A Sept '10 pre-trip report on how Disney addicts kill time before vacation!

We are going in September too, so I'll be reading along to help pass the time.

We are pretty set with our schedule because we ROCK (LOTS of homework there and we know what to expect of each other's plans), but I am keeping a vigilant eye as far as the Toontown remodel and ANY potential deals that come out. March 28 can't get here fast enough!!! I can only assume the Disney Visa people may start getting letters this week about FD or any new promo. I'd settle for a nice PIN (it would actually save me more)!

So I thought I would let everyone know that I HAD written up my reply and was about to post it earlier this morning and the internet monster ate it . It was brilliantly funny by the way, but since I am mad at the DIS board internet monster, I will not be trying to rewrite it until tomorrow, sorry for any discomfort my delay will cause. I will try to recreate it to the best of my abilty, but alas, I can not guarantee it will be of the same quality

I've saved, deleted, and resaved hotel and ticket options, cleared my cookies, and tried again... to no avail.

In the meantime you might call up and ask if there are any pin codes associated with your name, I've heard of this working!

…so as we last left off the phone had just rung. Though I think I remember receiving a text rather than an actually phone call. Though I suppose she never said the phone rang, just that she picked it up, so I guess she is correct… in my initial write-up I said she stated incorrectly, which I know see the error of my writing, good think I didn’t get to post it the details would have been all wrong. I know I you all are sticklers for accurate details

So I don’t remember where, or when, all I remember is I received a text from Jenn saying she had convinced her husband to go to WDW again! My response “that’s awesome! Woohoo!” Though deep down I was jealous again? How come she gets to go again? Sure I was leaving on a two-week vacation in 2-months, which included a 10-day Caribbean cruise , she was getting to go to Disney AGAIN ! Sure, sure, the fact that I had just been to the world not even yet a year ago (Dec 2-11 2008), all of that my friends is beside the point. Jenn was getting to go to Disney two-years in a row, a feet I myself have yet to accomplish . If my memory serves me correctly the motivation for her first trip with the family was because she was so excited from hearing all about my adventures with my Mom and niece in 2008. In fact I am sure my trip sparked the inextinguishable urge to go to the world . I’m sure all of you know of this flame and its dreaded powers. Right I’m on a tangent… rambling... text message... so I sent my text back, with its sugarcoating of “fake happiness” for my friends “wonderful news”. Pretty soon I get a beep, I pick up the phone and what do I see, but the most wonderful memorable words EVER…” You should come with!” “SIGH ME UP!” is what I believe my response was, or if not I think that’s what it should have been

Well after my text response I instantly called her up and said “how awesome that would be blah blah Disney blah Mickey blah awesome blah blah Adam… Adam!? ” That’s right….crap. It was at that moment that I realized I could not make another venture to the World without inviting my boyfriend, especially since he has never been there. This could be a problem Houston . We haven’t even left for our first vacation ever with each and here I want to plan another one. He’s gonna think I’m crazy! I mean this one we haven’t’ even left one, I planned only after we had been dating 3-months!Hmm…

So I told Jenn that I would love to go with them, but let me talk to Adam first before we make any plans. So I put off talking about it for a few days since I knew I would see him in person that weekend, plus I wasn’t sure what I was going to say or how to approach the subject matter. I don’t remember the details perfectly but I do believe it went a little something like this:

We were outside on the stoop of my house letting our dogs (toy poodle and Papillion) use the potty. I am on the top step while he is two steps down on the walk, imagine me with my head looking down sort of swing my leg back an d forth, basically I did not look innocent . If I had been watching me I would have know I was about to say something big, but what? “So honey? I got the craziest text from Jenn the other day” “uh huh” She convinced her hubby to go to Disney World again” “huh” “and she invited me, us, to with” “really? ” “uh huh” It is at this moment I’m sure I tilted my head towards him with the most innocent smile “wouldn’t that be fun … I’ve been trying to talk to you about it, but with not even having left for our first trip, I wasn’t sure how to tell you.”

I then went into how I had also promised Anna, my friend who lives in Seattle, that I would go visit her and wanted Adam to go there as well. Since I had done both places I left it up to Adam to decide where we should go. I created some spreadsheets with cost and activates so he could make an educated decision on where we should go. Plus while we were deciding where my parents let us have the $530 left over at their travel agent (which was awesome because that paid for almost all of our airline tickets, all except $67) Needless to say he chose WDW and asked me to tell Anna that he hopes she doesn’t hate her.



That leads us to where we are now. In our next installment you will meet the cast and crew of our trip and learn what makes us all tick!

Confession time...

We bought Princess and the Frog the other day and finally had the chance to sit down and watch it. As soon as the blue Disney screen (the one with the castle and fireworks) came on, DH says, "BOY! I can't wait to get back down there!" Worried that he sounded like he went to the dark side of Disneymania, quickly corrected himself by saying, "I mean, I just can't wait for vacation!"

Your story about dh can't waiting for his trip to the "dark side"...

One time when dh & I were going to "the World" (we don't have any children) I have the hidden mickey heads (aka paint chips from home depot) and on each mickey head I put the countdown date (in stickers) so about 14 days from our trip every day I would hide a "hidden mickey" to get him to find it.
14, 13, 12...
I would put them in his sandwich, in the shower, in the microwave, rearview mirror, then one time I put it on the inside lid of the toilet. (he almost pee'd on mickey) etc. etc...
well one day he had gone to work and came home for a few hours and at dinner he said "hey, I haven't found my hidden mickey". Thats when I knew he was really getting into it. I told him the night was still young (and so were we)..ha..ha.. I had put it on his pillow.

I realized as much as he wouldn't admit it...he really looks forward to the trips.

I hope my guy likes Disney as much as I do. I guess i will know after this trip. Everyone cross their fingers for me. Its gonna be many solo trips to Disney if he doesn't get into it

Just popping in for a quick hello and mini-update.

We are working on our next installment, but thanks to education , it will be delayed for about a week.

E has lots of essays and projects working and I'm a week out from spring break. My students (I have 2) are both ridiculously brilliant and we have to make a crazy mad push to get everything rounded up by April Fools Day... hmm... should that be an omen?

Made ADRS today and Tours so DBF and I are all set, Jenn makes her other two on monday, ::crossing fingers:: the go ok.

I didn't get all that I wanted but will go more into detail later. Hope everyone is well and look for an update from me around Wed or Tuesday

ARGH! I CAN'T WIN THIS MORNING!!!

I overslept by about 20 minutes (it takes me 10 min to get ready thank goodness). And now... when I get to work to start making my ADR's... the Disney servers aren't showing any availability past 9/25!

I've waited and waited and waited for this morning and !!!

Ok! Enough! for me is over now...

UPDATE: ADRs are made! Bring it on Akershus and Le Cellier!
