ADR System Upgrade - History

Hello friends...

Dates beyond March 22nd have been loaded into our system. We received a message today that we cannot book anything past 3/22 as of yet but it looks like they may be getting ready to open the booking window. I'll update again as soon as I have news!

There has got to be more going on here than simple software issues. Why are there no May or June park hours? Why does the booking window end in late March? To me, pairing these issues with a tanking economy means that Disney is taking the more cautious path and using software issues to hide the fact that they are still planning what they are going to do in order to keep afloat. Booking numbers have got to be tanking. While I see this as a chance for WDW to shine as still offering a superior experience for the money, I am very worried that they are going to use this as an experiment to see how many of us will still come with fewer magical experiences offered. I would hate to see that continue as the norm.

There are rumors of temporary resorts closures, rolling daily park closures, more entertainment cutbacks, and so on. Honestly, I can't talk Corey into going back next year. The closure of PI is a big loss in terms of keeping us entertained. She loves to dance and I loved AC & the CW. 2010 is our next target date for a WDW vacation together. I hope they have something worked out to keep us entertained at night by then. I have plans to go solo in late April. I will be staying offsite for free on points at the Hilton. I have tickets leftover from our vacation. I was really hoping for a MP&PP on May 1st, but I have little hope that I will be so blessed right now.

I am hopeful that I will be able to book ADR's ASAP. I don't even want to think about the telephone and/or computer crash that is going to come when the flood gates open again.

Just to reconfirm the only mention of when the window would or would not open was deleted. DisneyDine only said she feels that the window may open soon because new dates have been entered in the old system.

What those dates are and when they will become available remains to be seen. She has generously offered to let us know when she knows so we can call at the right time, versus calling on a daily/hourly basis wondering if and when.

Please remember to keep this thread on topic and be nice to each other - this situation is frustrating for everyone.

I just want to be very clear. We don't need to have DisneyDine getting a bad rap among other CM's for telling the Disboards that the window will be opening when it isn't.

I agree DisneyDine is great for letting us in on what she knows.

What I think is wrong is the way Disney is stringing us along. Disney could come out with a statement that the reservations are going to be extended on a certain date. When that date comes they can either use the new system on that date or use an extension of the old and the customers would never know.

I'd assume that it won't open until a new window opens.

Also consider, there is so little general knowledge about ADR windows right now that people are easily getting CRT at 90 days right now. Meaning that reservations are much easier to get today than they have been in the past few years.

Yes I think May park hours would help greatly. My honeymoon trip is April 26th to May 3rd, so I can't plan the second half of my trip until the May park hours are released.

FYI- I was calling to make reservations for an upcoming trip and asked about adr's for our trip for March 22-April 2.......Hold on to your hats boys and girls, as I am the first to make the announcement. I WAS ABLE TO MAKE DINING RESERVATIONS FOR THE ENTIRE TRIP!!!

Disclaimer- couldn't book askerhus for some reason, but able to book the rest!!!
