A Surprise fit for a Princess...A Pre-Trip Report

DTD and T-Rex

So, we were on our way to DTD and I was so excited. It's one of my favorite places (you have to drag me out of World of Disney)!

Once we found a parking spot, I made sure that we walked by T-Rex (we were too early to check in) so our DD could see it. You see, the trip wasn't the only surprise on this trip. I wanted to keep our ADR's secret too. Once our DD saw the restaurant, her eyes grew so big! I knew she was going to love it. We stopped at World of Disney first and bought a few things. I don't like to buy too much on the first day. I like checking out all of the merchandise we see throughout the week. By the time we were done with our mini shopping trip, it was time to head over to T-Rex. By this time, our DD knew we were eating there and she was very excited. She's really into dinosaurs! We were about to get into the check-in line when I heard my name. I look over, and there I see Shawna (DisneyMommy3)!! Yea! I was so excited to meet a Snowbird buddy! (I like to call this missed photo opportunity #1). We chatted for awhile and it was so nice to put a face with a name. We had been chatting on the Dis for months!!! Shawna and her family got called first for dinner, so off they went.

We didn't have to wait too long to get called and I couldn't wait to get inside and check it out!

The ice room. It was constantly changing from pink to blue. I don't think I would have liked to sit in there.

For dinner, I had the Brontoburger with waffle fries, Madison had the kids mac and cheese with cinnamon apples and Tony had chicken fried steak. My burger was super bland. It just didn't have any taste to it. Strange. However, the waffle fries rocked!!! Maddie enjoyed her mac and cheese, but not her apples. So, we ate some for her! Tony really enjoyed his meal. After we were finished eating, Madison wanted to explore a little while Tony waited for the bill. We ran into Shawna and her family again as they were finishing up their meal as well. It was so awesome to get a chance to chat again. Even though we had just met, it felt like we had known each other for years! (Shawna- I hope you and your family plan a trip to Niagara Falls. We would have a blast!) After the bill was paid (they take Disney Reward points), we decided to let Madison go to Build-a-Dino. She picked out a cute pink one with big blue eyes (just like her!). Of course, we let her get some clothes as well. She picked out khaki shorts, an Orlando t-shirt and a pink purse! Once we were all done with T-Rex, we decided to head back to the hotel. It had been a very long day of traveling and we were dragging. We went to sleep with thoughts of Epcot in our heads.

WOW, those pix of TRex look pretty intense. We walked by and my 6yr old son wouldn't even go in to look around! When we were getting in the car, he decided he wanted to go back and look (sorry, too late). I was surprised just how HUGE everything was! Looks very cool. Was it loud in there like Rainforest is?

I can't wait to try Trex during our June Trip I think my kids are going to love it. I will just stay away from the burger. Do you remember how much it was to stuff the Dinosaur I am planning on letting my Two Daughters make one

It was very loud, but I didn't mind it. Every 20 minutes or so, there is a "meteor shower" on the ceiling. When that happens, all the dinosaurs/animals start making noises. It's very cool!

I can't wait to try Trex during our June Trip I think my kids are going to love it. I will just stay away from the burger. Do you remember how much it was to stuff the Dinosaur I am planning on letting my Two Daughters make one

At Build-A-Dino, I'm pretty sure most of the dinos are around $20. I think there are about 10 or so to choose from.

I hear that a lot!! She's pretty identical to pictures of me when I was her age, but her hair is lighter than mine. She truly enjoyed T-Rex. It was a wonderful first night in Florida. Here's a link to the dino that she created.

The atmosphere is great! Maddie loved sitting in front of the wooly mammoth. Every now and then, he would move and make noises. It occupied her while we waited for our food, which wasn't too long actually!

Sounds like it would be close.

I'd say we were in between WDW and Universal. If we would have gotten on I-4 in the other direction, I'd say Universal was a few exits away. We were basically around the corner from Sea World as well. It's a great location, but it's not Disney property.

T-Rex really was a lot of fun. Our waiter was fantastic!!! He gave my DH a hard time for being a Buffalo Bills fan and he teased Maddie quite a few times too. Not in a bad way!

I love the spaciousness of those villas. We stayed in a 2-bedroom in 2002 and 2006 and they're even bigger! It's nice that my parents let us use their timeshare and all, but I need to be on Disney property. My DH has told me that when we have the cash (literally), we'll buy into the DVC. I don't know when that will be, but I'm definately looking into renting some points for our next trip.
