I really hope all works out and you get your mini trip with Brooklynn. I wish I was closer and I could tag along and be the second adult. What about your future DIL? Could she go with you? I'm sure Kay will find a way, us women always do.
Okay a confession, I don't really like the drop on Splash Mounain.

I do go on it for DS. I really enjoy the ride itself, the song but not that drop. I even tried to ride it twice last time in a row but, still scared. I think that is part of the fun for DS, getting to tease me. I regret not getting the ride photo, I forgot to go back because I didn't have my wallet with me on the ride.
Now, Big Thunder Mountain I love!!!
Brooklynn is so precious sleeping in her stroller. She looks so peacefull. She managed to get comfortable, even if it meant sideways. Too cute.
Looks like you do have a full plate at school, I can't imagine how you could keep up.

have it hard, I had no idea.
Actually, Trent and Kristi seem to be taking a break from each other right now. There were some issues that they weren't seeing eye to eye on, so they're taking some time apart, at least for now. That has changed the dynamics of our Thanksgiving trip, and instead of Kristi, Trent's buddy, Jarvis, is coming along. He's very excited about the trip, as he has not been to Disney World in a long time. Both of them are especially excited about the food!
I really hope Kay can go in March, because she needs a break from many of the stresses in her life, too. The original trip was to be she and her grandson and me and Brooklynn, but her grandson now lives out in Colorado, and he won't be going after all. I think it might be making her feel a little sad that she won't have her grandson with her, so we may be altering that trip, too.
It may end up that I just do something else with Brooklynn - just let her come up here and do some things for a few days by herself with me and the boys, and then Kay and I take an adult trip to WDW. That way Kay won't feel sad, Brooklynn doesn't care what she's doing anyway, because she's going to be spoiled with me wherever she is, and John would be happier. He's not thrilled about the idea of me taking her to Disney World. He's doing the 'what if...?' stuff, but what he might not recall is that he is half of a team raising
one child so far, and I raised
three alone, and I never lost any of them. I'm not sure why he's so fearful, because I seem to have kept up with several hundred kids, probably thousands over the years at schools and camps, and yet he doesn't trust me to watch the one kid I love most in this world.
Oh well, if we do it that way - Kay will have fun, we'll both get a break, Brooklynn and I can go to the Family Fun Center up here, which will be new to her, John will be happy, etc. If we do that, I have to get Jill to promise that we can take another Christmas girls' trip

like we did last year. Or if AvaGarrett is a Garrett, then a girls and baby trip.
We'll see what happens with all of that in time. Jill is fine with whatever I decide is best. She knows that Brooklynn will have fun with me and her uncles if she comes up here, and she could see her little cousins, too, or she's fine with me taking her to Disney World. After all, she is one of the kids I managed not to lose.
Hey Sweet lady!!!! Love the Splash Mountain pics---that is one of my all-time favorite rides!!! I wanted to post this awhile back but forgot to----the update with the Terror at the Barnstormer made me laugh so hard!!! Not only did I laugh at the play-by-play horrified pictures of Brooklyn through the ride (thinking of them again just made me laugh again!), and then the priceless commentary of the doting grandmother (reminded me all too much of the reaction my own mother would have had), but the tops was the recount of the story of how your father jumped out and scared you when you were a child------I was eating lunch when I was reading it, and my "snort-laugh" almost caused me to choke!!! I couldn't stop laughing---the visual your story created just cracked me up!!!! Thanks for giving me so much laughter out of one update!!!! You are the best!
I wish to not be responsible for your untimely death on top of the torment we have already caused to Brooklynn.
Please, in the future, swallow before reading.
By the way, was anybody around to hear the snort-laugh? Dontcha just hate it when you do that in front of people?!?!?!?
Thanks for the ride down my favorite mountain! I love that ride. Disney Imagineering at its finest.
It's a good one.
Everybody's got a laughing place, a laughing place, to go-ho-ho!
I saw Song of the South as a kid, and I'd like to see it again, but it's put away forever, I guess. There are foreign copies, but they say they don't play right on American DVDs or tape players or whatever.
So critter elixir is all one needs to cure flat feet?!?!?
And here I am sending all my patients to the orthopedic doctor, then to the orthotist, and making them wear inserts in their shoes. And all I needed to do was give them some critter elixir!
Oh how I wish!
Yep, so put those doctors on warning - if word gets out, their jobs are toast!
Thanks for letting me tag along in the log, MeMom!!! I have been doing my best Brer Rabbit voice (in my head) all day long!
Good thing it was in your head. I'm pretty sure people who were to hear you singing
We're visiting our laughing place, Yuk, yuk, yuk, yuk, yuk!
might think you were a little, let's say...psycho!
Was it yesterday you stayed home or today? I got all lost over there in your trip binder drama, so I don't remember if you were out yesterday or today.
Yay! I love Splash Mountain!
Sing along, then!
Honey and rainbows on our way,
We laugh because our work is play.
Boy are we in luck!
We're visiting our laughing place,
(all the crazies join in now)
Yuk, yuk, yuk, yuk, yuk!
*********************************************
So we were done with bears and 'brers' and briars.
The crowds were looking like this:
so we decided it was time for us to get out of there.
A little Main Street entertainment on the way out.
They were sort of letting people know just what was going down in Magical Kingdom on that very hot, crowded day.
We headed for Disney transportation to take us away.
We didn't take this:
Doesn't that just like the little Matchbox version of the Disney bus that you play with. It looks like you could just reach right down there and pick it up and start playing with it.
Vroom, vroom, screech!
But you can't.
It's a real bus.
A big one.
It's an optical ill-ooooo-zion!
Didn't take a boat, either.
We took the monorail.
We went to this beautiful place.
This is a grand and elegant and regal-ish place.
We don't look like we really belong here, but we like to visit.
I'm pretty sure we give off some kind of green glow that clearly announces that we are visitors when we wander around in such a magnificent place in our five dollar
Walmart shorts.
I took a picture of the pretty doors on the potties.
Yeah, that's a pretty good sign I didn't really belong there.
Such a pretty place.
Next up, we eat.
