Did anyone see the AITA thread about this girl who left a date and came back with a bottle of ranch because the restaurant didn't have any? I saw it on Twitter and the person who shared it put it like, "So low stakes but also so wild" and I think that's a perfect encapsulation.
Okay Japan is very high on my list for many reasons, Tokyo Disney and Kyoto chief among them, but I hear SO much about those darn toilets!!
Pfft I needed that for THIs thread!!

Honestly it was pretty nice overall, we were there for a wedding, but I just can't with the scented TP, it's irritating!
Can confirm. Starbucks over roasts their beans. My first ever job was in a Barnes and Noble Cafe serving Starbucks Coffee (not TECHNICALLY a Starbucks, it was basically the exact same menu but we couldn't take the gift cards and people would get v mad). I still go before days I go into the office for convenience, but I usually add a pump or two of flavor to compensate.
I also get four shots of espresso, but that's another story .....
YES! Chemex is my favorite method, it produces such a lovely smooth bright flavor that doesn't need ANY cream, sugar or whatever. I have a Chemex and a Nespresso at home. Would love to be a proper espresso machine girlie but the Nespresso is so darn convenient.
This is an excellent Q and I wonder the same.
No to the scented toilet paper, but I will have to say after traveling to Japan I would really love to have a Japanese toilet in my next bath remodel. Two words: heated seat.

You might want to clear your calendar for the night then! Don't even think about making dinner...just grab takeout! LOL!!It might be easily 50 pages by the time you come back...

I don't even know why they would make that! Although there are scented maxi pads....so I guess it's only fair if TP is also scented?!? LOL!!![]()
But I'm curious...which hotel was that?! lol!

Where we live, we have a lot of amazing coffee. I can tell you, we don't call it Starbucks around here, it's Charbucks because their beans are burnt!!(Sorry if you're a Starbucks lover!!) If you don't drink drip coffee black, you really can't tell the different notes between them. I drink my drip black only, so I can taste everything. I'm such a spoiled coffee snob that I can't drink cheap flavorless coffee (gas station, diner, fast food). It's bad....so bad that when we travel if I know local coffee isn't a thing at the destination, I will bring my own because I refuse to pay $4 for a crappy cuppa joe!
A great quality cup of coffee to start my day, is the only way I will start my day![]()

Okay see now we're about to go on a tangent about pour over coffee
So that is how my husband and I drink our coffee on the weekends..pour over and black. It is true if you get a really good coffee and good method going you don't need the other stuff.
Now during the week I do a wee bit of milk (1%) and my k-cups, but weekends are reserved for our special way. We tsk ourselves for how we used to deal with god awful burger king coffee when we'd get breakfast from them, McDonald's isn't bad actually but just way too hot for way too long, Dunkin' is fine but nothing competes truly with pour over coffee. And now we have an electric grinder so we get whole beans and grind them just before we use them. My husband decided to get an expensive but actually quite good espresso machine from Amazon last year and we use that a lot as well although that is more with milk and stuff. We tried it with brown sugar too and it was good. But yeah now my husband is a pour over, espresso machine snob
And 100% agreed on Starbucks, I like dark roasts, bold flavors, bitter, dark chocolate too but Starbucks is just burnt to me.

I wonder what the baseline location is. Like, where is a $100k salary "worth" $100k?
