A warning about re-usable mugs!

So some people will use the same mug over again as long as it looks the same but not if they've changed the design? All that amounts to is I'll break the rules if I can't be caught. :rotfl:

Don't get me wrong. I really don't give a rat's *** what people do with their mugs. It just struck me funny that's it's ok if you won't get caught. :rotfl:

I use my refillable Coors keg and fill up on Coca-Cola. Disney gets it for free anyway, and nobody ever stops me. I fill up just before I leave, that way I have 15.5 gallons of soda to enjoy throughout the bitterly cold, South Florida winters.

Well I have been using my refillable mug from 3 years ago as my DDs bath cup, so I wont be brining it back. However I think it is silly to spend 13 dollars on a mug, so I am going to bring my mug from wal-mart!

I am not really going to bring my own mug, but really, why do people care so much what other people do? Would you really tell on someone because they were sharing a mug, or filling up an old DIS mug? I would put money on it that the CM that you told will say, "okay", and move about their business. In all honnesty, I thought you could reuse mugs until I joined disboards. Someone told me you could, and I took their word for it, and I guess I didn't read the sign.

Why should people care about others using old mugs? Why should people care about "making a salad at the fixings bar"?

Evenually, the Disney folks will be sitting in a conference room talking about how "we've already cut back on this, this, and this. Where else can we save costs at?"

Someone will pipe in with, we sell these refillable mugs for $xx and make some money on those, but a whole lot of people bring them back year after year and still use them.

Ok, we get rid of the refillable mugs and everyone has to just pay for each individual drink from now on.

That is how it always ends up eventually.

I stayed at ALL Star Music for one night in Dec 2007. I saw a boy around ten fill up one of those plastic popcorn buckets with Coke. The CM's said nothing. I was kind of entranced because there was still popcorn in the bucket. I figured if he is going to drink that with the popcorn in it than more power to him! :rotfl: :rotfl: :rotfl: He drank it. It was one of the grosses and strangely funniest things I had seen at WDW. :upsidedow

I think I've been up too late because this gave me a fit of uncontrollable giggles.

And if Disney doesn't care, I don't understand why so many other people seem to.

No kidding. My thought it it's probably only the people who weren't smart enough to have thought to do this themselves and ended up buying a whooooole lot of mugs. :rotfl:

Geesh people....There are far more serious things to be pissy about.

:thumbsup2 Love it!!! I agree. Until I am TOLD PERSONALLY by a DISNEY employee, not a disboarder with too much time on their hands, not to reuse my mug, I will be bringing them back as I always have.

im with you, id rather that people would complain about real issues like queue jumping and screaming teenage girls,............................and men with black socks halfway up their shins

We take 5 separate weeks of vacation in WDW and there is no way we are going to buy a new mug each visit...somehow I picture a landfill FULL of plastic mugs...and I agree, unless someone comes up and personally tells me NO, you can't use those, I am going to use them. One new one each year.
And even with one a year for each of us...14 mugs!!

Sorry folks, I just can't resist.

I bought a new mug this summer at Vero Beach. When staying at Kidani Village earlier this Autumn, I commented to the CM in the little shop there, that the mugs for Kidani were the same as for Vero.

Her response? "Yep! You should have brought your's with you!"

:rotfl::rotfl::rotfl:

So, regardless of what 'ya'll' natter on about, worrying about who is reusing what mug for what purpose really is a sad waste of time!

Boy Fixin bar police now coffee mug police! What's next how many ketchup packets you use or don't use?

Well stop acting like someone's life is in jeopardy. Get over it! It's just a friggin mug.
Seriously? Really? I think you might want to go back and read what I actually posted.

This tread isn't about whether to reuse mugs or not. The entire purpose of the thread is that her bag was searched, and her items broken. I would be calling and filing a claim because even though I agree with them searching, they should still respect the passengers personal property. How would they like it if I searched their locker and broke their favorite coffee mug and just went on with my day? I am willing to bet that they took the cover off and it probably fell on the ground and wasn't noticed. i would still call and and make it known.

And to all you mug police: just get over yourselves already. The issue has been hashed and rehashed enough. :) Stick to the main purpose and topic.
Thanks for that advice.

Am I the only one who misses the resort specific mugs? :sad1:
Yep, I do too.

No kidding. My thought it it's probably only the people who weren't smart enough to have thought to do this themselves and ended up buying a whooooole lot of mugs. :rotfl:

Geesh people....There are far more serious things to be pissy about.
Nice mentality. Guess I'm not smart enough then...I have close to 20 of the stupid things, but then again, I don't buy multiple tee shirts or mouse ears when I'm at WDW.

I don't think I ever said that anyone was 'breaking the law' by reusing their mugs. I don't think I ever said someones' life was in jeopardy. I don't think I ever got my 'panties in a bunch' and I know I didn't get all hissy or pissy about it. Someone asked about it, I merely stated what Disney (not DISers, but Disney) has posted in their food courts and wherever you can buy the stupid mugs. It is not a 'mug police' action to state what Disney has posted.
I don't care if you bring back your old mug...couldn't care any less at all. I do what is comfortable for me. What does frost me are those who bring their thermos or 7/11 Big Gulp and fill that at the beverage stations. Disney got no soda money from them...they have no business filling their non-WDW containers there...period. You can argue with that all you want.
There is too much angst about refillable mugs. It's just not worth the time it takes to give it much thought. Do what you want to do. All I did was post Disney's 'official' statement about it.

Man, is sure would be nice if Disney did the same thing the S/D do....when you use your refillable mug there, they actually remind you to remember to bring it back every time you come. There is no 'guessing' what is really meant. No 'discussion' as to whether or not it's allowed.....they are refillable for as many times as you want to return to their beverage stations...period. I doubt that they would allow you to fill up that thermos though, or a WDW mug. And that's the way it 'should' be.

Thread is way off topic,so I think it is time it is closed. Danny
