Hi Tracy and Bill! I'm still trying to catch up since my computers in Texas hopefully being repaired. I just wanted to let you know that I'm so happy for you and your upcoming trips. What a fabulous treat! Can't wait to hear more about this trip. I'm off to read some more!

Since Bill has been busy with his internship and doctor's visits, I will reply.

Thanks for the update on your thoughts. My husband thinks I'm crazy too for trying to plan everything. I ended up relaxing my plans once we arrived.
I realized like you, sleep is good!

Sleep is wonderful, although on this June trip we have promised each other to do some rope drops/morning extra magic hours. We will see if that happens .

Luv hearing your perspective....my goodness, Tracy, you two are mirror images of Ed and me. I love to plan, plan, plan and he gets annoyed sometimes because he can't just wander around the World at will.

I promised I wouldn't overplan our next trip....do you think I can do it?

Yes Kathy it was around lunch that day, but he also doesn't understand that we need to keep putting up installments . I am glad we are planners, if we weren't our families would just be wandering around like those people standing in the middle of the walkways with the maps . Not gud!!

I don't think you can not overplan, if you are like me it is just in your blood. I am doing it for both upcoming trips, the one in June and the one in November !!

It was time to go to Animal Kingdom!! We love this park, we love seeing the animals, and we love the shows. We just love WDW!!! We got off the bus and before we even got into the park we saw Rafiki and Daisy Duck.

We just couldn’t seem to get up and around very early this trip for some reason. (Could it be I didn’t sleep well for a week before we went ?)Here is a pic of us right after we got into the park, I’m representing the DIS with my Lime Green:

We walked around looking at some things and decided to go to Pizzafari to eat. I got a salad and Bill got a pepperoni pizza. As usual we had our Pal Mickey check the food out to make sure it was fit to eat:

We decided to go to Pocahontas because we had never gone to it before. We were seated up front. It was a cute show, not something we would go see every trip, but we did like it. Bill thought she was pretty.

We were close to the character trails so we thought we would see who we could get a picture with. First up was Mickey. I like being the one to take the pictures as you have seen. I do NOT like being in them, but somehow the character handler talked me into it this time.

Next we went to visit Donald. He was not to happy that Bill had a Pal Mickey on his tray. He kept gesturing that he was #1 not Mickey. We thought it was cute and the kids in line thought it was hilarious.

We went to Flights of Wonder next. Here is a picture of the pre-show, this owl was gorgeous.

We got to sit down front almost in the center. We love this show and see it every time we are in WDW. Bill loves the parts where the birds fly around in the theater. I like it too, but guess what? They were flying right over my head AGAIN!! I think I am getting a bird phobia .

After that, we knew we were going to be leaving the park soon and we were trying to avoid getting stuck during the parade, we don’t seem to be parade people do we? We saw the It’s Tough to Be a Bug sign and decided to go. There was NO line and we just walked right up to the doors. I liked it better when there was a bit of a line so you could really look at all the animals carved into the Tree of Life. It always amazes me, I really enjoy looking at it. I can’t imagine the hard work it took to put that tree together, artistically and structurally. The show is cute, but dark and loud. There was much screaming and crying during the show. It still makes me wonder why parents don’t research these shows before they take their little kids into it. They must not be DIS’ers.

We made our way out of the park thinking we would be back later in the week, but this did not happen . We took a bus back to Pop so we could freshen up, we had reservations at the Whispering Canyon Café at 8:10pm and were supposed to meet KathyRN and her family at around 7pm at the Wilderness lodge.

Now as most of you know that use Disney transportation, sometimes you have to get creative to get from resort to resort. We were taking a bus from Pop to Magic Kingdom and then we were going to take a boat over to the Wilderness Lodge. We got to MK and as I was standing outside the bus waiting for Bill to get set free I asked a bus driver standing there if he knew how long it would take the boat to get to WL. He said “looks like your bus driver just got re-routed there” and pointed to the bus sign. It was scrolling the words “Wilderness Lodge”. I poked my head back onto the bus and said “is there any way we can just ride to WL with you, since that is where we are going?” He said sure. He hooked Bill back up and off we went, the only people on the bus yet again. It was our first time going there and it was beautiful. Everything is huge and impressive. I had to take a picture of one of the chandeliers:

We were a couple minutes early to meet Kathy and her family so we looked around the lobby. We headed toward the pool area, the designated meeting place, and had to double back because of stairs. Stairs are our nemesis. We found the accessible way and it was getting dark. I looked toward the Roaring Forks restaurant as we were standing outside and thought that I saw Kathy’s son and husband. I got out my cell phone and called her. We talked briefly and she said that was where they were. She said she would meet us outside.

I was so nervous, would she like us, would she want to get the DIS meet over asap? Would we have anything to talk about? Then we saw this beautiful smiling face coming at us. She looked so friendly, she gave me this wonderful hug then went for Bill. He got a huge kiss on the cheek that had him smiling from ear to ear. She said their plans had changed a bit and asked if we would just come into the restaurant while they ate. We said sure.

We walked in and got to meet the rest of the family and they were just as wonderful as I thought they would be. Aunt Rae was quiet. Ed was so nice. Tricia was beautiful like her Mama and so polite, and Billy was boisterous and great to meet.

Kathy had some things for Bill, she gave him a “Mickey Mouse Club” outfit for Pal Mickey and two Star Wars pins:

Bill and I thought that was so sweet of her. She put them on his lanyard for him. I gave her and Tricia a pin and we gave both kids some Disney Dollars. We said Hi to Aunt Rae and she went back to eating. Ed, Bill, Kathy, and I talked. Tricia showed me some of her pins, she has an impressive collection. Billy checked out Bill’s pins and he told me about the places he wanted to see when they went to MGM Studios again. I was totally enjoying our visit and almost forgot about the Whispering Canyon Café dinner reservation.

I have a couple of other pictures from that night, but am respecting their privacy. They are precious pictures to us and we treasure them.

Kathy said something about meeting up with them after our reservation if we wanted to and we said we would love to. We went off to the Whispering Canyon Café not really wanting to be there because we had such a good time with Kathy and her family. We had a good server, but didn’t even try to do any of the things you would normally try there because we wanted to eat and go.

How crazy is that? We had been planning on having fun there for months, but didn’t even ask for ketchup, straws, or anything. Our goal was to eat and call Kathy again. They live in NJ and we live in southern Illinois, it wasn’t like we would be seeing them again anytime soon.

We called, met up with Ed and Kathy and went to the Villas side. The grounds are so beautiful there. We ended up in a lobby area and sat down. We had a nice chat and the time went too fast. Ed and Kathy seemed to be able to understand Bill fairly well. I know I talked entirely too much (Sorry about that Kathy and Ed) . We looked at the time and knew we better go since we had to go to DTD then to Pop Century. They were so sweet and walked us to the bus stop, Bill got another kiss, I got hugged, and they even waited until we were on the bus waving good bye to us.

When the bus driver hooked Bill up he asked us where we were going. We told him DTD, then to Pop. There was only one woman on the bus with us. We dropped her off at the Grand Floridian and thought we were going to DTD, but the bus driver surprised us and took us directly to Pop. We thanked him several times and went to our room. We kept talking about what a good time we had before we went to sleep.

I hope it was a good meet for Kathy and her family because we thoroughly enjoyed it.

Next installment…A change in reservations and who would have thought we would be first for anything?

Hi Tink, I hope you have a fabulous time at Disney and Nashville. As for Valentine's Day plans, we usually just go out to dinner. We are trying to do 2 Disney trips this year, so we aren't doing anything big for Valentine's Day. We have to keep our eye on the prize .
