Adding DDP when we arrive?

My plan was to add DDP to our package this week before we left and could use our Disney Rewards card to pay for 1/2 of it. However, I just realized our Disney Rewards Card expired and we leave on Wed. Unfortunately, we have a later flight and won't get to the resort until at least 8PM. Two questions: should we go to DTD first and get our new Rewards card or can I still add DDP the next day if we wait and get the card from AK guest relations?

What pp said, it must be added 72 hours before check in and it must be paid when you add it to your reservation.

The others are correct, you have to have purchased the dining plan 72 hours before arrival.
Now if you are staying DVC I think it is a bit different, but if you not using/buying points, then you can't add it at check in.

yup, unfortunately, I'm one day past the 3 day mark. I called to check.

But...everything happens for a reason. My brother came over tonight to give me my b-day present early, as I will be celebrating it next week @ WDW. It is a substantial gift card for WDW. So even though we can't get in on the DDP, we now have more money to use there to eat with!

Points stays can also NOT add it at check-in. For DVC stays, it must be 48 hours or more in advance and paid in full at the time it is added (which is paid to DVC member services by the member).
