We are going in a few weeks with a MYW 6 day base ticket. Will I be able to use some of the days, then add days to make it a 10 day pass and purchase the non expiring option? I would like to use 4 days of the pass, then add 8 days and upgrade to non expiring...is this possible?

No. Sorry, not possible.

10 days is the MAXIMUM number of theme park days per any MYW ticket.

If you use 4 days of a 6-day MYW base ticket, the max. number of days you can add
will be 4 days (6+4=10.)
And, you must pay the "non-expiring" fee for all 10 days (the entire ticket,) even if you have already
used 4 of the days.

Here's Cheshire Figment's everything about tickets-

Thanks Robo...I didn't think it would be, but it was worth asking!

You can make the upgrades to your 6 day tickets within 14 days of first use. If you go past 14 days, you will not be able to add non-expiring or extra days. Your tickets will expire after 14 days of first use unless you get the non-expiring add on. As PP said, 10 days is the max you can have. You can only add 4 days to your six day tix.

If you make them non-expiring, then I would rec. you add the water parks and more option. At $53.25 (inc. tax) it's a great value. If you have a 10 tix, you'll get 10 plusses-that's just over $5 per visit. So worth it.

Here's the numbers (all inc. tax., adult)

Your 6 day base ticket cost $231.11

Add on Non-expiring $69.23/6 day
191.70/10 day
Add on Park Hopper $47.93/no matter how many days
Add on Water Parks and more $53.25/no matter how many days

So, if you want to upgrade to a non-expiring, 10 day, PH, water parks and more the extra cost would be $301.39/adult. (532.50 less 231.11)

A 6 day, non-exp, PH, waterparks plus, would be an additional $170.41 ($532.50 less 231.11) The difference between 6 and 10 days is $130.09 for 4 extra non-expiring days and 4 more days for waterparks and more.

We always buy 10 day premiums (non exp., PH, waterparks plus) and bring them back for a few trips. We have alot of waterpark plusses stack up right now. :)

If you don't want to go the the waterparks, etc. you would save $53.25 per tix. No Park Hopping would save $47.93.

A 10 day/non-expiring, non-PH, non-waterparks and more would cost $431.43, a difference of $200 more than you paid for your 6 day base tickets.

Hope this helps.

Thanks for working the math out for me! I thought it might be worth having some days bought for our next trip (no date yet) before the price increase. Even if we just upgraded a few of our passes, we'd be ahead of the game for next time. Thanks again!

I was going to buy the 10 day no ex tix with water park so that we could use them for our next trip as well (I figure we will have 5 or 6 days leftover after this trip). So you say that I can buy 6 day tickets with no ex. and then on the next trip upgrade to 10 day?? Do you then have to pay the going rate for the non ex dates(do you just pay the difference of the 10 day no ex to the 6 days you already paid for??) and then would you also get 4 wpandmore visits added?? Thanks for the info this thread gave me a new idea, of how not to shell out an extra $400 at the end of our vacation!

Post Note:: Thanks for the answers: Nope!!

Once you have gone more than 14 days days past first use you cannot upgrade or modify a ticket in any way, even if the No Expire option has been purchased.

The only exceptions to this is if you have a Florida Resident Play-3 or Play-4 Pass, where you may upgrade this type of ticket within 6 months, or upgrading an Annual product to a higher level Annual product which can be done any time.

Is this a recent change? I have added days to a 6 day non-expiriing pass. This may have been prior to 2005 though.

So, to OP, verify the info I gave you before letting the 14 days go by. Thanks. I looked over the inof about tix on allearsnet.com again and it doesn't say you can add any days after the 14 day window. So this may indeed, now, be true.

To me, it is unclear if you can now add PH and WP & more options to a non-expiring tix after the first 14 days (which doesn't apply really to a non-exp.)

Here's what allearsnet.com says:
The no expiration add on can be added at any point before the ticket expires but you will pay based on how many days the original ticket was for, not how many days are left. Same goes for the Park Hopping and Water Park Fun & More add ons. They may be added at any time but will be charged at the full rate of the add on regardless of how many unused admissions remain on the ticket. The add ons (PH, WPF&M and No Expiration) are priced on a *per ticket* cost, not on a per day cost. You may do the add ons at any Guest Relations location in the parks or DTD or at the Lobby Concierge (formerly Guest Services) window at any Disney resort.

So, my best advice, is check with Guest Services before your 14 days expires. I don't want to give out false info.

I work selling tickets at WDW. The rule is that no MYW ticket may be modified or upgraded in any way more than 14 days from first use, even if the No Expire Option has been purchased.

The only specific exceptions are the Florida Resident Play-3 and Play-4 which have a six month validity, and any Annual product may be upgraded to a higher level Annual product any time during the validity.

And next time I see Deb Wills or one of the other people at Allearsnet I will mention this to her.

Thanks for clarifying! :goodvibes

So I assume that if I start with 10 day tickets, I can change them to 8 day tickets before I leave and then pay the 8 day no experation??? Before we go home we just want to carry 4 park days over to our next visit, but we first want to make sure we can use them freely on this trip, however we assume right now we are only going to be using 4.
Oh also, I have my trip booked for September I know they usually announe ticket price increases around August, so would we pay the new price in September when we change our tickets during our vacation?? Would it be best to make a good guess right now and buy the no ex before we leave instead of waiting until September?? Thanks for all the advice.

Yes. As long as you are paying more money we are able to reduce the number of days when adding an option.

Sometimes at the water parks we will get a person who has a hopper ($45) where they have not used any hopping and want WPF&M ($50) to get into the water parks. As long as my terminal shows me that the hopping feature has not been used I will only charge the $5 difference to remove the hopping and add the WPF&M.
