Now that I have a child--so have never before even KNOWN what the heck Playhouse disney was (LOL)--I need to know specifics from other parents about the Playhouse Disney attraction/show at MGM. Times?? Best seat?? (I heard the back can be good for younger kids who may get scared if up too close). How early to get in line?? Thank you in advance!!!:D

When I took my girls last July, the line started about an hr before 'show time'...which is a long time to wait!! Bring something for the little one to draw with and have a seat on the concrete! Everyone sits on the floor when you come in, so closest to the front but enough view of the stage is best (IMO). Close to the aisle is fun for those who want to be near the characters! If your little one loves Playhouse Disney...they won't be scared! It's great.. we had fun singing and dancing!

It's been awhile since we've been December 2001, but my son had a great time. The picture I took of him while at Playhouse Disney Live is one of my favorite photos of him while at MGM!! He had just turned one, but was not afraid of the characters. It could have been that we sat towards the back. I don't really think there is a bad seat.

When we were there in Jan of this year, the show times were: 10, 11, 12:15, 2, 3, 4:15, & 5 Sunday thru Fri and on Saturday it was 10, 10:45, 11:30, 12:30, 1:45, 2:45, 4, 4:45, and 5:30.

How early to get there depends on time of year you are going. When we have been in the off season you can arrive 20-30 min early and get your choice of seats or even arrive as it is letting in and sit in the back. From your countdown, it appears you are going end of Aug 2005 which should be a low crowd time as most kids are back in school.

Everyone sits on the floor in 3 sections - one center and then one each on the sides with a aisle between. Since it is in a semi circle unless you are to the extreme ends, most of the seats are great. We have sat in all 3 sections and never had a bad view. At 2 of the shows we have been to they ask the kids to get up and do join in a "train" doing the "Bear Cha Cha Cha". (THey did not do this on one of our visits.) So sitting near the aisle so the kids can join in is fun. Also when we have gon in the past, I try to leave space between the people in front of us so that my dtr has room to stand and dance. They invite the kids to get up and hop, jump and dance in place - so make sure she has room to do this.

My dtr loves this show. She is now 3 but has been when she was not quite 1, 1 1/2, and 2 1/2. They do a good job of trying to keep the kids involved and entertained. If she watches Rollie Pollie Ollie, Pooh, Stanley or Bear in the Big Blue House, she will love it.

Have fun.

We went last December (first week). We got there about 2 minutes before the show was starting, got in and sat in the very back, which is not all bad - adults can stand and lean against the wall. There are animated characters from Bear in the Big Blue House, Rolie Polie Olie (sp?), Stanley and Winnie the Pooh. There is a narrator who tells a story. There is one part when they blow bubbles all over the room. I think the show lasts about 15 - 20 minutes, but does not run continuously - check the schedule for times and note that the last show will be significanly earlier than park closing. My DS really enjoyed this show.

This is a must-do for our youngest DD--if you sit near the aisle "Jamie" the human helper will come out and interact with your child. I have found closer to the back to be a better place to sit to see some of the puppets--especially the ones from "The Book of Pooh"---they are kinda near the rear of the stage and can be hard to see.

Sorry, having computer problems. Didn't think my other post made it - It wasn't there when I went to this post again, but when I went to repost the info, it appreared.

Sorry.

Edited to add:
Very very bizarre. When i am on the posting screen, I can see my earlier post. But when I go to the post itself - it is not there. I am re-posting the info - if both appear Sorry for the duplicate.

We have see Playhouse Disney many times. The last 3 times my dtr was not quite 1, 1 1/2 and 2 1/2. She loved it each time. There is 3 sitting areas and we have sat in all of them. A center section and 2 side sections with an aisle in between. Except for being to the extreme end of the sides, the view is great from each area. They do a great job of involving the kids and at one point even ask them to get up to join in a "train" for the Bear Cha Cha Cha. SO sitting close to the aisle is easiest for them to get on the train. (One of our trips they didn't do this. So unsure if it is only done at certain shows.) We do try to make sure that we leave space in front of us so that my dtr can get up and dance around. There are a few spots where they encourage the kids to get up and bounce like Tigger or to jump or just dance in place. So make sure you leave your dtr room to do that.

When we were there in Jan the show times were Sun to Fri: 10, 11, 12:15, 2, 3, 4:15, 5 and on Sat it was 10, 10:45, 11:30, 12:30, 1:45, 2:45, 4, 4:45 and 5:30.

Depending on the time of year you go, you do not need to be there that early to get a good seat. We usually go off season and have literally gotten there as they were entering the stage and still had great seats. On most off season days you can get there 20-30 min ahead and be in front of hte line far enough to basically pick your seats (or spots on the floor in this case). Looking at your timer, it appears you will be there end of Aug 2005. So this should be a low crowd time and you should not have to arrive too early to get in.

Good luck and enjoy - my dtr loves this.

(If my other post somehow materializes out of cyberspace, forgive the duplicate post.)

Went to it in April of this year with the 3 year old. She loved it becuase a lot of the kids and her would stand up and bounce with Tigger. Serenity kind of said it all. I will add that I went during Easter week and they had a temporary fast pass line which was great. Hopefully, it will be on a pernament basis when you go on your trip.

I don't know why my picture is showing up on Disneymom2AA's post:confused: and my post is missing.....strange.

Playhouse Disney is a must do for us. We've seen it at least 5 times and have sat everywhere. There wasn't a bad seat although a 6-7 yr old kept standing in front of us during most of the show even when no-one else was standing. He was taller than my DD's 6 and 4 making it impossible to see over him even standing. It was annoying because we had to crowd our neighbors to be able to see, but that only happened once.

It is such a wonderful, and well done show. The kids get to dance at times and there is bubbles and streamers. Lots of oohs and aahs! It is so cute to hear a little one yell out "Stanley!" or "Pooh!" in excitement when they come on stage.

My youngest turned 5 this summer and she doesn't watch Playhouse Disney like she used to so I'm not sure if she'll want to go. My DD6 didn't want to go last trip and it was so sad to see her grow out of it.:sad1:

We've seen Playhouse Disney at MGM and California Adventure. The floor is a much more forgiving spongy type material in California, we were a little shocked to feel the concrete covered with carpet floor at MGM! Earlier this month that was one of the shows we made a priority seating for with our Princess/Prince package. That package is really a line saver if you are planning on seeing the included shows. We showed up about 20 minutes before the show, and we were the first let in. That said, the front row was too close for my 42 inch tall four year old. There were characters farther back on the stage that he couldn't see, even when standing. I would recommend about 1/2 back on an aisle, and have fun!!

I will only add one caution, and this only pertains if the show is identical to when we were there in March 2003.

At the beginning of the show, there was a loud BOOM and confetti went into the air. The BOOM sent my six year old son into hysterics (he gets easily overwhelmed with any type of excessive noise) and we watched the remainder of the show from the back of the room, standing.

He still loved the show, but I thought I would mention the BOOM!

Thank you everyone!!
Good to know about the BOOM, too since my dd is 16 months and the rumbling of the garbage truck scares her........we go for the weekend (2 days away!!!).

Another thing to consider if you do a package-- add on the DM Prince/Princess. It gives you priority seating (as in right up front!) that you arrange ahead of time for this show, Beauty and the Beast and three shows at AK. It also gives you one character breakfast for everyone in your party and $50 in Disney Dollars for each child in your party. We paid less that $100 extra for all of it and we got more value than we paid. You really don't have to wait in line for any length of time at Play House Dinsey when you have this. They tell you when and where to meet-- ours was about 5 minutes before showtime.

As to the wait time during slow times, we went last February, the week before Presidents Day. We lined up 20 minutes before show time (figured that would be fine since the lines were very short for everything else in the park). We BARELY made the cut getting in to the show and were in the very back. We could still see fine and it turned out fine, but I was surprised at how busy it was. It's hard to wait in line that long for young children. Maybe first thing in the morning is better.
