We will drink Joffrey when we are at the parks if we need a quick boost! But will only get their cold brew straight up, no milk, no syrup, nada!

Pour over is great but I am no expert about them. We like French Press so on weekends sometimes we'll do it if we got some local beans that we haven't tried.
I can't believe I didn't know better for YEARSSSS and drank that Charbucks!! Ugh! Now I will only go in there for convenience when I'm on the road. Or I'll get the Chestnut Praline Latte a few times during the holidays, but with half the syrup! Otherwise, I think I go inside Charbucks once every couple months??
I get my Disney Joffrey cold with a double shot of Baileys.

I buy Starbucks bagged coffee to make in my Mr Coffee drip machine at home! oh the horro!

I'm that way with the grocery store bags. It's a dime (I call them dime bags btw) I throw those on my nightstand without a second thought and never spend them. BUT...it's a dime that they told us was going to help the environment and it's a lie - the grocery store keeps it. I'll keep my dime, thanks.
Not in Georgia, or at least widespread yet, if it is here...
I remember running into it in NJ for the first time and I was like ...What now? I have to pay for a bag?
Ugh! We also have to pay for bags here! Like every bag!! Target, all grocery stores, , retail stores, malls, everywhere! And the bag price isn't the same everywhere. The "standard" is $0.05 - 0.08 for reg plastic bags (Target, grocery stores). But the retail stores can charge you all different prices! The most I paid for a bag was the LEGO store. That was the very beginning of it when we weren't used to taking reusable bags w/ us, I bought a few boxes of LEGOS (medium and small ones) and I'm not carrying them in my arms around the mall. So sure I said I'll take a bag, it was $0.75!! Although it was a nicer, LEGO logo bigger paper bag with handles, but still...$0.75! I was so annoyed!!
They did away with plastic bags in our county last year…I had a decent stash I guess but this week we bought kitchen trash bags for the first time in my life. 😭
Our recent trip to Disney, went to Target and I forgot bags are free there still, I was soooo excited! 😂Went to self-checkout and may have grabbed quite a few extras with our purchase!! LOL! Again, funny how we are okay with dumping thousands of💰at Disney but we are such cheapskates with just plastic bags!!🤭

Scarpetta was one of our favs but last time we decided it's time to move on, it'll still be on the list but not a must do for every trip anymore. But the braised short ribs..so yummy and good desserts.

Last trip we tried out Rivea at the top of Delano and such good food. Then there was Lakeside at Wynn (a splurge but we had a $100 resort credit to use up). Now Mon Ami Gabi is still a must for breakfast every time, dessert is good too

Really we joke but we got to Vegas primarily for food and ambiance. We gamble a tad but just a wee bit. My husband is video poker stadium black jack and I'm slot machines..so naturally I either win the money for us or lose it :rotfl:
We treat our visits in Vegas like we prioritize at Disney - food and luxuriating at the resorts or parks. We do some gambling, catch some shows, and hang-out until the wee hours at the casino bars (chandelier Bar at Cosmo) - with an off menu "secret" drink - The Verbena

"The drink will quite literally make your mouth water because it comes with a Szechuan button—an edible flower that is filled with a natural alkaloid. A couple of seconds after eating it, your mouth feels tingly, your salivary glands go into serious overdrive, and your tongue is properly primed to clock all of the drink’s unusual flavors.

Instead of run-of-the-mill lemons and limes for this margarita-like cocktail, Mariena uses a medley of unexpected citrus components (yuzu, kaffir leaves, and calamansi, which is similar to kumquat), blanco tequila, and ginger for an extra bite. It’s spicy, refreshing, fragrant—and downright unforgettable."

It has taken me three hours to binge read this thread before it’s deleted like the reedy creek one that exploded in posts and was deleted before I got to read it. It’s been hilarious and one of my favorites threads I’ve read in a while. Here’s my thoughts: I love POG, we went through a gallon a day when we were in Hawaii, it makes an awesome POG mimosa with champagne. Don’t like beer, which is ok because I can’t drink it anyway due to celiac. Love butter, especially Kerrygold. I just made fried apples with my land o lakes cinnamon sugar butter last night. I have never been to Vegas but when I do go I’ll use my SWA points that I churn through the CC. My favorite alcohol is sweet tea vodka mixed with simply lemonade for a super simple boozy Arnold Palmer. I too vote this should be the thread of the year!!

we just couldn't get into Resorts World. Tried it what two or three times and just didn't like it. But I'm sure the rooms are very nice, just speaking about the mall/shopping and casino floor.

I forgot to mention about Bellagio is the Conservatory is a really cool thing to see.
We want to try a stay at Resort World! I've been hearing mixed reviews so will definitely try it when rates are lower, so if it's not good at least it doesn't hurt as much.

The Bellagio Conservatory during Christmas is one of the most beautiful things!

Not only did you manage to fit in quite a lot of the topics but you should also get an award for spending 3 hours reading this! That is dedication to getting to the end. Truly kudos to you :goodvibes

Anyone here from Nashville here?? I work with colleagues from that area and they have an additional 15% liquor tax on top of the 9.25% sales tax!!! 😱 I can't imagine going out for a drink and get charged 24.25% tax on my cocktail!!

It is also 10.25% for us....😭

I seriously thought we were the highest too. 11.5%?! That's crazy!!
I live in TN but not Nashville. My college city doesn’t have that crazy liquor tax. I guess it’s to make money off of the tourists and stream of bachlorette parties. TN doesn’t have any state income tax, so our cost of living here is really cheap compared to other areas of the country.

So I am trying hard not to wonder what the OP is thinking now. You know they have to be reading these! I’m still baffled as to why under $100k people don’t go on vacations or have homes or are incapable of saving. That is as insulting as saying poor people can’t budget. That is the big insult I hear being say in the line of work I am in.
Pretty sure OP would be furious! But we are having so much fun! LOL!
They would be even more enraged if I had shared that we spent well over $10K for our recent Disney trip (Disney cruise + 8 days at WDW), oh and now we are in the market for buying a resale DVC contract! Then posters continue to talk about more vacation we have planned for the future. OP probably wants to report us all and tell mods to ban us! 😝😂

I wasn't here at the beginning but from what I gathered, I don't think OP meant to offend anyone that make less than 100K. She wanted tips/advice but just got mad for posters that make more than that chiming in. I think that's kinda what happened? 🤷‍♀️

VERY common. Dipping sauces are free up to a certain number per order but Ranch always costs more. at many fast food places. Pizza places have always charged extra for Ranch.

I've never been charged for Ranch, except for at ONE place and it's for a 6oz tub of it.

Haha... what can I say ... lots of energy there ... good food onsite like Scarpetta, Zuma, Momofuku, Beauty&Essex, Blue Ribbon and a fun speakeasy to hang out in along with a pretty lively day club scene... (most of that is well behind me now of course!)
Haven't tried some of those restaurants, but love Momofuku, Eggslut and Jaleo. Cosmo is definitely where it's hoppin! Lots of good stuff there!

When we stayed at the Waldorf, we fell in love with it! We love that it has a great location (next to Cosmo), but it doesn't have all the crowds and casino traffic, so much easier getting to/from our room. It's nice and quiet but when we want action, we just walk outside. It's like a mini oasis in the middle of Vegas strip! Not to mention their Spa is sooooo frickin amazing!!! 😍 But because it doesn't have a casino many people would never want to stay there.

You're lucky. As others in the thread have pointed out, it is not uncommon to be charged for Ranch Dressing.

I'm guessing these are mostly small businesses that do this? I eat out quite a fair amount and get ranch on the side pretty frequently and I'd be annoyed if I ever got charged for it. Hasn't happened in my entire life. I guess I don't eat at places that do this.

Speaking of Joffreys and saving money for vacation ...

DS#2 likes Joffrey's Coffee (he does not do Starbucks) and DS#1 LOVES their PINK donuts, I do like some of their specialty drinks and their ice teas. And I save money because if I pay with my Disney Visa I get 20% off! And since we do a pink donut every day it adds up.
