A Pirate and a Princess Go to the World......Updated Ch. 12/pics/COMPLETE

The Grand California is very nice; the inside is on the same par as the Wilderness Lodge. The outside due to the lack of space falls short of the grandness of the grounds of the Wilderness Lodge. I know you will enjoy it there.

We would agree, but then we are very bias in this matter. My wife and I have had Annual Passes probably since about the time you were born (my wife was very young when we got them:rotfl2:  ya honey), so we have spent a lot of time here

If you would like I would be happy to gather up some Pamphlets and Brochures of some of the things that you can do while you are here and send them to you so you can take a look at them ahead of time, just let me know.

Every time I watch that show on Women’s Entertain, (not that I watch a lot of shows on there, usually I just catch it when changing channels between NASCAR and This Old House) I remind myself of how lucky I am to be married to the women I am.

Great, we're really looking foward to staying there! That would also be wonderful and I'll PM you soon. Thanks so much! Hahaha....yes there are quite a few bridezilla's out there

Another great (and funny) installment!! I laughed so hard at him trying to squish the mornin' out of you! :rotfl: :lmao: :rotfl2: I am so with him on mornings always coming too early...but NOT at WDW...I pop out of bed like every day there is Christmas morning!!

Keep up the good work!!:thumbsup2

Hey jaycns! I'm flattered that you like it. Yes, Jeremy is EXTREMELY grumpy in the mornings, even at Disney World! I'll never understand it!

I'm growing very anxious for you to go back to the world!!!

Another great installment! Great pics of the animals- I can't believe you saw so many! That's awesome!!!!

Can't wait to read more... Get to writing! :yay: :yay: :yay: :yay: :yay:

Hi Courtney- thanks for reading! The savannah was really amazing. We've been on it several times before and it didn't come close to comparing, it really was quite the experience. :goodvibes

Hi! I am new to your trip report and I am loving it!
Congrats on your upcoming wedding!

I look forward to reading more!:thumbsup2

So where was I?

Oh yes, we had a big night ahead of us princess: so we knew it was time to go back to the hotel and get a bit of rest. We hopped on the bus completely pumped to get some down time. The bus were PACKED but luckily we were able to find some seats together. The driver proceeded to go over to Blizzard Beach to pick people up, then go to Saratoga Springs to drop and pick people off, by the time we made it to Port Orleans French Quarter we were raring to get off the bus so decided it would be better just to take the walk back to Riverside. We had never been to French Quarter and were curious anyway.

Both Riverside and French Quarter are nice resorts but we definitely enjoyed the lobby at French Quarter more, while we enjoyed the grounds at Riverside the most.

P2010190.jpg

After exploring the grounds a little bit we proceeded to take the walk back to our resort. I don't know why but I was expecting it to be a very short walk. While it certainly wasn't a marathon it was HOT and walking next to that body of water I kept having horrible visions of being eaten by an alligator. Hey, you may laugh but my grandmother lived in Florida and the gators are no joke, if you live near water you always need to keep on the look out. Jay was getting extremely vexed by the whole situation.

Jay: Why did you have to get off the stupid bus, we would have been in our hotel room for ten minutes by now
Me: Promise you won't let a gator eat me
Jay:You never do anything I say, you had to jump off that bus, and now WHO KNOWS when we'll be back, and pretty soon you'll be saying, Jayyyy, carry me and NO! I won't do it!
Me: Jay are you surrrrre there's no gators?
Jay:And I could be drinking water right now, but noooo I'm walking across this darn river and all you can say is........what? what do you mean gators? what gators?

Jay then had a freak out discussing how if we die from alligators it's all my fault because I wanted to walk. Silly man. EVENTUALLY we made it to our room.

Now for those of you who don't know, I absolutely despise when our room hasn't been cleaned. When we saw that the room next door was being cleaned and ours wasn't cleaned yet Jay gave me the most menacing look I've even been given. But honestly honey, we need a clean room.

Jay:No, I won't do it Kate! I'm not leaving this room
Me: But honey, pllllllllllllease
Jay: Absolutely not!

5 minutes later.......

TOO funny! The alligator walk!! I was :rotfl: while reading that! Come to think of it...your trip report always keeps me in stitches!! :thumbsup2

Is that a TOWEL animal Jay is napping with?!

I love that last picture of you! You look so happy (while waiting for a clean room). Do tell...did you at least walk somewhere the man could get a cool drink while waiting for the cleaned room!? :lmao:

Keep it coming! I am in need of good laughs like these!! Thanks for sharing!!

Let me pre-face this by saying 1 week before we were scheduled to leave Jeremy's boss told him he was would not be able to use his personal time as they were going into a "war room" after being given billions of dollars to invest :scared1:

This was truly the trip that never was supposed to happen.

Jeremy: It's okay darling, I'll poison myself at work throw up at my desk claiming salmonella and all will be well
Me: WHHHHHHHHHHATTTTTTT?!?! Are you crazy? Absolutely not!
Jeremy: surrrre, it'll be fine I'll just put a little bit of visine in my drink and all will be well. I'll bounce back in 10 minutes
Me: ...googling using Visine in someone's drink stumble across

"The active ingredient in Visine drops can cause..

-Lowering body temperature to dangerous levels
-Making breathing difficult, or halting it completely
-Blurring Vision
-Causing nausea and vomiting
-Elevating and then dropping blood pressure
-Causing seizures or tremors

And last but not least....

-sending the ingestor into a coma

......hmm, maybe that's not the greatest idea

Jeremy: I've got it, syrup of ipecac
Me: What the hell is syrup of ipecac?
Jeremy: It's a substance you take to make you immediately vomit if you've poisoned yourself that bullemic's often use
Me: No, absolutely not!

1 Week Later

After ingesting his lovely syrup of ipecac

Jeremy: ...groaning into cell phone from downstairs lobby of office......this was a terrrible idea
Me: Jeremy I told you not to do it!
Jeremy: it worked....we just need the doctors note....more groaning...please pick me up I don't want to get on the subway, I think I'll throw up on someone

Next stop: the lovely doctor

At this point I'd like to note Jeremy is completely fine. And I mean, COMPLETELY.

On doctors bed groaning and faking salmonella. And when I say groanin' I mean GROANIN'. He was faking it to the highest degree. If there was a academy award for best hooky player Jeremy had it, hands down.
groaning...."doc I'm realllllllllllllly ill ughhhhhhhhh"
Doctor: Yes, yes I can see that, wait here for a moment"

Doctor leaves room...Jeremy sits up and looks at me with a huge grin and raises eye brows three times in only a way that a 5 year old boy playing hooky or person going to Disneyworld can.

Doctor comes back......"now Jeremy I'm going to give you a shot in the buttox for your nausea" :scared1:

Jeremy had a look only a deer in the headlights could have at that moment. I really felt bad for him but at the same time was doing all I could to not start hysterically laughing. It was just too much.:beach:

Jeremy: Doc, I realllllllly don't think I need that
Doctor: Don't be silly, it's only for nausea

Next thing you know, Jeremy pants down gets a smack in the butt and a needle. Poor guy.

PB191395.jpg

We make our way up to the receptionists desk..."so you need a note for today"
Jeremy: uhhhh, you better make that till Monday, I feel really, very ill
Receptionist: ::raises eyebrows:: whatever you say

We walk our way down the stairs and out the door and Jeremy lets out a few profanities about his shot but then finally a big YAHOOOOOOOOO. We're going to Disney my friends! :beach:

OMG that story was the most absolute freakin hilarious thing I think I have read in a very long time. As you can see I am just starting to read your trip report, but I had to comment already! That is some Disney desperation folks!!
Hope noone in his office is a fan of these boards! LMAO :rotfl2:

Yarrrrr me Pirates, are ye ready for an adventure?

guide-map-sm.jpg

Jeremy was cheerfully whistling, yo ho yo ho a Pirate's life for me pirate:

I on the other hand had dreams of being whisked away by my prince, hopefully spending a night in Cinderella's Castle princess:

We were ready for quite the adventure.

We had made our reservations for dinner at the Polynesian, one of our favorite resorts which one day we are determined to stay at. We had been wanting to try Kona for quite some time and were very excited. We arrived a bit early so decided to go check out the Tamboo Lounge in all it's glory. It was pretty busy as it was around 5pm and right before the party so many people were having early dinners. I had an absolutely wonderful margarita and Jeremy had his standard jack and coke. We also went to the gift shop and picked up some treats for later in true pirate form :rolleyes1 . Where's the rum ye say? In our soda bottles of course :smokin: Yes...we're rebels.

Anywhoo it was time for dinner and we were seated at a lovely table. I loved the decor of the restaurant which was a pleasent suprise. I've read countless reviews bashing it and I absolutely adored it!

P2010207.jpg

We started out with the crab cakes and the pot sticker appetizers. Both were delicious!

P2010213.jpg

P2010214.jpg

For our entrees I had the terriyaki steak which was AMAZING. Jeremy had the filet mignon which was equally good. This was one of our best meals of the entire trip.

Lastly desserts included the chocolate tart and a banana creme brulee. Everything was so delicious that we stuffed ourselves to the absolute maximum capacity, which is evident here.

P2010217.jpg

It was time for our adventure. The magic kingdom looked absolutely beautiful with red carpets rolled out everywhere. The party didn't officially start for quite some time however so we decided to go over to Tomorrowland to get some rides done. We went over to Space Mountain, and I got to sit in the front seat! Wow, what a difference. It is such an incredible ride to begin with but sitting in the front with all the stars zooming past you is an experience all in and of itself. It was a truly magical ride!

P2010222.jpg

We headed over to Buzz next and I actually beat Jay! This was a first time for me and I was oh so proud of myself. Jeremy did so bad they even threw him in jail! Poor fellow! Thank goodness his Pirate skills got him out of that one!

P2010220.jpg

The park was basically deserted which was wonderful. We decided we'd like to go stroll down to Toon Town to see what characters would be there later in the night. We couldn't resist stopping at some of our favorite places of course!

P2010225.jpg

How do you like my new kitchen? Oh, and you can see my proudly displayed treasure bag for loot and jewels princess:

P2010226.jpg

May I offer you some cheese?

Speaking of which, we couldn't resist going to the big mouse's place himself. Jeremy, my sporting chap, being more of a manly man

P2010227.jpg

It was still only 6:30 and no characters were out so we had time to do some more exploring. The park was EMPTY! I mean empty when I say empty, it was already worth the ticket just because we could go on any ride of the park with 0 line. It was incredible.

We headed back to fantasyland to knock those rides out. We had a great time. First we went on Snow White

She really needs to get an attitude re-adjustment!

P2010230.jpg

Jeremy decided he wanted to be sworn in as king of the lands...unfortunately things didn't work out for him the way he imagined

P2010241.jpg

I still love you honey.

We decided to ride Peter Pan twice since there was no line and because it's one of our favorites.

P2010242.jpg

Installment coming right this way folks, I have too many pics to make this one

It was time to get ready for the parade and I was so psyched. I am the epitome of a fireworks and parade person. In fact I just turned my whole honeymoon planning upside down because I found out we were going to miss the fireworks over at Disneyland!

We were able to get amazing seats right by the park entrance. Before it started Jay and I had a wonderful conversation and with all teh lighting in the park it was very romantic :lovestruc

I was a little nervous about the parade because there's a lot of horses and I am highly allergic but at first everything was okay. The parade was wonderful with beautiful detail everywhere. It truly was magical.

P2010320.jpg

After the parade we thought it would be wise to get ready for the fireworks as it was what I was most excited for. We asked a nice cm where the best viewing would be and she pointed out a spot on main street for us that wasn't on top of the central hub, pointing out that way we would also see the fireworks that were lower to the ground. Jeremy used a snack credit to get us a big bowl of ice cream and I saw a pair of Mickey ears that I just couldn't refuse.

P2010334.jpg

P2010335.jpg

Pretty soon the fireworks started and all I can say is WOW! It was amazing! Best fireworks I have ever seen hands down. They were long and wonderful. I can't even begin to describe. It was an unforgettable moment. It was so magical words will never do it justice. I highly recommend going to this party for the fireworks alone.

Okay so mmmmmmaybe I didn't take that picture, but mmmmmmaybe I did

After the parade we decided to see the other park happenings. We devoured some loot along the way (different chocolate candies with fillings) and made our way over to the Jack Sparrow captain tutorial. There was a HUGE crowd and it was absolutely impossible to see. Jeremy, being the man I love hoisted me up on his back so that I was able to watch. It was a really fun show and we both enjoyed it.

After the tutorial we wanted to do more rides and meet some characters but I was having a major problem....there were horses EVERYWHERE! It was unreal. My breathing was definitely not normal but I still wanted to do things so badly. We walked over to the haunted mansion knowing it would be na indoor attraction and obviously there would be no horses!

P2010341.jpg

Unfortunately it was no use, I was having BIG asthma issues. We had to leave and pronto. I had a pretty bad attack on the bus on the way back but thankfully I had my inhaler so all was well in the world. Were we disappointed tat we weren't able to do more? Sure. But had we enjoyed the party? ABSOLUTELY!!! pixiedust:

Wow sorry you had such a bad asthma attack:worried:
Sneaking rum into WDW...wow you certainely are a rebel :rotfl2: But it was a pirate party after all, I am sure the pirates would have approved.
Luvin your trip report so far!

Great trip report so far. I laughed out loud reading about Jay getting a doctor's excuse to go to Disney. Sorry to hear about your allergic reaction but at least you had fun. Thanks for sharing!

Thanks so much for reading medicgirl! And yes, we had the same concern about his office but they're too Nazi-ish to ever love or even like Disney :confused3 all the better for us!
