Fall 2026 itineraries

Its way cheaper to plan in advance than last minute. I've repriced trips we've booked a year and a half to two years in advance closer to the departure date and they are sometimes thousands more than what we paid.
Depends. Lately the last minute rates on Disney cruises are pretty enticing—but if you are platinum/pearl/concierge you are often sacrificing your onboard booking window in the exchange.

Does anybody know what the summer 2026 Treasure 7 day sailings in a verandah cost when they first went on sale? My kids REALLY want to complete their collection of ships so I was going to book it (and then potentially modify when new treasure sailings are released) and was very surprised that it would be over $12k for the cheapest verandah. 😵‍💫

Disney Cruise Line Blog has a page where they recorded the opening summer 2026 prices. Scroll down for the Treasure https://disneycruiselineblog.com/20...r-2026-sailings-a-look-at-opening-day-prices/

ETA: based on double occupancy, no extra guests in the stateroom.

I've found the complete opposite. How do buy airfare and book hotels two years out?
If you're not from the US and are booking a fly drive or fly and stay package then booking a year and a half to 2 years out is very easy.

Not everyone can do short notice leave or drop the money in such a short time. For some, its easier to know the cost, pay the deposits amd make payments over time. Often works out cheaper to book earlier as well (i.e flights, car and hotel costs go up the closer to the time unless its off peak and there isn't many bookings, same way open day pricing tends to be the best time to book DCL unless you're willing to get a GT rate or hold out for some kind of promo that may or may not happen)

We booked 2 Deluxe Family Verandahs on a September 26 Treasure sailing on Gold opening day.

Cabin 1 - 2 adults = $5005
Cabin 2 - 3 adults = $6268

Edit to add: (as I realised after posting) these include the 10% placeholder discount

We have a treasure verandah room for an eastern Caribbean sailing in February and I booked it pretty close to when it came out. It’s 9178 after taxes/fees for 3 people (2 adults 1 child)

ETA: I’m going presidents week, which seems to be the highest rate in February for the ship. Stuck to a teacher’s schedule

What airline lets you book a flight two years in advance? If you could your flight would most likely change 20 times before you took off. There is a sweet spot for airfare and cars it's usually about 2-4 months out. WDW doesn't release discounts more than a few months in advance and booking cruises on opening day seems to be of little benefit right now.

I am amazed at how many people can book cruises or any vacations so far out.
I’ve planned every week of annual leave I get except one until the end of 2027. Some things I haven’t assigned actual dates to, and some are just pencilled in as “Wish 4” and an approx number of days assigned to it, but the plan is there.

I can’t book annual leave last minute, I have to plan well in advance.

Virgin has their own 'travel agent' branch called Virgin Holiday. The flights are within their company, they tend to have their own pattern so mostly can predict with high accuracy the flights they are planning, sure times may change a little but never really anything drastic, British Airways does something similar online.

If I wanted to book flight and hotel (possibly even park tickets) with Virgin Holidays I can do so atm until end Dec 27/Early Jan 28. Same for Fly drives (though these tend to be more expensive then seperate and you have to go with the provider they choose which I think is Hertz and not someone we would choose to go with). If we wanted to do a WDW onsite stay, that booking period is reduced to Dec 26/Jan 27, and includes the 'free' dining offer.

If booking flights only, 11 months is the max. Obviously I cant compare the same dates at different time lengths for the purpose of this comment, but comparing a flights 3 months from now to one in 11 months, the flights are comparable. About £100 cheaper give or take depending on the cabin (400 for upper class) 11 months out than they are in 3 months time. Same for 4 months, though the price difference for Upper class is only 200 instead of 400.

Booking short notice might work for you and others, but it doesn't work for everyone. Between different circumstance, job flexibility for leave, and personality (I.e preferring to know a cost and have it confirmed, rather then have to keep checking, tracking and maybe miss out because you had a busy week and it skipped your mind) it does not work for everyone. To each their own.

ETA: re booking opening day having "little worth", again thats a personal opinion and depends on personal circumstance. Alot of the discounts offered are either restricted to residency (Florida and Canada) which doesn't benefit a lot of cruisers, or are GT cabins which also doesn't benefit everyone as some people can't take the gamble on placement, some also need accessible cabins which of which are not many. The 3rd and 4th guest offer only benefits familys/sailing parties of 3 or 4, so again not everyone. And some people have placeholders. People can put a deposit down and if a offer comes out that works out better before PIF cancel and rebook, or apply the offer retrospectively is allowed like the recent offer was. There is no loss, in my veiw at least, to putting a deposit down and locking in the price. If the price decreases for some reason, you call disney and they sort it out for you (have done this before).

I do both. I've had plans 2 years out and gone to New Zealand having booked 4 days before the arrival (they did not like this). Different strokes for different folks. No need to be judgmental about it.

I have started to follow along because I want to see the fall 2026 transatlantic so I can price and destination compare it to Virgin, Royal and Celebrity.

We only book certain cabin types with a family of 5. We know every multi-room suite type in the industry and how and when to book them. Interestingly, our DCL cruises are cruises that we actually booked "late" because there are so many 1-bedroom units on DCL ships and inventory pops up here and there, so there's less urgency, but in general, it's really hard to ensure you get the right cabin type, for the right timeframe, with the right ports and stops, unless you plan very far out.

And if it's hard to find room types in the cruise industry, it's even harder when planning trips to Europe or Asia and finding hotels.

Yup! That 3rd kid really makes so much more complicated.

Currently planning Greece Summer 2026 and trying to figure out hotels with family suites and/or home rentals across several towns. Quite the undertaking.

I don't think anyone was being judgmental. I was just curious how they can book a flight two years out....which in reality you can't. It sounds like they give money to a TA to take care of it two years out through a package, but the flights aren't actually booked. UK gets a special free dining option that we don't get here in the states. As far as WDW goes I've always waited to they release discounts to book a room. I don't see a benefit to paying rack rate at WDW.

You asked how people book holidays so far in advance, that is how.

The flights are technically booked, you can choose your seats as soon as your deposit is paid. Any other travel company who doesnt own their own airline offering a hotel and flights package? Yeah, those are just guesstimates and not booked till 11 months, and run the risk of high price hikes or ridiculus changes.

Oh no, another country gets an offer you can't use. There are also offers that can't be used by UK guests (or there have been in the past).

The UK (and EU) market also spends more time (and money) there than most US guests. Most holidays are 2 weeks or more, obviously some less, which is why the UK is offered 14 night tickets both at Disney and Universal, and they are often comparable to the cost of a US based 3 or 4 day ticket. For some, it is also a once im a life time and very expensive holiday and they have to budget for it, so getting a price locked in as far out as possible helps them with that. Even then people might not book (as in money paid) but want the information of plan more accurately.

I'm not saying people from the UK don't book short notice, you just seem very disbelieving (and I agree with the other commenter, judgemental) that some people do. As stated before, there are many reasons as to why people would.

Another example: My family tends to book flights 11 months out because they use their rewards point for flights and the longer they wait, the less choice they potentially have. They almost always have the villa they want to stay in booked already, the times they havent booked in advance they've had to do split stays to patchwork where they are staying because the villa they want isnt available the whole time. Once the owner even booked them in for the wrong year, they realised about 5 months before when they went to see if their check out day was still unbooked to extend a night, they then struggled to find somewhere else that didnt mean moving around more times then its worth, or extortionate hotel prices because its over a US holiday period.

You seem really defensive for no reason. I honestly didn't know about the free dining option at UK and could book that far in advance. Great. It sounds like a WDW trip from the UK is a much more involved process than I ever imagined.

Thanks for explaining how you book a WDW vacation package 2 years in advance. Now we know. Sounds like it works for you.

That is why we always chose cruising as a family. The hotel situation in Europe is not conducive to families. We always went with two rooms.

We want to go further in depth at the various locations than cruises will allow.

It clearly takes a lot more work (and a lot of packing/unpacking) to build out your own itinerary. In exchange, you get so much more of a place when you aren't limited to where cruise ships can stop and all aboard times.
