Awe Sam you're so sweet!
Well i'm so bored at work today... with the holiday we're very slow... so i was on facebook (lifes amazing distraction otehr than the DIS) and the GF send me a message. We were talking back and forth about how it was good talking to each other and how she was really psyched about the disney idea. Then she said "oh i think i should warn you"... warn me? warn me about what? Well apparently FBIL was told by FMIL that she doesn't think she'll be attending the wedding and that shes going to try and talk us back into the NH wedding... which is why she hasn't give DF a straight answer as to how she feels about the DFTW idea....

I immediately called DF and told him what i was told and he is not a happy camper. He is very very P.O.ed. He said that we're going regardless of them... he said he doesn't care if they go or not... the two important people will be there and thats all that matters. So we'll see but he is going to be giving her a call and he wants to hear it from the horses mouth. So i'll update you all on that later.

But my hater blockers are on!!!

Well ladies... I did it!!!


I "held" a date for our escape wedding!

I'm keeping the same date that we wanted, 10/16/2010. I also got a some information on the DP and DF is all about the desert party! So here is what the wedding consultant and I were thinking....


wedding at SBP on 10/16/2010 @ 5pm
Dinner at Yahctsmen Steakhouse @ 6:30pm
Then Morocco DP

What do you girls think?... you like?

I did all the math and even with the DP the whole wedding will cost less than the reception hall's package which included, food, cake, centerpiece, and room rental.... no DJ, no JP, no Photographer, No limo, No hair and make up, no Flowers... yea you get the picture. So I am very excited and DF is too!

Just thought i'd share all that info with you girls!

im sorry that you have been getting the run around and from the sound it looks like they will try to convince you to keep the NH wedding...but Adam is right...the most important people will be in Disney..or whereever you decide to have it , and thats you and him!!

I think for dinner its between YS and the Flying Fish... i heard alot of good thing about both but i think Flying Fish might be more our style. But we'll see either way i'd be happy!

Good morning ladies!!

Sorry i haven't updated in a few days.... the backlash from people has begun now that we announced our wedding plans. It took alittle bit of a toll on me in the beginning, i mean when your mom calls after 5 months of not speaking to you to beg you not to "upset" the family and tell you that she'll pay for everything if we get married in a church and have a reception at the ELKS, you know its bad. But DF and the support of my DIS girls has brought my spirits back up and I've come to realize that those people who are giving me crap about our decision to have the wedding WE want obviously don't really care about us. If they did care about us they'd be supportive.

OOhhh that sounds fantastic! I love Yachtsman!!

I'm glad i'm getting good reviews on the YS. We've never eaten there but DF's family is a steak and potatoes kind of family so i thought it would be a good choice.

Thanks Angela!! I have to admit that SBP is what sold DF i think. He loved the idea of it being near the lake, and close to EPCOT. Even though he is a Guys guy he has a tiny itty bitty sensitive side and i think some of those pictures of the weddings there hit that sensitive side to him!

I agree! I never knew what a desert party was until i saw Lurkyloo's TR... I was in awe of those pictures and the whole idea of using it as a great way to end your wedding day... and sooo rebeliouse wearing your dress in the park!

I can't wait! I think its the best thing for DF and I. It's going to be totally worth it. Both DF and I are happy with our decision and we aren't letting anyone bring us down anymore.

Hey girls,

I haven't really had anything to report the past few days because to be honest idk what i should be doing!

I know i can't really plan anything until 8 months out when i can actually book the wedding but are there certain things i should be thinking about? I asked a few questions on the wedding boards and got some pretty good feed back but i think i'm going to give you ladies the short version on my questions and see if you girls can help me too!

1.) Escape bouquets - which are you choosing, are you changing/adding anything to it, and could you share some pictures that inspired your choice.

2.) Photography - Are any of you using/already used DPS? Do you think we'll get good pictures through them? *trying to keep the budget low* Would I be smart to make a "must have" picture list? How can i ensure that i get great pictures without hiring an outside photographer?

3.) DP or Fireworks cruise? *and why?*

4.) Cake tables - I've seen different designs on escape cake tables in other trip reports... is this something that you can request or something that is included and you pick a certain style??

5.) How likely is it that i get the time, location, and date that i chose? Its SBP on Saturday 10/16/2010 @ 5:00

6.) How do you escape brides handle not doing anything until 8 months out?!?!?!

Alright i think thats enough to keep you girls busy. Any input or advice would be much appreciated!

From my own experience, DO NOT allow your family to stop yoou from this wedding in disney. With two months left, I have been beyond angry with myself with not going through with it, and putting myself first for once...

And as hard as it is... YOu have our support. Unfortunately, I didn't use that to my advantage!

1.) Escape bouquets - which are you choosing:
We had chosen simple boquets with gerbera. Franchs will work with you in every step of the way. I would say the more color thebetter for those pics!


2.) Photography - We were going to use the roots until we found out that they were not allowed in the park. In that case we were goign to splurge and use both our photog for outside shots and then their photog for all the good around the park pics

3.) DP or Fireworks cruise? *and why?* Dessert partyall the way. The fireworks cruise is nice, but, limited. I think that the dp is more intimate for those of your family members who have decided to come and you get to wear your dress longer in the parks!

4.) Cake tables - I think they are working on this. For a few dollars more we were getting a cake in our colors with ribbon

5.) How likely is it that i get the time, location, and date that i chose? Saturdays are always hard, esp peak season, so I would have at least three back ups so you aren't too stressed over it!

So I just read your PJ front to back! First off I LOVE your dress and am so jealous that you got such a great deal on e-bay! I've been watching e-bay for my dream dress but no such luck! Very exciting that you're going to be a DFTW bride! I think you are making the right choice... I've never heard anyone say they wish they would have had a home wedding and NOT gotten married at Disney- but I've heard plenty of people wish they HAD gotten married at Disney. You have definately gotten some good advice from the ladies on here (especially from Jo- wow she must be a therapist or something!). I am so excited to follow your story! I'm sure the drama is not over yet but just keep your on and you'll be just fine!

Ebay was the best thing EVER!!! My sister and i went to DB and weren't impressed with their selection or their prices. I was afraid people would think it was tacky to get a wedding dress from Ebay but at this point i got such a deal that i dont care! It takes alot of hunting but its well worth it... i think you'll find your dress no problem!!

I'm sure this won't be the last time i deal with drama either but honestly these girls (especially JO) are my "i'm getting maried in disney and people aren't supportive" support group. And so helpful! Any time i post a question they're right on top of things.

I hope you stick with me and my mish mash of a PJ.

Hey Heather!

I'm hoping for SBP... and when i say hoping i mean i say alittle prayer everynight! Both of my DSis's and FBIL's who are going to be our bridal party are still in college so we don't want them to miss too much of school. so we figured if we do it on a Saturday they could skip school on friday and fly down early that morning with us so we can play in the parks that day, then have the wedding on a Saturday and then they can play in the parks with us on Sunday and leave that night or leave monday morning depending on their class schedules. I just know that saturday is a busy day for weddings from the feedback i've gotten on the boards. The only thing we can be flexible on is the location, i'd be willing to go to the YCG if it would guarentee me my date and time. But I really want SBP!!!
