There you are! Last day's are so terrible. I'm sorry you didn't get to go to MK but am glad you had a good time anyways!!
Oh thats a shame you couldn't go to MK on your last night, but I have a sneaky suspicion that you have something up your sleeve in the next post
Great shots of CSR btw![]()
That was SO craptastic that you didn't get to meet back up with us.. what was even crappier was that we thought the parks were open much later thn they were that night!
We will HAVE to make up for this next year! Can't wait to start that planning!
So sorry your last night wasn't what you had hoped for. That was nice, though, that Joe came out and swam with you all!
Denise
Great update.
I understand about the cake. We were forced to leave some behind too.
I ended up getting four CD's! Yay, me. I got SpectroMagic, Wishes, Four Parks, One World and the Magic Kingdom Event Party Music CD.
Too stinkin' bad lady. Get some real shoes and carry your own one little bag!
We bought magazines and I got some Florida jelly as I call it and then headed to the gate for our flight home.
Final days of the trip suck.
But for us on the dis it normally means one thing....planning for the next time![]()
I hate PDD (Post Disney Depression). That should seriously be a real disease since so many of us have to deal with it after our trips! The CD's you got sound awesome and I definitely need to grab a couple when I'm there!
Those are on my "to buy" list, too!
I hope this isn't too stupid, but what is Florida jelly?
They have this Florida citrus marmalade and jelly at the airport. It's local stuff and honestly, it's amazing. The one that I got this time was lemon marmalade. It's expensive as heck, but worth it.![]()
I have just spend the whole afternoon reading your TR and loved every minute of it! Thanks for putting so much time into it. I have got lots more ideas for my trip next year, especially with the Tip Envelopes. I love love love them!!
About the Pixie Dust; I managed to pick some up (unexpectantly) at my local Disney Store when I bought gift boxes. The box came with disney tissue paper, disney stickers and pixie dust. I don't know if they only do it in the UK but you may want to try your Disney Store.
Thanks again for the TR!!!

So they are!! We should maybe do that - sounds like you are as big a planner as I am and like to throw surprises. My sister doesn't even know about this trip yet...I'm keeping it as a christmas secret. I love surprises!I just noticed something............
Our tickers have the EXACT same arrival date for next year! We should do a little meet if you are interested.
So here it is, our lat morning of the trip.I was so hoping that my post-Disney depression would at least wait until I got home.
We got up and were ready to head out fairly early. I so wanted to go to a park but DAK had early morning EMH and Joe wasn't really up for that. I knew that I had to do something to get him to stop somewhere, anywhere before we headed to the airport for our flight at noon.
Well, guess what? I suggested Earl of Sandwich for breakfast!Yeah, that did it! I got to go to DTD one last time.
We had breakfast at Earl which I have decided is one of my favorite places to eat. I of course was cramming mine down because I wanted one last adventure in the Christmas Shop and World of Disney. I was also on a mission to find the CD's for MNSSHP which I learned was only at the Toy Store.
As I rushed everyone through breakfast, I had a plan in my head. First, Christmas Shop, then Toy Store, then WoD. We only made it to the Toy Store, believe it or not!
Joe suggested going there first since I really wanted the CD. I was trying to hurry through the place and I could tell that he was getting mad and my mom was totally confused. I figured, eh, at least I got HERE so we may as well take our time. I ended up getting four CD's! Yay, me. I got SpectroMagic, Wishes, Four Parks, One World and the Magic Kingdom Event Party Music CD. I play them all day in my office.
We ended up in Once Upon a Toy until it was time to leave for the airport. We stopped at Hess to get gas in the rental car and headed out. I was so depressed that I couldn't even get myself to take pictures! Ugh, here we go.......
We had so much freaking luggage that I knew we were going to need an airport porter. OMG, we waited for 15 minutes for one! That was the first time ever that there weren't a zillion of them all over the place. By this time Joe was getting frustrated. He actually walked over to the arrivals to see if he could find someone to bring back to the rental car place. There was one guy. He got him to come over and some stupid lady in 5 inch heels and one freaking bag tried to flag him down! OMG, there was no way after waiting there for 15 minutes with 12 pieces of luggage (including carryon bags) that we were gonna let her steal him away. Yeah, she got mad.
Too stinkin' bad lady. Get some real shoes and carry your own one little bag!
Once we got to the ticket counter we started to print our boarding passes when yes, you guessed it, first class was available again! We jumped that the chance since I knew Joe's back would be much better in the larger seats.
We paid our porter handsomely (I think Joe gave him 30 or 40 bucks) and he took care of all of the bags. We didn't have to take them to TSA like we normally do and I thought that was odd. He did that for us.
Joe and I fly CLEAR and we were bummed when we learned that they no longer offer that service in any of our airports. We got in the HUGE line for security and waited our turn. Once we got through we headed to the fake monorail again to make our way to the gate. I wanted to get a magazine and check out all of the upgrades they made to that part of the airport. Joe and I left our bags with mom and went over to the little shop to see what they had. We bought magazines and I got some Florida jelly as I call it and then headed to the gate for our flight home.
Our flight home was great. We had good weather and once we were on the plane we were looking forward to getting home.
I will do one last installment with final thoughts, what I learned this trip and my do's and don'ts for next year's bounceback.
Aww, your last day too. You know I hate that last day.
I am jealous you got the event party CD. I keep meaning to buy that but never do. Hopefully they'll still have it in April otherwise I'll be telling my family to pick it up for me when they go in January. haha
So they are!! We should maybe do that - sounds like you are as big a planner as I am and like to throw surprises. My sister doesn't even know about this trip yet...I'm keeping it as a christmas secret. I love surprises!
Well at least you got to go DTD one last time.
Glad the flight home was ok.
Thanx again for sharing with us, I have really enjoyed reading along![]()
I SWORE I replied to this when I read it the other day.. I must be going crazy
Anywho, I was glad you were able to get to try EoS for breakfast..I'm even happier that it was amazing! It may have to be our must do on our last day next year!! Do they make lunch sandwiches then too??
I'm looking forward to your final thoughts!
So, I have been dragging this out as long as possible so I don't sink into my post Disney depression. Now that the holidays are just about here, I have something to keep my mind busy. I'm still debating a PTR for next year. Not sure what I will do but I have lots of plans in my head since it will be our 10 year anniversary trip.
looking forward to reading about these plans!!
Flying 1st Class
We got lucky this year and were able to fly first class there and back. I am now spoiled and will forever want to do the same, each and every trip! Let's hope we are lucky again next year.
that WAS luck!
Rental Car vs. ME
Although I have never tried ME, I think we will ALWAYS get a rental car. It is just so nice to have the freedom to go here and there and never have to worry about wasting precious time waiting for either ME or the resort buses. I hear too many people say that they lose a lot of time on their last day because of when they need to meet ME to get to the airport. Guess what...it's around 30 minutes from WDW people. That means more park time.
yes, car all the way! I love that disney offers transport, but I love my car better lol
Firsts
Disney with Friends - I so enjoyed planning our vacation with Jenn. The two of us put our heads together and planned out some awesome surprises. I think we learned a lot too about each other over the course of our vacation. Next year we will be staying at different resorts and I'm a bit bummed about that and hope that we can schedule days together. We were able to just about everything that interested both of our families which was nice. It's not always possible with a large group. I'm looking forward to pin trading next year after seeing how much fun Jenn's family was having!
I'm bummed about not staying at the same place too..just made things more magical to be able to just knock on your door! we will miss that sorely
Wishes Desert Party - This was FABULOUS. I would do it each and every time if it were to be offered. OMG is pretty much all that I can say about this. And the fact that I got a fist full of pixie dust makes it even better.
I'll have to disagree about this. i loved it, but it isn't something I feel like i would have to book if it came out again. i did have fun though!
Wishes Cruise - I was a bit worried when I first booked this. I don't know why. Maybe it was the cost? This though, is something that I wish we would have done sooner. It was spectacular. If I can afford to do it again, I most definitely will do so.
NOW this, I can not thank you enough for including on this! SO MUCH FUN! and just pure MAGIC!
Specialty Cakes - I truly loved the flavor of our cake from GF Bakery. One thing though, if I am honest, that I was not thrilled with, was the bow on top.I hated it. I wish that it would have been a regular, fabric bow instead. The taste though, was to die for! YUM. I will definitely try another specialty cake next year.
idk what you are talking about, but i liked the bow.. i liked everything about that cake!
Being Trusted with the Ring - never before have I been able to take part in an engagement surprise. John trusted Joe and I with the ring that he would give to Jenn mid-way through our trip. It was so much fun to be a part of that surprise.
I can't thank you enough for being part of that and keeping that secret! Truly a mmeory that will NEVER be forgotten!
Dining with Large Groups - I think that Disney can do this better. I was disappointed that each and every ressie that we had, we were split up. The largest our party got was 12 people. I KNOW that they have tables for 12 in some of the places we dined at, but they still split us up. I think I would have felt better knowing that in advance. I'm sure they probably tell you that when you make your ADRs over the phone, but still, I think that they should have some sort of accommodation for larger parties to be able to dine together.
yes, I agree, while our parties of 7 were always seated together, it owuld have been great for us all to be put together always! that ticked me off! but we had good group and everyone got along great, so that was nice!
GF Cafe - I am so sorry that we did not try GFC sooner. We had our anniversary dinner there and it is now a must do.
Kouzzina -... that's all I can say about that.
I'm sure that there were other 'first' on our ADR list, but these are the ones that stand out for me.
Planning Breaks During the Day - This was the first year that I built breaks into our daily schedule. I needed to for both Joe and my mom. Part of me missed Disney "commando' style, but I knew that I had to build in breaks for them. Next year, I hope to be a bit more independent. In other words, if some of the family want to take a break, they can, but if I feel like going, for the first time, I am going to try and go on my own if I want to. Honestly, that scares me, but there were so many things that I didn't get to do that I wanted to do this year so maybe the answer for me is that I need to go off on my own.
I had breaks in my sched.. but didn't follow them like i should have. john and i are going to go thorugh this last trip and try to really fine tune next years trip!
Our Resort - CSR
The CM that checked us in was awesome. I was hoping that this would be a sign of how we felt about the resort.
Our room was a referb and the decor was nice. I enjoyed being able to close the doors and let Joe sleep while I got ready in the morning.
I loved having a window to decorate. Lame, I know, but that was what I was looking forward to as the majority of the time, Joe and I stay deluxe and we don't have a window so I was so pumped to make my little decorations, get lights, etc. since I could actually use them!
CSR looks fabulous....at night. During the day it's just way too........brown........or something. I wasn't thrilled with the resort at all. Would I stay there again if I had to...yes, but not if I had a choice. I could take it or leave it to be honest. My mother, on the other hand, has said that she will never stay there again. She didn't like it at all and I think the last straw for her was the service mix up where they thought she wanted to move and then sent a zillion, well, not a zillion, but you know what I mean, people to her door late at night.![]()
The Pepper Market was ok, at best. I think Olde Port Royale at CBR is a million times better. There is a lot more of a selection and it's not so confusing like I found The Pepper Market to be.
The shop at CBR blows away whatever the shop was called at CSR. I was not impressed with their shop at all. CBR's is HUGE and one would thing that the shop at CSR would be as well, especially given the amount of conventions that place has.
What we did like though, and will go back to, was Maya Grill. Fabulous dinner for us. Don't know if we just got lucky or what, but Joe definitely wants to go back and so do I.
I loved the pool area, even though we didn't swim. Yep, doesn't make sense, but I think what I loved most about it, was the time we spent there with Jenn and her family.
Being able to stay near Jenn and her family was the BEST part of CSR for us. It was awesome for us to have three rooms in a row.
So, final thoughts on CSR....eh, it was okay.
I have to disagree again! we LOVED it there! Hopefully we will love it just as much with you guys not being tere![]()

Regrets
Not riding BTMRR - I wanted to, but never got around to it
Not riding Splash more than once
Not planning my MNSSHP party day better so that I wasn't exhausted half way through
Not riding Soarin - never got to that one either
Not eating more school bread
So, that's it. Thanks for joining me on my TR. My head is spinning with new ideas for next year. And to think, I'm under the 300 day mark already.![]()
