I am wondering if anyone has ever bought an add-on on their Disney Visa--and the price was either under $2500, or their guide broke it into separate parts (all under $2500) and then did NOT get 0% financing? Also, please post if you DID get the 0%, as well. Elaine

I was curious about this, too. I was wondering about the 10% of purchase price bit...

This is what the web site says:
"Special financing on Disney Vacation Club.
Get 0% APR for 6 months on 10% up to $2,500 on your Disney Vacation Club down payment or add-on purchase.
If you use your Disney Rewards Visa Card to purchase an additional Disney Vacation Club Ownership Interest, the Daily Periodicc Rate for the first 6 billing cycles following the date of the purchase is a promotional fixed APR of 0% provided that no payment on your account is past due at the time of purchase. The rate will apply to that portion of your initial downpayment or add on purchase price charged to your Disney Rewards Visa Card up to $2,500 or 10% of your total purchase price, whichever is less. After this promotional period, the applicable APR for purchases specified in your cardmember agreement will take effect on any Disney Vacation Club purchase balance remaining on your Disney Rewards Visa Card account. The 0% APR does not apply to Disney Vacation Club purchases made using any checks that access your account.

Our first charge came through with the zero percent; our second charge did not. I don't know if it was a mistake or it was because the totals were over 10%. I didn't look into it because I paid them off right away.

Yeah, what is that about? Only $2,500 or 10% which ever is LESS!
So, if my add-on is $4,480, then only $448 is at 0% for 6 months and the remaining $4,032 is at the rate I have on that card starting from date of add-on?

We had nothing but trouble with our last zero interest purchase. We were told that the promotion had ended and I found it on the Chase website.

The paperwork was processed incorrectly by DVD and we didn't get the zero rate. I was told by Chase not to pay the interest charge which was in error because the corrected paperwork had been received.

We were still billed the interest rate and we were told by Chase that it was because we didn't make the full initial payment and now we were disqualified from the promotion.

Chase finally got everything corrected five months after we bought.

That is how I would interpret it. I think I would only charge the 10% on the card if that is how that works out and use some other form of payment for the other 90%. (It sounds like the possible making of a whole lot of aggravation.. )

I have posted in another thread that in sept I purchased 30 BLT and it was split up 2500 and 860, both came up intrest free.

I purchased 30 more BLT in Nov and it was also billed 2500 and 860 with both again showing intrest free.

Now this month I purchased 45 more, yes the 100 limit pushed me into it, and my guide billed it in 2 parts. -- 2500 and 2540 so will see how that hits when the statement comes.

I have a question for you: were you able to run these balances interest-free while you still used the card and paid off other purchases, or did Chase treat any payment as paying off the interest-free part first? (So you really couldn't charge anything else to the card without paying interest?)

Thanks.

On mine they took my payment and paid off what I had charged for the month first then (I had a 900 balance on the card to begin with) they took about 80% of that payment I made over the new charges and paid on the beginning balance and about 20% of the payment over the amount I had charged went to the zero percent balance. Sorry if confusing it is to me I had to look at the statements a few times to figure out just what they did.

I think it may take some one smarter than me to figure out just how they work those things.

Any ways the 900 beginning balance I had is going down faster than the zero interest balance.

I know others have said they found that the payment went to the zero interest first and left the higher interest balances alone so the interest built up on that amount. that is not what has been done to my account.

This was my experience as well, I added on 100 points at AKV in September there were two charges done one for 2500 and the second one for the remainder, it didn't matter to me as I was paying it in full but both charges came up at
0%

Well that helps clear up what the customer service agent at Chase was trying to explain when I called about this offer today.

I just made an add on purchase and put the entire amout on my Disney Visa. It was broken down to two amounts on the purchase. $xxxx Disney Vacation Development (the down payment) and $xxxx DVC escrow payments. The entire amount was considered two "Qualifying Promoional Financing" transactions. No interest for 6 months on the total amount.

Was on the Magic and made reservations for DW and I and my son and his family. The down payment for that was "Qualifying Promoional Financing" Total Qualifying Promoional Financing $6400.

Can't beat that with a stick. :yay:

I called Chase today and found out my add on deposit of $992 was on the 0% APR interest special and I do not have to pay this until May 2009. (this was according to the computer):surfweb:

Then I talked with a CSR and she confirmed. She told me to pay off the balance in full with the $992 subtracted as I didn't have to pay that until May. She also told me that this was automatically done when you purchase a vacation thru Disney. I guess there are 2 separate specials because I asked her about the $2500 limit and she said she has seen more qualify. I guess there is one if you purchase a vacation thru them too.

We have 2 contracts and my Dh & I have separate cards. I will be using both of them to get as much interest free balance I can. I ended up buying 40 points more that I had saved for (to get the founders tile at BLT:confused3 ) so this deal makes my day!!!! :thumbsup2

I think it has to do with how it is billed as I stated in a previous post my add on of 100 points which is well over 2500 was billed as 2 charges and they both qualified but one showed as disney vacation development and one as DVC escarow payments which is why maybe both qualified.
