ADR System Upgrade - History

Thanks for all of your updates. I was really hoping it would be today--I'm off work and have plenty of time to be on the phone! My 3/22 trip is getting closer every day--I can't believe I don't have all of my dining ressies. I wonder if this is hurting sales of the Dining packages? If something doesn't change soon--I'm starting to think we'll just skip the package.

I really don't know why they can't move on the booking window a couple of months. It is going to be horrendous when such a large number of people want to book.

So frustrating. CM said to call back in mid-January for an update, but that it may not open up until late Jan/early Feb!!!

I got in (was the cm's first caller) and she told me mid Jan. also. She also said that Disney released that information 3 weeks ago... Not sure where, but I didn't see that memo! Oh well, guess I can go back to bed too, this is so frustrating!

i was just told january 15th. wonder why he said that exact date. he wasn't exactly friendly either.

i don't see why they can't have a back up system to take down dates/times for people so it can be input when its up. i guess it would be impossible to arrange that but a big company like disney should have seen this coming or get better computer people!!

also, he told me they cannot go backwards. that confused me. my 180 days was yesterday, so i just thought i'd call today but he said the cut off date for june 19th adr's was 12-21 and the only adr he could make for me today would be for chef mickeys or hoop for june 20th, which i don't want. so the only day you can call is right on that 180 day.

Dear Angela,

Thank you for contacting the Walt Disney World Resort.

Due to system enhancements we are only able to book any dine reservations from now through March 22, 2009. We will have our full 180 day availability beginning December 22, 2008. The exceptions are Chef Mickey's, Cinderella's Royal Table, and Victoria and Albert's, these locations will continue to book 180 days out.

Called at my usual time at 6:59:43am. "We are not taking reservations until middle of January for anything after March 22nd. So Sorry."

I am so frustrated about this. This is my first time purchasing the dining plan and it may be my last. I am also going in March and I hate not having plans.

I think that the CM misspoke. CRT, CM and V&A are available up through June 19. This date/info was posted in a few Disney newsletters about a month - month and a half ago and was confirmed by a few CM's yesterday.

Everything else is up through March 22.

I would call back and speak with someone else-if you want chef mickeys, CRT or V&A and you hit your 180days you should be able to make any of those for your week (180+10) (if staying on prop)

thats what i thought too. i had never heard of this and i'm not exactly a newbie, lol
his exact words were "i can't go back in to my system for that date, it locks out after 180 days." i wanted chef mickeys for 6-14 and crt for 6-19. he said he can only book something for 6-20 today. is that right?

Nope, according to the information from yesterday they should be able to book those 'magic' three up through June 19.

I'd call back and get another CM.

That's another new rule then. I booked our April CRT ressie last month (at around 150 days out) without any problems.

Glad I checked here first before I called to try to book the rest of our ADR's. I really don't fancy spending a half hour of an international call on hold only to be told "Sorry - call back in a month!"

I just called and spoke with the NICEST Cast Member (Kelly R-D) I tried to book a Chef Mickey's for June 20. She was very knowledgeable and very sympathetic.

Before even going in she said "I believe they only loaded through June 19, but let me double check for you" She went into the system and checked and verified that June 19 is the last day. She said (and remember this is just her opinion) that the system was supposed to be ready by now, and that's why they only loaded through June 19. She also feels that there will be no more extensions until the new system is up and running, and she has no idea of when that will be. She suggested calling back mid January to check on it.

She was a doll, apologizing and saying that she understood how it is frustrating not being able to book your vacation. I expressed sympathy in return. The CM's jobs can't be easy since they are the ones that bear the guests frustrations, and they have nothing to do with the upgrade not being done yet.

Well thank goodness i called back! Thank you for that suggestion!

i just called and got exactly what i wanted for june 14th and 19th. She has no idea why "DON" would have told me those dates could not be booked. she kepting saying "oh my goodness, he is so misinformed". So i am feeling somewhat relieved now knowing i won't be shut out of my birthday dinners!

This is crazy. My honeymoon is coming 124 days away and I would like to get my ADRs booked. I'm sure many many more people are more anxious than I am with there vacation happening before me. DISNEY GET YOUR SYSTEM UP AND RUNNING!

The only bright side of this is that it gives me a chance to go over my ADRs and make some changes since DBF is coming now and he isn't as adventurous as I am.
