I've read through this thread and also your thread on the other board. Thank you again for providing us with all this information!
I have a question concerning the shotover jet boats. I've read that the lagoon has a rather unpleasant smell. We were a little concerned about how our 7 year old DD would take to the thrill ride aspect of these boats. When you couple that with the odor, we may reconsider doing this.
Can you please comment on the smell? Would the odor be different at different times of the year? (We will be on the August cruise.) Also, since we will be getting wet on this excursion, do the passengers end up smelling like the lagoon?
Paul
Hi Paul,
It was a real fun experience, the smell is really bad at noon time it smells like raw sewage, I have a terribly weak stomach and the odor almost made me thow up. Well into the ride you it's not that bad, you get used to it. A small child on the other hand, well, I haven't heard of any one not taking the ride on account to the bad smell.
I remember we didn't stink up my car with my GF, but take a change of clothes just for comfort sake.
I would recommend the Ocean Riders, 1 block away and just as exciting, this activity is done in the ocean, check out there web page.

You gotta try the suicide seat, right up front. I didn't let any one change seats with me when I did it a couple of times.
the ship will be alone at berth and on it's Port Side alongside the pier, I'll be on the tip of the pier waving it in assisting the pilot.
) through Shoretrips.com - We are planning to get a group together of 50 or more to see the night diving show at 10:30 PM. We feel it's a better idea to have reservations with a group our size. I've only gotten 1 rate from Marissa at the company.
Oh, did I say EXCITED too? Are we ever EXCITED!!!
