What a great start to your trip! I wasn't crazy about the breakfast fare at Akershus, myself. I think we will go for dinner next time. Jenjolt seemed to really enjoy it.

Oooh... it makes me so mad thinking about the people cutting in front of poor Maddie when she was trying to take a picture in the shark's mouth!!!! Why are people so inconsiderate?

Oh, and Belle was so pretty!!!!

Madison is not the type to push through other kids or to even tell them that she's been waiting. So, my DH had had enough and went back there so she could take a picture. You can see his polo shirt through Bruce's mouth!!!

I'm so loving your TR. EPCOT is a close tie with MK for my favorite park. Our DS's absoluetly FAVORITE ride is Spaceship Earth (he just turned 6). What day were you at Epcot? I think we crossed paths alot - I know we were at the MK together on Monday.

Hi everyone. I won't be posting another update for a few more days. My great aunt passed away today. Earlier today, my mom had called to tell me she wasn't doing very well and then an hour later she called again. She turned 85 in November and everyone in the family pitched in and bought her a Wii. She loved to play Wii bowling. She's been the matriarch of our family since my grandmother passed away when I was 15. I have a lovely picture of her, my mom, myself and Madison....4 generations. My grandfather passed away 3 years ago, so now that whole generation is no longer with us on my mom's side.

Sorry to continue with the bad news....on Monday, I was told that my grandfather on my father's side (we call him Poppa) has cancer. The bad news just doesn't end. I'm very worried because my Poppa takes care of my grandmother (we call her Mimi). Not that she's sick or anything (she has diabetes but nothing else), but I don't know what she would do without him. They've been married for 63 years. I just ask that you keep me and my family in your prayers.

Thank you all very much for your prayers and all of your support. I know yesterday I said I wasn't going to post an update for a few more days....but I'm going to post one right now. I don't have to go into Syracuse until Sunday, so I have more time on my hands than I anticipated. I don't want to leave you all in suspense and I need to cheer myself up. So.....an update is coming right up!

Meghan -- You have alot going on right now, so it's good to take a minute for yourself and do something that will make you happy. I know it sounds counterintuitive, but when everything around you is crazy, you have to have a little peaceful place for yourself.

Epcot Afternoon

So..when I had left off, we had just finished up visiting Nemo and all his friends. We decided it was time to meet some characters, so we wandered over to the Epcot Character Spot. This was something new to me as it was not there on my previous trips. The line looked pretty long, but it moved pretty quickly. We all enjoyed watching the classic Disney cartoons while we waited. Oh how I miss those! So, Mickey was up first.

Even though I've had my picture taken with Mickey tons of times, it just never gets old!

Next up was Pluto

Yes, I was being squished by Pluto!

Minnie was next...I love her!

We met Donald next and boy was he fun! The girl in front of us had a very large pen filled with sparkles. Donald liked it so much that he brough it over to another CM to show it off! That CM then led him back to his spot and repeatedly told him to give it back. He then asked her for a breath mint I guess so she took some out of her pocket. If you look closely, you can see it in his mouth!!

Last, but certainly not least, was Goofy. One of my all time favs. I'll never forget being 15 years old and getting his autograph. He put my book on my head and used me as a desk!

Afterwards, we decided we were up for more picture taking and went over to the Visa photo area at Innoventions. We only had one or two families in front of us so it went quickly. Lo and behold, Mickey and Minnie were there to greet us! I don't think I've ever had my picture taken with the two of them before. What a treat!

This was the picture we chose for our free 5x7. So cute!

Once our photo shoot was over, we headed over to Imagination to see Figment. The line was non-existent! The ride is cute, but I miss the original version very much. I'm about 90% sure we went over to TT after this. My little sis said this ride wouldn't be a problem for Maddie, but my mom told me not to take her on it. Being the adventurous parents that we are, we decided to take her on it. The FP's were gone for the day so we hopped in the standby line. It was only 20 minutes and I don't even think it took that long. Madison did great! She LOVED it! She wasn't scared at all.

We had finished everything we wanted to do in FW so it was time to explore WS. First up was Mexico. Before we did anything, Maddie had to get her passport stamp. The "Guide to the Magic" was great because it had a spot for the stamp and a place for an autograph! At each stop, the CM wrote "Welcome to (fill in country name)" in their native language and some even translated Madison's name! After our passport stop, we rode the Gran Fiesta Tour. It's cute and all, but I enjoyed El Rio del Tiempo. As we toured WS, Madison also collected pressed pennies. She just loved doing this! I must admit, it was a lot of fun! We made a quick stop in Germany for a snack. We got a delicious pretzel and my DH tried a German beer. He said it was really good. We didn't get to see the American Adventure on this trip. When we passed by, there was 20 minutes to the next show. We were getting hungry for dinner and it was getting chillier. Oh well, there's always next time! We did decide to take some photos though.

I also took this pic on my phone and sent it to my big sis. Oh yeah. She was WAY jealous because Epcot is her all-time fav!

Anyways....we continued stopping at the Kidcot Funstops and then just passing through. That is, until we approached France. We saw a line and looked to see who it was for: Belle and the Beast! We of course hopped in line. As we got closer to the front, we realized it was the same Belle from breakfast! When it was Maddie's turn, Belle recognized her! She asked her how her day had been and how breakfast was. It was awesome!

After we had stopped at each country, we went to our locker so we could change into our jeans and hoodies. Once we were nice and warm, Madison wanted to ride SE again. The line was not even outside, so of course we rode. By this time, we were starving! We decided to go to the Land and try out Sunshine Seasons. Tony and I split the rotisserie chicken with carrots and mashed potatoes and Maddie had mac and cheese with grapes and jell-o. Our meal was SOOOO good! Those carrots were absolutely delish! Madison enjoyed her meal as well. Once our bellies were good and full, Madison wanted Tony to ride Mission Space. You see, she wanted to check it off in her book, so she needed someone to ride it. There was no way I was doing it. We had just eaten! My DH has a much stronger stomach so off he went. While we waited, we filled out her book (like I said, it was a lifesaver!). She checked off what she had done, put the stickers where they needed to go and wrote in the journal pages. Once Tony was safe and sound back on Earth, we headed back to WS to grab a spot for Illuminations. We found lots of empty space between FW and Mexico. Madison and Tony really enjoyed Illuminations which made me very happy. It's one of my favs! Afterwards, the crowds were not bad exiting the park. We had parked in one of the first few rows, so we got to the car very quickly. Once we got back to the hotel, we all crashed. What an awesome first day!!!

Love the character pics you got, they are great there, aren't they? Having all the characters under one roof makes it much easier with kids, for sure. Sounds like we had the same Donald as you guys, he was hysterical!! The CM kept having to lead him back to his picture spot, and was chasing our boys around, it was fun and the kids still talk about how crazy Donald was!! Can't wait to hear what happens on day 2!!

Donald was truly hysterical! I do like that character spot. You only have to wait in one line and you get 5 characters all at once. I think Maddie asks to go back to WDW almost everyday!

Wait, Madison sent your DH on MS right after eating and she didn't ride too? What a great dad!!!

Your pictures are great with all the characters! I'm surprised the lines were so short. When we went in September the Visa line was all the way through Innoventions. We passed but maybe I'll give it a go again next week.

You really filled up the whole day at EPCOT! Way to go!
