ADR System Upgrade - History

I am becoming less impressed and more disenchanted with Disney. I'm trying not to let it bother me but it is. I know system replacements can have delays and kinks but we are talking 2 months delay - basically double the time they planned on the system overhaul taking. Personally I thnk when the system comes back on line they should reset the "reservation window" so that except for CM CRT and V&A, all ADRS can only be made 90 days out. It makes more sense and then the mad rush won't happen. There will be a few more stacked up initially but March 22 is roughly 90 days from now or if they manage to get this system up by Jan 22 the 90 days would be roughly April 22. Anyway a 90 day window would ultimately work the same as the 180 but not be so far in advance (which really is a bit crazy even thou we all expect it now).

What frustrates me even more is no May hours....come on Disney that's only 4 months away...all the other parks have their hours up. MAJOR UGH!

I know!! I wish they'd either open up another month now (though I wouldn't be in that month, it would still help!) or stagger the dates when they open the new system. It is going to be CRAZY otherwise. Like, reserve your whole day, or morning at least, for just that!

I'm starting to think I need to make back-up itineraries in case I can't get what I want on the days I want! We're fairly flexible with times now that the kiddos are getting a bit older, but I still don't want dinner at 8:30 either.

I hear you! I think I'd be okay with a narrower ADR window if they would just give me the darn park hours. Our trip is 5/28 to 6/6. I make our ADRs for whatever park we are in on a given day. Without the park hours, it's hard for me to even plan my ADRs.

My plan was to have the trip completely planned out, adrs and all for Christmas. I ordered the 2009 dvd, customized maps, Mickey and Minnie shirts from Disney shopping, and have a blank spreadsheet that was dying for adrs to be entered on it. I was going to wrap all of it, and I know the adrs not being on there isn't a major catastophy, I just had it in my head how I wanted it to be. i feel like Disney pooped in my pixie dust:sad1:

OMG, you made my day!:lmao: :rotfl2: :rotfl: :rotfl2: :lmao:

Here's a very big beer for justamy!:drinking1

Subscribing... I'm waiting to be able to book ADRs for our Poly honeymoon - 5/17-5/23 (when we get on the Disney Magic and no longer have to worry about any of this ADR nonsense!). We've already booked the three we can - CRT, CM, and V&As - I'm grateful for those three, at least.

:lmao: That is the most TAG Fairy worthy comment I've seen in a long time... where is the TF when you need her/him? ;) I understand your frustration... perhaps you can fill it in as a "wish list" and hope that you get what you want?

and a merry christmas to programmers and those who decided this and not the summer would be a good time to update the reservation system.

yuck

I'm waiting for ADR's from March 29-April 6. All I know is I will be at WDW so when I get to my book my ADR's I will be happy but I'm not going to lose any sleep over it.

I tried to book CRT and CM for 06/20 and 06/23 but was told that you can't book CRT, CM and V & A for any dates after 06/19, lucky me!

Hey fellow Tribe fan!! (Go Grady!!) That really stinks! They really need to get something up and running. I'm waiting to make the rest of my ADR's, but at least I was able to get CM and CRT no problem at my 180 +10 mark. Hope it's up soon for you!

I am so frustrated about this. This is my first time purchasing the dining plan and it may be my last. I am also going in March and I hate not having plans.

Nicki, don't let it get to ya'. You have just been lucky enough to be going right when they are FINALLY putting in a better reservation system. All of us that have been doing Disney for years have had our share of issues with the old system. I'm sure that once they open this thing up and work out all the kinks we all will be much happier with it. I can tell ya that without reservations you would be VERY lucky to get into most of the Disney dining venues.
I've heard rumors of the system being put online sometime in the future. It may not be this one but sometime in the future we all should be able to make reservations online.

That would be nice. :surfweb: :dance3:

Hi Friends! :dance3:

I was just "chatting" online with CM.   and she said this, "specifically, I would check back the 2nd week in January." :confused3 Ok maybe she knows something, maybe she doesn't. Just wanted to share. :thumbsup2 Maybe the 2nd week in January :rotfl2:

:surfweb: I will just keep watching and waiting!

Disney is the only place on earth I would wait like this for! :goodvibes

This is my first post on the boards - and I would like to say all the information here on all the threads has been incredibly helpful. Wow!!

Called this morning to set up ADR's and got the same response as everyone else. Does anyone know why they didn't let the old system continue until they were actually ready to go with the new one? And what could be the problem with this new one? It's just very odd they would have caused all this confusion over a system that isn't working.

Thanks!

Gigi

I called 2-3 weeks ago and the automated thing said they were on March 22nd. I just called today and it said the same date. I got put on hold for awhile and will try back later but wondering if someone knows how far out they are.
Im looking to book an ADR for April.

I'm as anxious as anyone to make my ADRs (not going until late May), but I'd personally rather not make them until I know the park hours. I'm just hoping there's a little lead time between the time hours are published and the reservation window opens for my dates. I definitely feel for those of you who have your park hours and still can't make ADRs, but the extra time has given me a chance to take a deep breath and re-think some plans. There's too much going on with the holidays right now to worry about it :thumbsup2

Although this is frustrating, I just keep reminding myself that this year I didn't get my May 2008 reservations until February...and got my first choice & time on everything I wanted...including a Le Cellier dinner & Cali Grille on Saturday night of Memorial Weekend. So, there's hope:rolleyes1

Check out the sticky at the top of this page for all the up to date info on the ADRs, I was told when I called yesterday that March 22nd is the farthest they are booking right now and to call back in January to check on the other dates...
