I was able to book a studio for 4 nights at the SSR in November, but there was no studio availabe for for my first night so I figured I book the POP using the AP rate.
I can not book ME yet with my SSR stay because I used my new developer points and I do not have my confirmation # as yet. I understand that I need to book the ME through member services for my trip back to the airport from the SSR.
But I know this sounds stupid, but would I book my Magical Express transportation from the airport to the POP when I book my room at the POP or do I need to do the whole thing through member services? I do not want to mess up any of the systems.

You will book your ME trip from MCO to WDW as part of your Pop stay. You will book your return trip with Member Services. MS will not be able to book the first portion of the ME trip since you are not checking in at SSR until the next day.

Thank you. It does make sense, I think that I am just making all of this more complicated that it needs to be.

I book ME online at the DVC site. You do need a reservation#. You can book one way. I find this very easy to do.

Just so you know, you can waitlist for that first night @ SSR then cancel POP. Then you would not need to move.

It's really not complicated at all. Just call WDW reservations and have them add the "To WDW" portion to your Pop reservation. Then, when you have your SSR reservation number, visit the DVC Member site and book your "From WDW" trip. Simple!

You will probably get 2 sets of DME documents at different times (1 for arrival and 1 for departure) so do not be surprised.

The documents for your trip back to the airport will be delivered to your villa the night before you check out. You will not get them in the mail.

I did waitlist (I am learning) but I booked the POP just in case a studio does not come through for me.

I booked two 1 way reservations on Magical Express (staying at two different DVC resorts) and received both sets of documents in the mail - about 1 week apart.

I agree it's no worry if you don't get the return to MCO portion before you depart. You can get that straightened out when you check in - at the resort's Guest Services desk if the front desk is too busy.

That's interesting. When I booked the return trip for some friends that will be staying with us I was told the documents will be in our room the night before they leave. I'll tell them to be on the lookout for them to arrive in the mail, just in case.

I think the CM was supposed to say that the resort would slip a letter under your door the night before that has the departure information (i.e., the time). You still need a booklet with the bar code page for the ME bus driver to scan. They don't give you any documents, just the letter with the time.

If you don't get the booklet before you depart for WDW, then definitely go to the Concierge/Guest Services Desk at your resort when you arrive and straighten it out Otherwise, if the bus is full, you might not be allowed to board.

For our trip in August we got 2 separate packets mailed to us (arrival was CRO departure was DVC). We did get the standard note the day before check out.
