The weather this morning was looking hit and miss but we decided to try the Zoo anyway. So first stop was the restaurant across the road for breakfast :)

Once again we had a great full breakfast with tea that set us up for the day. The walk to the Zoo was about 15 minutes and up a slight hill!

As admission is free I bought the map for $2 and we headed off to see the animals. The first animal we encountered was the sloth bear who was a really mixture between a bear and an anteater to look at!

After this we had a look around at some other animals.

Soon we found the pandas :goodvibes

The red panada was so sweet, asleep up the tree :)

Then we made our way through the Zoo and down the hill!

The meerkats were as entertaining as ever :teeth:

Then we went through the reptile and invertebrate houses, some were pretty.

Some were not so pretty!

Once at the bottom we found a cold drink before turning round and going back up! We took a different route back seeing more different animals as we went.

The cheetah and zebra enclosures looked too close for comfort for the zebra!

The zoo was a pleasant way to spend a day, but the hills were quite tiring around the park. It was now close to mid afternoon and the weather was overcast and very humid so we walked back to the hotel past some of the pretty houses.

A swim in the pool was on the cards but the sun was not out and it was spitting slightly with rain! As it was our anniversary today we wanted a nice meal and the cinema so headed off to Chinatown as the main cinema appeared to be close by at Chinatown/Gallery on the red line. We caught the Metro and it only cost about $2.80 return. First stop was the cinema and buying the tickets to see Terminator. After looking around various streets and not knowing where to eat Nathan over heard a lady who appeared local recommend to an elderly couple to try Tony Chengs across the road. So we thought this sounded good and headed there ourselves :thumbsup2

Even though it was only 5.30pm the restaurant soon filled up. Now the food was lovely and the appetiser called a PuuPuu tray, was a great way to taste many different items. On the tray we had tempura fried prawns, honey glazed spare ribs, spring egg rolls, shrimp toast and marinated beef on skewers.

We then opted for two mains to share on with duck hunan style and the other with chicken and snow peas.

By now it was still nearly an hour until the film started so we went and had a look in Bed, Bath and Beyond, wow they have some stuff! Then we grabbed an ice cream before going into the cinema. By the time we came out it was around 10pm so we went straight back to the hotel. Tomorrow we were planning on more museums.
