I'm guessing these are mostly small businesses that do this? I eat out quite a fair amount and get ranch on the side pretty frequently and I'd be annoyed if I ever got charged for it. Hasn't happened in my entire life. I guess I don't eat at places that do this.
I guess they are small. The big pizza chains here do it, but they are locally owned franchisees.

Haven't tried some of those restaurants, but love Momofuku, Eggslut and Jaleo. Cosmo is definitely where it's hoppin! Lots of good stuff there!

When we stayed at the Waldorf, we fell in love with it! We love that it has a great location (next to Cosmo), but it doesn't have all the crowds and casino traffic, so much easier getting to/from our room. It's nice and quiet but when we want action, we just walk outside. It's like a mini oasis in the middle of Vegas strip! Not to mention their Spa is sooooo frickin amazing!!! 😍 But because it doesn't have a casino many people would never want to stay there.
The Waldorf definitely has a nice property for sure!

I was doing some research and guess what comes up? My DIS board post on this from 10 years ago (almost to the day) comes up.

Pizza places aren't what I'm even talking about.

Most people have ranch in their fridge here so if you're getting pizza to go home just use that. Garlic sauce is a different story.

I'm just talking about your normal style places. Ranch and fries just go together, I like ranch as well for chicken wraps because rarely do I feel like there's enough ranch.

Chick-fil-A doesn't charge around here but they seem to put a 2 sauce per sandwich limit which is fine (they didn't use to limit before the pandemic)

Speaking of bags - has anyone bought from the Bradford Exchange?
I haven't but I looked at a lot of their Christmas stuff. My MIL offered to buy me an ornament couple years ago but I couldn't let her do it, it was almost $100 for ONE ornament. Too much!

try 20.5%-that's out the door sealed bottle. a drink in a bar is 13.7% PLUS the prevailing local sales tax so where i'm at-9.1%. your cocktail will run you base cost plus 22.8%

is in any wonder we make a run for the next state over with no sin tax and sales tax at 6%?🍸🍸🍸🍸🍸🍸🍸🍸🍸🍸🍸
OUCH!!! 😲🙀 That's not even reasonable!! I won't complain about our Spirits Sales Tax anymore! It's 20.5% when you buy most liquor by the bottle.

Having to buy trash bags was so painful
Tell me about it!! Can't agree more!

things changed when it privatized but on the flip side we are no longer limited to state run stores that close early.
Liquor stores here used to be ran/controlled by the state as well. It was so painful if you ever had a party on Sunday, especially for Football, and you ran out of booze because no liquor stores were allowed to open on Sundays, NONE!

Now Mon Ami Gabi is still a must for breakfast every time, dessert is good too

Really we joke but we got to Vegas primarily for food and ambiance. We gamble a tad but just a wee bit. My husband is video poker stadium black jack and I'm slot machines..so naturally I either win the money for us or lose it :rotfl:
I love Mon Ami Gabi for brunch! Great views on the paito of the Bellagio fountain and people watching!

We treat our visits in Vegas like we prioritize at Disney - food and luxuriating at the resorts or parks. We do some gambling, catch some shows,
Love that! As you should it's your vacation! Treat yo'self! 🤭 We are foodies so food and some pampering (spa) are the main reasons we go to Vegas. Some shows if they look interesting and some gambling. We are chickens so we do slots only! LOL!

It has taken me three hours to binge read this thread before it’s deleted like the reedy creek one that exploded in posts and was deleted before I got to read it.
You got some dedication!👏 AND you're able to chime in to all the topics!! 👍
I just made fried apples with my land o lakes cinnamon sugar butter last night
WHAT??! What is this wicked 🍎🍎 snack/dessert?! Can you please share the recipe?! 🙏

I too vote this should be the thread of the year!!
Ditto!!

We have replaced slots with eCraps. Your money lasts a lot longer and it is more entertaining. Push the button, push, push the button! I hear the computer lady saying that all the time in my mind. To play really cheap to learn it, go to Casino Royale. Also fun is the eHorse racing. There is an antique one in Tahoe. While in Vegas there is a modern one at Linq I think. If not the Linq, place right next door (but not the flamingo. The other place).

Be sure to check out the Neon Museum night tour as well as their special exhibit for something else to do.

I would probably have enraged the OP if I had mentioned the exact type of cruise we're going on but it's one where everything is included in the fare, drinks, tips (and you don't tip unless you actually want to since it's already included), gratuities, all food on board, a good list of wine and champagne that are complimentary a bottle of champagne in your room, stocked bar and mini bar drinks-wise with your choices. If you want something like Dom Perignon then yeah that's an added charge.

We are the type of people that would never buy the Disney Dining Plan because it wasn't a good value for us but the more I got used to the idea of how this cruise would go the more I started feeling off about going to a cruise where I'd have to actively think about the costs. I'm price-adverse where I will downgrade my own experience because I don't want to spent X on Y. I've gotten better at it through the years but in some ways that's probably why I was like this with this cruise wanting one where I didn't have to feel bad about that drink or wanting that meal. This cruise is our ultimate splurge in all of our 15 years together. But like you said treating yourself :) In our day to day lives I'm the person who hates paying $0.75 for a side of ranch :lmao:
Don't you pay more to have all included? I think it works out better to do the all-inclusive from my math pricing out other cruise lines. I've cruised on DCl enough that I have a system and I know exactly what everything is going to cost.

I put in Royal up bid for a suite. If I get it I'll cancel the drink package since I'll have free drinks in the lounge. I'm not too optimistic though I'll get the upgrade.

It's probably our fault they limit because we used to get like 25 chick-fila sauces with every order. Well, there are four of us.

You're lucky. As others in the thread have pointed out, it is not uncommon to be charged for Ranch Dressing.
I've never been charged for Ranch, but I've also never asked for it. What exactly do request ranch for other than a salad or wings which already come with ranch?

Anything that has fries ranch is a must. For pizza dipping the crust in ranch is good. Generally chicken fingers come with ranch or honey mustard or both but I gotta make sure I have enough for fries. Chicken wraps I like to add some if they didn't put enough

What @FreeTime said. Plus fried zucchini at Carls.

My wife is a big fan and keeps a bottle in the fridge, but the mom and pop pizza place we frequent makes ranch dressing fresh, no little packets, no big plastic jug. It's the best ranch dressing I have ever had. Although I normally don't dip my pizza in Ranch.

Well not exactly since it's all included in the fare it's not a package or an add on or based on what room you book. I've priced DCL before on some things like the cruise my DISer friend I believe is taking in Europe. While not quite exactly the same itinerary with every port the same her cruise works out to be more expensive than the ultra luxury brand for a similar type itinerary is to get a verandah (when that is the base room on the particular ship we're on for the company we booked with) and for DCL that doesn't include the food at the specialty restaurants, the tips, the gratuities, etc. Not saying that's representative of many cruises between the companies but you wouldn't just want to assume DCL is the cheaper of the two. I mean that 18% gratuity on every beverage for DCL adds up quick IMO.

The luxury/ultra luxury cruise line we're taking yeah are on average quite pricey (I mean they can get extremely pricey) and there's an aspect of including so much in the fare to that but it's also about looking at it from an entire part. I don't think I would drink my way through a normal package on a normal cruise line like Royal or Carnival so in that way I know I could save money depending on what you have to pay for. On the other hand for the 1 specialty restaurant on our ship no added charge just a restriction on 1 reservation per every 7 days of your cruise and they say it's pretty easy to book a reservation on the ship. We booked our reservation last year but no issues, no complicated "concierge level" booking window either.

IDK we'll see how this upcoming cruise goes but I have a feeling it will be something we'll compare on when looking at future cruises. Interestingly from the comments Ritz Carlton is not getting the best of reviews who just joined the ultra luxury game. I'm waiting to see how Explora (from MSC) line does. Competition is good in the market and I think it could use it. Speaking more generally I think that's why DCL sometimes gets away with things because what other cruise ship line out has their sole focus on the kids and the kids at heart?
