Adventure Maiden Postponed?

I guess I can see the draw of being on an Inaugural cruise, but I have been cruising 45 years. The rule of thumb used to be not to sail on a new ship until it had been in service six months, and for a couple of months after a dry dock so bugs can be worked out. We sailed on the Sovereign of the Seas 8 months after it entered service and there were still some issues being worked out.

I am disappointed, but from a totally different perspective - we were expecting one of our favorite officers to be on the Destiny in March - but he said he was also going to be temporarily on the Adventure before the new posting. Therefore, unknown what his new schedule will be. Also recognize, anything else could have changed between when we saw him in the Summer and early next year, so we still could have missed him.

50% is great! I only received 20% when the Transatlantic was cancelled. Added my 10% PlaceHolder to make it 30%.

Still, not great news. . . . 🚢
I don’t think this time it is possible to combine with the placeholder:

‘The future cruise discount is not combinable with any other offers or discounts, and it cannot be combined with another future cruise discount.‘

Very much this. They can figure their contract will be X based on what it has been and then be told "We're putting you here to do Y for your next contract" so they really don't know 100% until they get those travel arrangements.

After reading the email it made be think of all those people who have booked flights, hotels, etc this has to be a real scramble for all those affected by this. Hopefully they are refundable or they are at least able to book something different and still have a great time.
Im one of those people

Thats great but there is no ship to sail on if everyone takes that advice. Ships cant sail for 6 months without passengers. We need the early passenger guinea pigs to take one for the team. And we should respect them for doing so. No salute them. For what they suffer through we gain.

I'm sorry for all of you that this affects negatively. I can only imagine what a bummer this is. :sad2: I hope you can make something positive out of it.

We were booked for the March 5-9 cruise, so just barely in the cancellation window. I'm trying to rebook for the March 19-23. Last night there was plenty of availability, but I had a glitch with the room selection and could not get it booked. Now this morning it says it is completely booked. Does anyone know if that is true, or if these cabins are on hold by Disney for some reason? We were able to book for early April, but I would rather go in March. Also, I am wondering what will happen with the Maiden Voyage cabins if some people who had a reservation are not able to keep it. Anyone know if there is a chance they would release those soon after the deadline on September 21?

I know you really needed that trip! I hope you can make it work in some way!
Im planning on going in April instead and instead of going on a second cruise, go on a trip to Hong Kong Disney during this year's Christmas season or February next year (Lunar New Year season). We shall see what happens. If flights were cheaper between here and Australia I would go on one of the Australia cruises before April to up my Castaway status (I need one more before gold, then the second cruise would be my first Gold cruise)

We are one of the cancelled sailings (over the winter holiday period) and extremely frustrated at how Disney has handled it. I’m skeptical they went from “everything is fine” to “actually we have to postpone for 3 months” in a few days…yet they took our final payment and opened up activity booking just a couple weeks ago.

Now they know they have cancelled it, but we can’t expect any formal cancellation or refund for as long as a month (?), and we have flights to Singapore (a city I love, but was already planning to spend 4 nights in) that can’t easily be modified or changed…we have about 1 year of already released sailings (best rooms already gone) that we need to reuse the discount during, AND others are reporting that Disney is telling them there are blackout days for the discount credit. This, of course, is all after seeing my kids’ crushed faces that they won’t be getting to try the new ship on our winter trip to Asia.

Going to try to call directly tomorrow, wish me luck.

Please post here if you find out whether there are blackout dates.
I called Disney yesterday and they said we could use the discount towards concierge and for any trip, didn’t mention blackout dates but I didn’t specifically ask.
