Has anyone ever used AAA and added the silver plan on there package? I am going for the 1st time this summer with my mom 2 sister and there husband. We will be staying at the Boardwalk Resort. Staying 5 nights at the end of Aug. Also what is the park like at that time of year. Busy? Weather? What does anyone think of the Hoo-Dee-Doo Musical Revue , Spirit of Aloha Dinner and Mickey's Backyard Barbeque.

We booked through AAA and did the Silver Add on in July.

Did you think it was worth the extra $$. Did you do any of the tours? If you did what did you think of them?

We did it in Sept. 2002, but I wouldn't do it again. Since finding these boards, I see that I paid way too much! You come out much better buying everything seperately. We're going again with the whole family in Aug. this year, and priced our trip both ways. Even with buying AP's for 3, we would still save $700 over the package price! Also, each meal or whatever you use your "wishes" on needs to equal at least $34 to "break even" on this plan. It was very convienient, but I'd rather do it myself now. HTH!
p.s. We did Hoop De Do that trip too, and it was great! That was the only thing that we got our money's worth on!

It was myself, DH, DS11 and DS7 and my mother. It is very convenient. You can do it for less on your own. But I think we did very good at getting our $$ worth. We also probably wouldn't have eaten at some of the places that we did if we weren't on the plan. To name a a few places we ate at, Fulton's, Yachtman Steak House and Hoop Dee Doo ~ which was great. We used our wishes for dinner and ordered our appetizer, meal and dessert without ever thinking about how much it was going to cost (except to make sure it was cost effective). We also rented a plontoon boat which only cost 1 wish and all 5 of us went out. It really wasn't a good deal for DS7 because he had to chose from the kids menu. So we used his wishes for other things. DS11 Silver add on was the same price as an adult so he was able to chose from the adult's menu. He is a great food lover and ate his $$ worth.

http://wdwig.com/menu/menus.htm Look at the menus here and you can get an idea of where you would like to eat and how much a meal will cost.

We ate at Fulton's too, and rented the water mouse boats. The cost of the boat rental was only $22 though, so that didn't even out. Fulton's gave us our money's worth, but we weren't that impressed with the food. It seemed way overpriced and when we were there, just about everyone in the place was using wishes!
If money is not an issue, I would say go for it, otherwise, you really have to pick and choose from the list of things you can use your wishes on. The behind the scenes tours would be worth it, as well as the dinner shows, spa treatments, and some of the restaraunts, but the things like souveniers that you can choose from really aren't. I would run the numbers both ways and see which way you come out best.
