Well, so much for getting my ADR's booked before the end of the year. :headache: I am so glad that we decided against the DDP with this going on. We still want to make a few more ADR's, so we'll just keep a look out for updates.

This too is my first time using DDP, and i think i would rather eat counter services all week, then have to keep checking to see if the ADR's can be made yet.. I was so excited about using the DDP, but not so much now!:headache:

Well thank goodness i called back! Thank you for that suggestion!

i just called and got exactly what i wanted for june 14th and 19th. She has no idea why "DON" would have told me those dates could not be booked. she kepting saying "oh my goodness, he is so misinformed". So i am feeling somewhat relieved now knowing i won't be shut out of my birthday dinners!

Congrats Donna!!!! At least you got those set up. I can't believe this is the best Disney can come up with...

Well it doesn't surprise me that we aren't able to make our adr's.... darn it Disney don't they realize they are taking the fun away of making ressies... i don't even want to know what it's going to be like the day that we can finally make ressies....

Just wanted to add that I talked to Don last week as well and he told me the same story. That guy was clueless, I didn't have time to debate with him and called back later in the afternoon and got a Chef Mickey ressie with another CM who was so sweet.

Good luck to the rest of you!

i tried to tell him that didn't sound right but he insisted he was. i made sure i told the CM that helped me that the guy's name who is giving wrong info. is named Don. i don't know if he's in the same office as her or not. she said maybe he was new. if you ask me, he needs to go back and redo traditions. he wasn't even nice about it.

I got the recorded message today at 9:30 AM about dining reservations being limited to March 22nd 2009 for almost all of the Disney restaurants.

It would be so easier for Disney to put up a bulletin somewhere describing the reservation system availability each day, to stop the curiosity calling. Is there a place on Disney's own site that has a bulletin about the reservation system? They could easily share this information with DISBOARDS, MOUSESAVERS, etc. I am guessing they don't want to publicize the availability of the reservation system at this time?

I also spoke with Disney Vacation Club Member Services today and got a recommendation to call back no earlier than this Friday and next Monday to see if the restaurant reservations had opened up beyond March 22nd 2009.
They were trying to see if I wanted to add the Dining Plan to the Disney Vacation Club reservation, but I had to keep informing them I would only decide to do that when I got my restaurant reservations that I wanted confirmed. Otherwise the Dining Plan is useless to me if I can't get my choice reservations.

I got the DVC reservation, the airline tickets, now I wish I could complete the restaurant reservations. The sad thing is that I booked the airline reservations TOO SOON this time, as another airline slashed their prices to the lowest I have seen in the last few years. Now that is one reservation I wished I had WAITED for.

Happy Holidays Everyone, Phil.

I know! He was rude to me as well and kept acting like I was some dumb traveller who didn't know what I was talking about. He kept saying "you don't understand, the computer does not let me go backwards it can only make ressies on exactly 180 days out". Whatever!

Good luck getting your future ressies,
Kathy

omg, that is verbatim what he said to me! he must be reading from a script or something. it's not like he even TRIED to make them, he said it immediately when i told him what i wanted. i never even heard any clicks of a keyboard or anything. now the girl that DID help me, immediately told me it was possible without even checking! i guess thats why she was so astonished to hear that DON was so misinformed and misleading guests.
thanks, now that the two hardest are done, i should have no problem getting the others. we are there for two weeks but we only need most of the ADRs for the first week since that when family and friends are joining us.

The only bright side of this is that it gives me a chance to go over my ADRs and make some changes since DBF is coming now and he isn't as adventurous as I am.

I'm trying to think the same thing. I would have normally made all of our ADRs by now. The only problem is, I keep changing my mind.

We went to WDW this past August without the plan. For an entire week, we ate nothing but counter service (with the exception of one meal at Rose & Crown which we didn't like at all) foods. I have never ever been so tired of eating counter service foods. I'll hold out for the new dining system to open up.

My remaining list includes Le Cellier, Boma, Narcoosees, Raglan Road, and 50s PTC (I booked Chef Mickey's). If they don't open until late January it will only be about 70 days from my trip.
As long as I call right away and book LC, Narc. and Boma first, I should be fine, right?
This whole thing is making me nervous. I'm glad I didn't officially book the dining plan yet, but I want to try some new places this time and I'm worried we won't get them now if I have to fight 4 months worth of people trying to get ADRs on the same day.

Seriously is Disney going to be open in May?

Good question - they haven't posted park hours yet for May or June. I was trying to get park hours and EMH before we made decisions on where to eat and when. I also hear that the final list for exactly what restaurants are staying on the 2009 DDP is still a little unsure. I don't think there will be a big change but according to another thread, the final list has not yet been made public. The CM told me when I made our reservations that we could make ADR's after the 22nd. Guess we will just wait and see.....popcorn::

I just hope the system is up before my final payment is due so I can either downgrade to the CS DP or cancel all together if I can't get any ADR's.

I second you on this. It was so much fun deciding on where we would eat with my DD and now I worry that we won't get any of our choices. I'm considering cancelling our DDP because it won't be worth it. I'm new at this but I can't believe Disney didn't realize what an effect this would have on it's customers and would have better planned this out. Not a great first impression for me. :confused3

We're going in April too and I'm worried about what a madhouse the dining line is going to be when it finally opens up for ADRs past March 22. I wish they would stagger the release of dates. :goodvibes to all of us!

same thing here but i am for March. They didnt even give me a date of when i could make the ADR's, they just said January.

Do you know any specific dates?
