A Sept '10 pre-trip report on how Disney addicts kill time before vacation!

Yes Hun, I scheduled relaxation time for this trip.
You get Tuesday from 8:55 am to 9:00 am, then we hit it hard again!

!!!! Couldn't have said it any better!

In further preparation on my part, we are watching Mulan... again... for the 5th time this week! DS has a crush on Mulan... it'll be really funny if she comes to lunch at Akershus!

I have a little bit of a distraction... since I've talked my co-worker into planning a trip I can pass on my knowledge of the World vicariously!

I do need to tweak my list a little bit more since there was a recent request for fun foods! (Do we need to extend our list options?? Please!?! There is so much I want to include!!! Forget that I'm looking and looking for stuff that wouldn't be obvious! Forget I haven't slept in three days digging through old posts... Oooooh! Just found a gooooooood one!

I'm fully expecting an over/under bet for the number of times we spontaneously burst into laughter for no obvious reason!

well my plan of working on our scavenger hunts for the next fews months failed, both of us are almost done, with just a few tweaks to the list.

So I write to you fellow DISers, what else can we do to occupy our minds so we don't realize we still have a long ways to go till we are in the World. Perhaps another game we can create or some other planning we can do. Any ideas would be great

• read through September TR to check out crowds, weather, etc.?
• poured over the DISign boards so that you have some spiffy matching shirts to wear in the parks?
• done touring plans for each park?

It's near the bottom of the main forum page- I think under the heading 'Just for fun'. There are DISigners who make designs that can be printed from your computer onto t-shirt transfer paper- absolutely free- with Disney and non-Disney themes and they'll even personalize them for you. I warn you though- that place is ADDICTIVE!!

I was gonna say...you can look for random "HIdden Mickey's" in everyday surroundings....

I may do a scavenger hunt one day...but not the next visit....

I thought the movie night was a super cute idea. I wish Jenn and I lived in the same state we would be all over that. Alas I don't think my DBF woudl be up for it, it might put him on DIS overload and I don't want that. I want him to have such a great time, that he wants to back in a few years because he loved it soooooo much

here is the brochure I designed for Jenn, I have to say I am awesome . The first pic is the outside and the second is the inside with all of the items. I designed it with pics I took when I was there two year sago (except the mickey pumpkin) then I googled the characters and sketches. Gotta love the internet!

I think we can both agree to post our lists 1 week before our trip so you can all see the final versions. Mine won't be near as pretty as E's as I don't have as many cool pictures from the World (the bulk of my travelling down there was before I really knew how to use a camera).

I've only made the kid's autograph books, purchased DS's Halloween costume, started buying a couple things for the trip (no where to put them until I have a garage sale... or 3!) and taken stock of our already owned Disney attire.

I have the autograph and passport pages I want to use saved but haven't printed them yet and I have dd's Minnie dress but only because someone gave it to me and I have no ears or shoes to go with it and I don't have anything for ds's costume yet. Basically I have a lot of talk and not much action, lol. I do have good plans but picking park days and doing touring plans was fun for me because I'm a big ol' nerd when it comes to stuff like that.

Yay! I kept it simple with our books as the end result is that they go in the scrapbook next to the kids with the characters. I made 4x6 books out of mat board, scrapbook paper, and stickers. Thank God for crop-a-diles! I'll have to post the pics of the fronts of them. I offered to make DS a new one, but he likes his book and wants to take it on it's 3rd trip to WDW.

I have yielded our picked park days to E, as she is INCREDIBLY lucky when she travels and has never steered me wrong. We've planned out our ADRs and get to start making them in a week! She's going to take care of all the meals we are eating together, and I'll call/hop online for the ones we're doing on our own. I gave in and decided to add hoppers AND go to DHS (or MGM as we call it...). 3 hours should cover it right?? !!!

I lucked into DS's costume. He decided he wanted to be Phineas this last year, but I could't find the right stuff. I kept my eyes open and fell into the perfect clothes! I'm still digging for DDs costume, but I may end up sewing it together if I can't find what I want. I know it's going to be hotter than Hades so I need to make sure they stay cool .

OT: is it just me or is this smiley REALLY SCARY????

Thanks I was quite proud .. as to where I got the font I do beleive I fount it at dafont.com

That is usually where I find all of my fun fonts, though I might also have just searched disney font on google too, I don't quite rememeber. Good Luck finding it
