tried them... Hey! Sometimes you've 'gotta excise a little "Mommy Tax," especially during trick-or-treating!)
OH, MY GOSH!!!! Wait until I show my hubby this. This was one of his favorite foods from our honeymoon at WDW in 2002. He still talks about it! Thanks!

WE HAVE POWER and WATER!!!!!!
Thanks for all the well wishes. Things are still a bit crazy, cleaning, doing wash and dealing with the NASTY Fridge. If you've never been through a storm like this I hope you don't. Gas is hard to find and people are running out of groceries in their homes, but none of the stores are open because MANY still don't have power. Enough about that.....
I see that you all have been busy while I was out. I will try to catch up ASAP, but now that things are getting back to normal I need to wash and pack for our trip to WDW next week.
Those of you running the race, how about those clues? Needless to say I have not been running like I should have, I hoping that the excitement of it all will help me through the race.
Take care and I'll check back later.
Jennifer, I hope your labor was an easy one. One of my friends compared the wind gusts of the storm to labor pains. The minute you thought your home would not stand any longer and that you made it through the huge gust of wind, you had about 45 sec. until another hit..... It's the waiting that gets to you.
We momentarily take a break from applications in order to
celebrate.![]()
Well, someone must still be reading...while the rest of the Public Relations team is in NYC.
