He everyone!

We are about to bite the bullet and book at Windsor Hills. We have a 3br townhouse for $845 US. I am happy with the price.

I am looking for some thoughts onthe resort itself. Is it kid friendly? Will it be crowded in April? What will the weather be like? I know...........so many questions, but we are total newbies. :confused3

Thanks

Kristie

Hi Kristie-
I own a townhouse there myself, so maybe I can help answer your questions!

The resort is absolutely wonderful, definitely very kid friendly. The clubhouse, waterslide, kids fountains, kids playground, etc are awesome, our kids just love it there. They love having a pool in our townhome even more though, when we arrive it's usually like xmas morning with them bouncing off the walls and it usually take about 10 seconds for them to open up the patio doors and jump right in to the pool! LOL They seem to be able to spend hours in it! Last trip I taught my 7yo to pick up pennies off of the bottom of the pool, he thought it was the best thing ever and for hours was begging me to throw more of them into the pool to pickup! Not sure what age your kids are, for older kids there's tennis, basketball, sand volleyball, golf putting, ping pong, a huge game room, fitness center, and more, and a sundry shop where you can check out equipment for all of these activities.

In April the crowd levels will be high, especially early in the month...we'll be down ourselves on 4/14-4/21 actually and it will be slightly less crowded at the end of the month....early on in the month it will be quite crowded as it's still Spring Break for most. There are days we spend in our own pool since the kids love it so much, last trip we didn't make it to the resort pool even once! lol..other trips we've spent a few days there.

You can see the crowd levels, pictures of the clubhouse, resort, and other activities here:

There are also some notes on the resort and suggestions here:

Suggestions like how to pre-order groceries online before you arrive for delivery! (Very helpful...we just found out about this service on the DIS!)

If you have any other questions PM or email me... glad to help answer anything I can for you!

Have a great trip you will absolutely love it, we went there several years in a row as townhome rentors ourselves, then this past spring we loved it so much we bought a place! That's what happens when we had a rain day! LOL... I got kind of sick and wandered in to the realtor's office while waiting at the Dr's urgent care place... I joke and say it's the most expensive Disney souvenir we've ever bought. :rotfl:

The best thing is that all these activities are actually free. You just leave a deposit ($5.00 or $10.00 depending on which activity) and you get all your money back when you return the equipment.

The other cool amenity at the clubhouse is the theater. You can "rent" a DVD (again, there is no charge for this) and select a time to have it shown in the theater (subject to availability, of course.) My kids "rented" the original Star Wars Trilogy (Eps. IV, V, and VI) and had them shown in the theater. It was great for them because although they've seen the originals on TV or on video, they never had the experience of seeing them in a theater setting. DH and I enjoyed it too. The sundry shop has about 300 family-friendly DVDs to choose from. All are rated either G, PG or PG-13.

We were there last April/May and are returning this April 20-May 5. It is very child friendly!!! Extremely close to Disney and was definitely not too crowded at the time of year we were there!!1 Have a magical trip! :thumbsup2
