AAA Discounts

The room only. And tickets if you buy them directly from AAA and not as part of a package from disney

the tickets are a great price if you buy them at aaa. and I got a aaa parking pass that gets me great parking at the parks

The room only. However we had our travel agent tell us years ago that the farther out you book the better the savings. I am not sure if this is true or not but we saved about $700 this year and we booked our Jan/Feb trip as soon as it became available. Good luck. Check into it.

My advice is do your homework dealing with AAA, I got a quote at WDW.com and it was LESS than the AAA quote with the room discount. After I told AAA I wouldn't be booking with them because WDW.com was cheaper, she then lowered the price by $200.

If the AAA discount is avaibale it is much better then any other price out there. The Magic Moments rate is only good for members and only valid if you book at AAA. No one else can offer you that rate.

I got about 6-7 quotes for our upcoming trip and going through AAA for everything was by far the best price. Our package includes room, tickets, and the basic dining plan!

What is the Magic Moments rate?

Do you get the same AAA rate if you book through Disney instead of through AAA? I know- room only can book through Disney, which would be fine. I'd get seperate tickets and I don't want dining.

No the cm told me you have to book with AAA to get their discount, so we did.

This is what I did and I believe I received a good rate. Not sure if I got a discount fromm AAA, but I did get free dining.
I received most of my information from these boards, so last April I told my AAA TA we wanted to go again(went in 2007) to WDW and wanted to try to get the Free Dining offer. On the day the offer came out to the general public which I believe was April 11,2008 my AAA TA did the calling for me and kept me informed via e-mail and I got it. So when we were there in Sept. this year I took advantage of "Bounce Back" for free dining ( I didn't have the flyer in my room, but I had the phone ext.) I booked through Disney, reserved a package and put my deposit down. When I got home I wanted AAA to take over the details and now I have the same package that Disney offered plus some of the AAA benefits.

I don't want a package, just the room discount. Does that mean I have to book through AAA to get the AAA discount or can I make a room only reservation and ask the CM to apply the AAA discount? My local AAA office is closed-permanently.

you can get the AAA discount thru Disney with room only, not with a pkg. That is how it was last year when we used our AAA discount. Now, this may have changed, after all, Disney is notorious for changing the protocols at the drop of a hat!!

For a room only reservation you get the same discount booking directly with Disney as you would if you use a AAA travel agent. To get a package with the AAA discount, you must book it with a AAA travel agent.

I've been doing my AAA vs. Disney homework. Here's what I've found. Currently, I have All Star Movies (preferred room) for seven nights with 7 days of base tickets for two adults, two kids. The price Disney gave me was $1679. AAA Ohio said they could save me $215. I'd have to join ($50), so still saving me over $160. There's a form that AAA can fax me. By signing it, I authorize AAA to take over the reservation. This way, I won't lose my room because All Star Movies is sold out Jan 18-25. I'm waiting a couple of weeks to see if Disney has an offer for VISA cardholders to see what's better.
