A Two Short, Too Different Spring Break Trip (Time to Say Goodbye)

Thanks everyone for the kind wishes! Toby is such a gorgeous little boy - just so so adorable!!! He's sleeping now and Daddy is out shopping so I have a rare moment to myself!

It was Mothers Day in the UK in March so I didn't get any best wishes then - so thank you all for the Mothers Day wishes!!!

xxx

Wonderful pictures!

Happy Mother's Day to you both!

I hope you had a great Mother's Day weekend, too, as you and your mom make your Disney trip plans!

The girls are SO cute! Happy Mother's Day to Jill and Memom!!! The Ohana lunch looks like a lot of fun - and a lot of good food! The picture of the four of you is SO sweet and you all look so happy to be together (I guess we'll pretend Bella is screaming with joy and excitement). Have a happy day!

We're always happy to be together. We took several pictures, and since Bella has other cute pictures, we sacrificed her for the sake of the one that looked most decent of me. (It still didn't work too well, as you can see. I'm not the photographic type.) She was trying to fall asleep, and when John was about to snap, Jill took the pacifier out of her mouth real quick. In that one, he took a little too long to snap, and that picture was the result. :)

Lovely picture of the Ladies. Great to see.

We had a grea brunch MeMom. A good time with family and friends and then the three of us took in a movie.

Nice simple family time - a great Mother's Day gift!

Leftovers are the best......:goodvibes

Yes, they are, and since I'll be doing Field Day all day today, they will be especially appreciated tonight.

What a lovely sentiment about being a Mother, I was a little teary relating to it.
You always have a beautiful way of expressing things, you should work for Halmark.
Awww, the pics of Brooklynn and Bella are adorable. I love the sweet little one with Bella asleep on Brooklynn. Just the cutest girls!
What a lovely gift.

Your O'Hana lunch sounds so good! I havn't had cocconut pie in forever, Yummy!
I love the decorations, little Tiki watching over the food and the palm in the background.

I wish I thought of that idea.

Thanks for coming out of the shadows today and giving us a pic of all the girls together. Very nice, you sure do look alike.

My Mothers Day has been great! I got a handmade card with clay figures & hearts on it. It even had a clay lock to hold it closed. Very special, I love it.
I got a new fushia pink handbag, so pretty! It was full of Disney board game dollars as a joke.
My son managed to stroll in at about 10am for brunch and said "Happy Mothers Day"...I'm happy he remembered.

We had a nice brunch. Blueberry pancakes, bacon, pan fried potatoes w/fresh chives, fruit and guava juice. Yumm!

I got my DMom the coolest strawberry plant in a hanging basket. It already has lots of flowers and berries started. And some gardening books, tools, garden decorations for her pond.

We didn't venture out to the Tulip Festival, it was damp and cold. The weather didn't co operate today. :sad2:

I spent some time this afternoon trying to figure out which ADR's to do when...it was a lot of fun.
I think I have it figured out.

Diner has arrived....we are cheating....no healthy stuff today....no cooking....pizza, wings (honey garlic), ceasar salad, pop and cake. Fabulous!! :woohoo:

Oh I forgot to say, we are eating on my new disney plates!!!! :yay:

I'm glad we are friends too.

Hmmm, I wonder if Hallmark pays well and allows for many vacation days???

I just lucked up on finding the tiki dude, and I laughed at myself for buying him, but I think he's kinda cool. How many people do we know that had a tiki guy at the Mother's Day table?

Your brunch sounds good! I thought about doing breakfasty-type food, but Trent said chicken, so we went that way with it.

Your gifts were sweet. Brooklynn gave Jill a few Disney dollars for the trip.

I'm going to need pictures of the Disney plates, please!!! :cool1:

What a looker!! thanks for sharing and happy first Mothers Day!

Isn't he? Jill is already planning on hooking him up with Bella!
He is a cutie pie!

Those pics for MeMom came out awesome Jill! Are those from Sears?

Happy Mother's Day to all the readers out there. Remember, you provide the magic to your family each day by being the wonderful mothers, grandmothers, and godmothers you are.

The real pictures turned out great. I love them! Both girls are being very cooperative in all of them. I'm going to put the ones Jill gave me in a collage frame, I think.

Love the picture of Brooklyn and Bella on the rose petals! Did you tear up when you saw the pictures, MeMom?

What a yummy lunch! You all always have such great Disney themed meals!

I loved my pictures! Pictures are the best gifts for me.

The Disney touches just make things a little more fun. We also like to do it to bug the guys. ;)

In June, we'll be having a POP party for Father's Day.

Happy Mother's Day Memom and Jill :flower3: I am a new reader to your trip reports. I have finished the first one Baby and a Tramp and am half way thru the 10 Day Ride on a Magic camel. I am just loving your trip reports. The Mother's Day pics of the girls are just adorable and I really liked the one of the 4 of you.

We hope you'll stick around and not be scared off by some of our craziness!

I need to go back and read the old reports sometimes, just for fun.

Happy Mother's Day Jill and Memom,

Memom, I loved what you wrote about being a mom I sure do identify. It was beautiful.

Jill, how special for you to be blessed twice on this mother's day with 2 precious little girls. It was so great that you could spend the day with your mom on such a wonderful day, I wish I could of shared this day with my mom but she lives too far away.
You are truly blessed, enjoy your day

I figured most moms could relate to the random thoughts.

All of us are blessed in so many ways! I wish you and your mom could have been together, too, and I know there will be special times for you to do that in the future.

Love the pictures of the girls, they are so sweet.Bella is getting bigger you can tell in the pics.

Hope you had a fantastic Mother's Day!

We did!
I'm sure you did, too, and I bet there was some trip planning talk somewhere in your day!

I hope you had a wonderful Mother's Day!!:lovestruc

If Drew had been home earlier, it would have been perfect, but he didn't get in until around eight.

Oh, and if we had all been in Disney World, that would have been beyond perfect. ;)

He is so cute!!! I hope you had a wonderful Mother's Day

Toby has quite a fan club already, doesn't he?

He is PRECIOUS!!!! :goodvibes

Nice to know.....I can only imagine there are many pro's and con's to both.....so maybe if you can wrap them in bubble wrap they would be easier??

...that was SO sweet. I don't even have any kiddo's but that got me teary eyed and made me imagine many wonderful things

I got to celebrate today with Matt's mom. It was lots of fun! My mom is out of town and we did mother's day with my side of the family last weekend

I hope you and Jill had a WONDERFUL Mothers day!!! And the picture of the 4 of you guys is precious! I loved seeing it!! :goodvibes

There are definitely pros and cons to each, but they are both wonderful!

I'm glad you got to have two Mother's Day celebrations. I like spreading out the fun!

I agree!! You can always stay at our house, just an hour away from the Mall of America.

And speaking of "mini-Disney trip" we kinda did that today at the Mall of America! We hit up the amusement park for one ride for Henry-big trucks that go in a circle. He LOVED it. And of course we hit the Disney store up. Thankfully we had a gift card so we didn't spend too much out of pocket. We heard the "bus/monorail voice" guy do an announcment and both Joe and I looked at each other wistfully. We were back for just a moment as we paused and listed. :cloud9:

And MeMom, bathing the cat?!!? Whoa. You are a brave woman.
I read you note on how you bathe the cat. I'm amazed. You have a very nice cat!

I love the pictures of the girls, and the family shot! I do pray that Bella starts to feel better soon. Poor thing. It's so hard when they are little and they don't understand why they don't feel good. :guilty:

And I'm with ya on the leftovers. THAT is the best kind of Mothers Day gift! It stretches all the way into the coming week. :thumbsup2

I am going to get to the Mall of America someday. Do you have a Henry Visits the Mall of America picture to share?

There have been times that we've been in the Disney Store and they've had Soarin' playing. It was instant happiness! :)

I don't do cat baths often, but I don't want any fleas in this house, so I just make him go through the torture occasionally to keep that from happening.

I hope the doctor will give Jill something today to give Bella some relief.

Thanks everyone for the kind wishes! Toby is such a gorgeous little boy - just so so adorable!!! He's sleeping now and Daddy is out shopping so I have a rare moment to myself!

It was Mothers Day in the UK in March so I didn't get any best wishes then - so thank you all for the Mothers Day wishes!!!

xxx

You're not the only one who thinks he's cute, as you can tell by all of these gushing mommies on here!

How are you feeling? Is he sleeping and eating the way you want him to?

Glad we could fill you up with Mother's Day wishes, since you missed yours. Next year, you get two - the official UK one, and then the one you'll share with us!

Well, I'm off to the battlefield!
Or the football field.

There will be: sack races and water balloon tosses and climbing inflatables.
-50 yard dashes and weaving in and out of cones.
- playing board games and watching movies.
- eating hamburgers and snowcones and popcorn.
- waiting in lines for bathrooms and water fountains.
- oohing and aahing over little brothers and sisters who are visiting.

Then we'll head home and crash in our beds.

Well, I'll come home and crash in my bed.
My students will probably still be bouncing off the walls when they get home.

I'll be glad tonight that I'm not the parent of a third-grader. ;)

Have a great start of the week, everyone!

Love the pictures of the girls - especially the one of Brooklynn holding Bella with her tongue sticking out. :goodvibes

MeMom - loved your thoughts on motherhood and you are so right. I am so blessed to have three beautiful children who call me "Mama." Hope your Mother's Day was wonderful (it looks like it was).

And have fun with field day! :thumbsup2

Aww!!! I love my final Mother's Day gift - pic of MeMom and her girls.

Those pics for MeMom came out awesome Jill! Are those from Sears?

Happy Mother's Day to all the readers out there. Remember, you provide the magic to your family each day by being the wonderful mothers, grandmothers, and godmothers you are.

JCPenney. The same lady has done all of Brooklynn's pictures and has done a fantastic job with her at every age. WE told her if she ever leaves she will have to let us know because we will be following her.

MeMom got pictures of the girls for Mother's Day. We wanted to share them with you.

Happy Mother's Day to all!!!!!

Oooh, those pictures are adorable!!!!!!! I love the one of Bella laying on Brooklyn's back! So cute!!!!

OH MY GOSH!!!! What an awesome picture!!!! I have to say this, MeMom you don't look old enough to have grandbabies! You and Jill look like sisters! :goodvibes

I thought the tongue picture was cute, too!

Field day was a little chaotic. I'm glad to be at home now. Only the cat is here, so it's nice and quiet.

Aww gorsh! Thanks, but I am plenty old enough to be a grandma. I'm just fortunate that my hair hasn't turned gray like a lot of my friends, but that's deceiving, because I'm still every bit as old!

HAPPY MOTHERS DAY!!! Great pictures of you guys.

I hope it was a nice day over on the other side of Nashville. It was pretty good over here.

Look at those 4 gorgeous girls!!! Happy Mother's Day Jill and MeMom! :)

Thanks. I'm sure you had a great day with all of your bunch, too.

Oh, this is adorable!

Jill said Brooklynn thought it was quite funny to have Bella on her back.

The pictures of the girls are great. Thanks for sharing the one with MeMom.

Now we have had our MeMom quota for a while.
Quite a while.

Field Day is over, thank heavens. The inflatables station was great, but a lot of it was unorganized. There were too many activities to fit into the time slots, and things got backed up at some places. All in all, we had fun. I'm sure the kids will have happier versions of the day than will the teachers, but we all survived.

Now, back to Animal Kingdom.

I'm not really sure why I took this picture of Kay filling her water bottle.

disney3-18-09beginningHSAK264.jpg

Maybe because the water fountain was unique.
It's random, anyway. I'm sure there was a reason at the time, but I've forgotten.

We wanted to see the gorillas, so we found ourselves in just the right place.

disney3-18-09beginningHSAK265.jpg

Some warnings for those who seek adventure.

disney3-18-09beginningHSAK266.jpg

I had read that a new Colobus monkey had been born within the past few weeks, and I was hoping to see it.

disney3-18-09beginningHSAK267.jpg

That's the mom, and the little white fluff is the baby. That's all we got to see of it.

disney3-18-09beginningHSAK268.jpg

These guys were grooming each other.

disney3-18-09beginningHSAK269.jpg

An okapi.

disney3-18-09beginningHSAK273.jpg

You know full well, if you have been on even one safari ride, that these are not kin to zebras.

An information board and a Hidden MeMom.

disney3-18-09beginningHSAK274.jpg

Did you also see the Hidden Kay looking bored as I took the picture?
I bet she thought so many times, "What the heck is she taking a picture of now???"

I knew that you would all want to see the skeleton of an African bullfrog, of course.

disney3-18-09beginningHSAK275.jpg

Then it was on to the meerkats who are ever on the alert.

disney3-18-09beginningHSAK277.jpg

disney3-18-09beginningHSAK278.jpg

Could this be Bigfoot?

disney3-18-09beginningHSAK280.jpg

Maybe not, but it kind of looks like some of those fuzzy Bigfoot pictures I've seen before.

Gorillas are fascinating to watch.

disney3-18-09beginningHSAK282.jpg

disney3-18-09beginningHSAK285.jpg

disney3-18-09beginningHSAK286.jpg

disney3-18-09beginningHSAK287.jpg

I think I have shown this before, but I'll show it in case I haven't. It explains a little about the way they have things set up.

disney3-18-09beginningHSAK288.jpg

disney3-18-09beginningHSAK289.jpg

A thank you and encouragement to protect the creatures of this earth.

disney3-18-09beginningHSAK290.jpg

Next up:

disney3-18-09beginningHSAK291.jpg

More animals, and some very different tiger pictures.

For whatever reason, I was taking a picture of the way out before I even went in.

disney3-18-09beginningHSAK292.jpg

Once we got to Conservation Station, we made a pit stop.
This is a tile in the restroom.

disney3-18-09beginningHSAK293.jpg

Some pertinent information that might win you a million dollars on a game show at some time in the future.

disney3-18-09beginningHSAK294.jpg

A Hidden Mickey.

disney3-18-09beginningHSAK295.jpg

Minnie at work.

disney3-18-09beginningHSAK296.jpg

There seems to be a theme in this place!

disney3-18-09beginningHSAK297.jpg

This guy entertained us with more 'pooey' info while we waited for the morning's procedure.

disney3-18-09beginningHSAK298.jpg

I don't remember what animal that pooey belonged to.
An elephant probably, or maybe a hippo.

Or a dinosaur.

In the back room of the procedure area, we saw activity. We were lucky this morning, because we were going to get to see a tiger!

disney3-18-09beginningHSAK300.jpg

disney3-18-09beginningHSAK302.jpg

disney3-18-09beginningHSAK303.jpg

disney3-18-09beginningHSAK306.jpg

And then they brought her out of the back room into the front.

disney3-18-09beginningHSAK307.jpg

The pictures can't properly show how cool this was to see.

disney3-18-09beginningHSAK308.jpg

disney3-18-09beginningHSAK309.jpg

disney3-18-09beginningHSAK310.jpg

disney3-18-09beginningHSAK311.jpg

That was the coolest procedure I have seen up to now.

Maybe next time they'll bring in an elephant or a hippo.

Or a dinosaur. :)

Great AK pictures, we have never taken the time to go into Rafiki's! That is on the must do list now, so very cool!
Love the hidden MeMom and the African Bullfrog skeleton!

It has been a very frustrating day today. I was taking Bella to the doctor to get some medicine for her reflux. Appointment was at 9:00 I left the house at 8:15 got in teh car, turned the key, and NOTHING! Called John and told him and then started walking down the street with Bella in her car seat to a house of a lady John has helped out before. She was headed out the door so I hollered halfway down the street to see if she could jump me. She did and I was on the way to the doctor a few minutes late. I called and they said no problem. At the doctor I got Bella's prescription and found out she is now a whole 9 lbs even! As I was leaving I tried to schedule Brooklynn's 3 year appt and Bella's 4 month appt (August 16th and 5th) I wanted to get them on the same day back to back. Well I can't because Brooklynn's last check up was in September and they have to schedule her next one for one year and one day later. I said okay and asked to schedule Bella's 4 month for August 4th since I'm already off work that day (a day to recuperate from our trip before returning to work and school) She schedules it and then looks at a chart and says "oh no I can't schedule it for the 4th because she is getting shots and she can't get them until she really is 4 months" so August 5th it is. I left the doctor and headed to Target to get the prescription filled. I got the medicine and headed out, put Bella in the car, turned the key and NOTHING!!!! I called John's cell - voicemail, office - voicemail, lab 1 - not there, lab 2 - not there either. John has one of those jobs with security clearance so a lot of times I have to leave a message and wait for him to get it and call back so that is what I did. He called back pretty quickly and luckily I was right around the corner from his work. He came and jumped me off and then we went to Auto Zone to have the battery tested. I needed a new one and now I have one!

'nnnnnnnnnnnnnnnnbbbbbbbbbbbbbbbbbbbbbbbbbbbbbbbbbbbbbbbbbbbbbbbbbbbbbbbbbbbbbbbbbbbbbbbbbbbbbbbbbbbbbbbbbbbbbbbbbbbbbbbbbbbbbbbbbbbbbbbbbbbbbbbbbbbbbbbbbbbbbbbbbbbbbbbbbbbb

Brooklynn says "HI!" She is waving at the computer screen.:wave2:

I love the poo facts! They made me chuckle.

How awesome that you were able to see a Tiger. I am going to have to bring Mom back there, I think she'd love it. :thumbsup2

Jill....hope your day got better once you got home. And I hope the meds work for Bella's reflux (is she fussy at all--like alot??) Caleb was that way and obviously majorly spitting up but they finally took him off meds when he was 3 mos because he was not fussy anymore even though he STILL majorally spits up. Someone the other day said he kid did it til he was 2 yrs old...I was like don;t tell me that...I'm just waiting for the day when Calebs clothes are completely spat up food colored. Its got to end sometime right??

 (Me waving back at brooklyn!)

Jill, sorry to hear about your frustrating day -- it always seems like not just one, but a whole bunch of things happen on days like that, doesn't it? Hope things calmed down for you once you got home.

MeMom, if I was wavering at all about doing the walking trails or Conservation Station (I wasn't really wavering, but we can pretend ;)), your pictures would sell me on them for sure! That tiger procedure is super cool!!! I hope we get to see something just as neat!

I'm glad to hear and see that you both had a great mother's day! Jill, I saw those pictures of the girls on facebook and I was going to ask you why you didn't put them on here because they're all so precious!! :cutie: And what a GREAT picture of all 4 of you, I think even MeMom might be pleased with that one  Sorry to hear you had a rough morning today Jill! At least everythings fixed with the car now.

MeMom, I love the AK pictures. That tiger procedure is amazing! How cool to get to see that up close and personal. :thumbsup2

Jill what a frustrating day. At least it is taken care of now.

MeMom check off Field Day- I know that it is something that makes me think the end is really coming!

MeMom and Jill, glad you had a Happy Mother's Day! I love the picture of the 4 of you together, it turned out great!

Enjoyed seeing the pictures of the tiger. I bet that was neat to see in person.
