We drive at night so naturally end up with a bug mess and I don't want to wait till get home to get'em off the camper. Anyone know of a wash not too far away from FW?

We asked the same question and I was told of a truck stop in Orlando that has a truck wash. I hope you can find something. I would be interested in knowing where one was for my next trip.

I will probably get flamed for this but I usually wash the trailer on the site. It gets pretty grungy traveling as far as we have to and I just cant stand to look at it filthy the whole week. I have scouted around and havent been able to find a good wash anywhere around. There is a hand wash over by the Camping world that I use for the pickup truck but I dont think the trailer would fit.

No flames here. We do the same thing. I usually just give the nose of the MH a quick scrubdown to get the bugs off on site -- the sides and rear don't get that bad unless it's raining, in which case I'll do a quickie wash all over. I don't spend as much time on it as I would at home, but I do get the yucky stuff off. I always see several other people doing this on site, particularly in love bug season. No one has ever complained that I've seen.

I have waited till we got home to wash off the bugs before and they are usually baked on at that point. In the summer I like to travel at night to avoid some of the traffic (you know how those tourists can be) and it gets plastered some times. I hate to have a nice camp set up and a filthy trailer.

we wash our truck and camper at the site. we just wait until nobody is really around..

I've heard of some people putting pam spray on the front. Not sure how good it works but it's worth a try?????

For you folks with larger rigs, there is a truck wash place at exit 329 just before the Turnpike. We stopped there and they did a great job on the Coach. They scrubbed it as well as power wash. Although, I did watch the guy next to me wash his big coach just before he headed out at noon, but that's for another thread.

just wanted to pop in to say there were lots of people washing their rv's during our stay. Disney doesn't seem to have a problem with it. one day there was a cm cleaning a site and the guy across the street was busy scrubbing down his motorhome.

I tried the pam thing on my car and it seemed to make the bugs harder to get off. maybe it was because it was summer and they sorta baked on?? what a mess that was :headache:

On the other hand, a wet dryer sheet works pretty good!

thats all of my helpful hints for now....lol

Not only are you allowed to wash your rig but there are professionals who will come to your site and wash it for you. They get $75 - 100 for a big class A.

Pam Spray and Dryer Sheets.........who figures this stuff out???? Id LOVE to see the list of things that DIDNT work!
