Hi! I'm new here, but have thoroughly enjoyed reading all of these wonderful tips and suggestions!! This place is addictive! We are headed to ASMovies on March 1 with our three children. I was hoping that some of you may be able to answer some questions so we are more prepared.

I would really like to know what is available at the food court. Do they offer any prepackaged foods, or is it all fast food style?? When we stayed at AKL, they had those little, prepackaged pbj sandwiches, which suited him just fine:-). Our ideal situation for him would be packaged pbj's, poptarts, goldfish, etc. I'm in the process of trying to plan how to pack a loaf of break so it doesn't get squished on the plane, but this would make life so much easier!!!

Secondly, are children allowed to bring their own floaties in the pool?? I'd love to know what to tell my daughter about that since she's been talking about using her float for weeks now.

Thanks so much for any thoughts. I can't believe our big trip is getting so close. I'm in that obsessive stage right now, where I can think of nothing else!!!

Check www.allearsnet.com for menu's from all of disneys' restaurants...

I cant answer your other question, have never been before, but I'm heading to ASMovies in April.

I believe they do sell pre-packaged items. I remeber getting some little plastic "lunch boxes" that contained a p.b.&j,bag of pretzels, raisins, juice box and a Mickey straw. These were a great take-a-long lunch that didn't need to be refrigerated.

Tupperware also sells a saltine cracker container that works perfect for packing a small loaf of bread. It's supposed to hold 4 sleaves of crackers but works great for bread, too.

Karen,

We stayed at AS Movies in December. They do have prepackaged items but I'm not sure about PB&J. They have a little bit of everything so I'm sure you won't be disappointed!

We went in the Mighty Ducks pool and we saw kids with floaties so I don't think that will be a problem.

Have fun!!! I'm so jealous, I'm ready for another trip!:wave2:

How will you be getting from the airport to your resort? If you are driving a rental car, you can stop and pick up groceries on your way. OR, you could hire a towncar and request a grocery stop. This would be easier to than trying to pack a bunch of food (and bread!) on the plane.

ASMo has a fun little kiddie pool area. My 2 didn't want to go to the big pool as they were having too much fun here.

Thank you all for your suggestions. Dh and I had fun surveying the menu on the website...and yes!! they do have pb&J!!! I guess I won't have to worry about this one.

We are taking the Mear's shuttle to the resort, so that won't allow us a grocery stop. I'm sure we'll be able to make due with the food court.

I'll probably bring the floatie just in case she really needs it. I'm hoping she'll be just as happy in the kiddie pool. I also have a 5-month-old, so it might just be easier to hang out there with the two little ones.

Thanks again!!!

20 minutes til the single digit countdown!!

I'm not sure if Mears is charging you for the 5mo but a towncar might cost you the same or just a little more. I've been spoiled by getting picked up at the luggage area and taken directly to the resort and could never do it another way again, especially with kids. I believe they are around $80 and well worth it, especially if you use the grocery stop.

ASMo is great with kids. You can get some food items in the gift shop, such as bread, milk etc, but you will pay more for them. The convienience is usually worth it for some things.

You might try the qieut pool if the main pool is too busy for you little ones. I know when mine were little getting splashed and such in a large pool sometimes made them mad. LOL

Hi! I'm new here too and jsut read your question about the food courst at the ASR - May I make a suggestion. If possible, change your Resort to the Pop Century -it just opened and it terrific. it was my first stay at a value resort and I was very apprehensive having read a lot I did not like about the ASR, MR etc. I was talked into the Pop Century by Disney Res and assured it would be okay. The resort is new and clean and the rooms are very slightly larger than the All Star Resorts. Ask for a room facing EPCOT (not a preferred room) and you will be able to see 3 sets of fireworks each night from your room! I thought I'd never say this, but I'd stay there againif money was tight. Last summer we were at the Animal Resort, I've stayed at almost every deluxe and moderate Resort and I can honestly say to give the Pop Century a try. ::MinnieMo :earseek:

Whatever you decide, have a great time!!!

Thanks for the suggestions. I've heard the new resort is wonderful. I am also pursuing the change to a town car. The hint of having assistance with luggage sounds wonderful. I must research to see if they provide car seats, though.

Tiffany does provide car seats just make sure you mention you are in need of one!

Have Fun:earsgirl: !!!

Karen,

Be very specific when you explain your needs to the towncar company. Make sure they are completely aware that you are a party of 5 ( 2 adults and 3 children), and (from what I understand)that you will need two car seats. Some companies will only provide 1 carseat, the second is extra charge or not available. Many companies can only fit 4 people in a towncar - if you need 5 they may suggest a limo, which would be significantly more expensive.

I would suggest posting a question on the Transportation board, you may get ideas for various options.

Have a great time. Our kids( 3 and 5) loved ASmu. We stayed in Toy Story section, 2nd floor, courtyard view.

You will feel pampered with a town car. I didn't even think about you having two car seats so do make sure to double check. I have used Tiffany in the past and didn't have a problem but I really liked FL Tours. They have a banner on the transportation board and are a sponser of this site. You can read reviews on the transportation board and get a lot of good tips.
