Where does HDDR fall? Is it booked at 90 days, or at 180 days? I would love to get a Cat 1 table, and would love to know the best way to go about trying to get one.

Everything is at 90 days except for the three mentioned above.

(Technically they should be at 90 days, but CM's seem to be ignoring this rule and are booking up through June 19)

Thanks for the answer!:)

So how do you get scheduled a table category? Does it go by the time of day you call, the day you call, or none of the above?

I was about to say this. If everyone is on the same playing field, what's the difference? :confused3

I agree 100%, as long as the playing field is level (and once all the cast members at WDW-DINE are properly trained to sing from the same hymn sheet!) then the actual length of the window is irrelevant. Personally I'd have suggested 60 days was a better length to be honest. But 180 days was always far too long - for one thing, you're never sure that the park hours will be out in time.

I do understand when people aren't sure whether they want to add the dining plan or not until they've actually got their restaurant bookings made, but what's the problem with signing up for the plan anyway, and then cancelling later if they can't for some reasons book the meals they want?

We have never used the DDP and probably never will. Too much of a pain and no matter how we add it, it just doesn't save us any $$$. Maybe if we eat 3x what we normally would on our trip it might save us a little.

Anyway, 90 days is fine. The biggest problem I had with the ADR issue was not being able to get a definite answer. Now I know I can call on 02/03 and I am very happy. I am just hoping the May hours are up when I call, just to verify my ADR against the park times etc.

Just got off the phone with dining and got everything at all the times I wanted, for Easter week (check in 9 April), including Le Cellier on the Saturday before Easter.

The CM was great--very nice and very efficient and at the end congratulated me for getting everything. I was a little concerned I'd be waiting forever because on the first call I got kicked to the survey after being on hold for 4 minutes and had to call back, but I waited only a minute or two the second time.

We got everything too. :thumbsup2

We arrive on 4/9 and I got what I wanted, the only change was I could not get 1900 ParkFare for Easter for the 7 of us, but I changed that to Monday and we are all set.

So all that worrying was for nothing....now I need to move on to something else to worry about.

Am I crazy or did I read that you now have to make your ADR's 90-days in advance rather than 180 days as it has been? I tried glancing through this site but didn't see any info about it. I might have read it on AllEars.

Thanks,
Jenny

It's now 90 days. Resort guests can book for up to 10 days beyond check-in, so they have up to 100 days.

Whats the difference of 180 or 90. If NO ONE can make an ADR until 180 or NO ONE can make an ADR until 90 its the same thing. Just call that morning when they open.

well, the difference IMO is that when the window is at 180 days you have very very few people calling the first day to make ADRs. So if you call right away, you are pretty much guaranteed that you will get exactly what you want. As you go down to 90 days, more and more people will have made plans and be ready to make ADRs. Not everybody, of course, but MORE. So while your odds of getting what you want if you call the first day are still very good, there WILL be more people calling.

My hope is that the playing field will be leveled off slightly because there will be fewer people making double bookings. At 90 days people will have a better idea of where they're going and will just book one dinner versus dinner and a backup.

One can only hope, right? :teeth:

Actually, Tricia I was just tweaking my ADR's...I get to call on January 24th. I had a couple of back-ups that are now gone. So I think your theory is right-on. :thumbsup2

Personally I like the 90 day....

I like the 90 day rule too for the exact reason Disney says they are doing it.

That being said, I am not looking forward to getting up at the crack of dawn to make that phone call in March, but a mom's gotta do what a mom's gotta do!

Thanks for the info about CRT and CM booking into mid June. I booked them both today :thumbsup2

I'm really confused!!:confused3 I am planning a trip in June with our whole family. I put our date in the ADR calculator, and the date it gave that I could call to make my ADRs was in the middle of Dec. When I called, they told me they were only taking ADrs through the end on of March. When can I call? i don't want to wait too long and then not get in anywhere. there are 9 of us and that's going to be challenging enough. Anybody got any ideas??

ADRs can only be made 90 days out now. There is a sticky post at the top of this forum explaining the details on a few exceptions (CRT, Chef Mickey's) -- but even those exceptions will be 90 days by the middle of June or late June.

That's about the only time that living in the UK gives us a big Disney advantage over being in the USA - on UK time, the booking office opens at a very pleasant 12:00 noon. :)

After sweating it out for 3 months, I finally got to call and I got everything and every time that I wanted! Thanks guys!:cool1:

Just double checking this...when I am 90 days out, I can make ADRs for my entire trip b/c I'm a resort guest. Is this right? I just want to make sure that the +10 doesn't mean I need to call 100 days out. Thanks!

You've got it right, it means that at 90 days you can make reservations for your entire trip.

If your trip isn't longer than 10 days, yes you can book everything at once.
