If it was up to you what would WDW next park be? I would like to see a water themed park. Maybe like a Seaworld. I just love all things dealing with ocean.
I hope this thread hasn't been started before. I looked but couldn't find it. If there is where is it at. just curious!
:yay:

Lets see.. Probably something to compete with Universal. It's where Disney is losing a lot of its money. Because they offer more thrill rides. I disagree with the people saying that Disney needs to be more family friendly and have more kids rides/attractions. Its exactly what they're doing with the Fantasyland Expansion. I would like to see more coasters. Also with Disney's plan for Avatarland they're going to be competing with WWOHP. So yeh. Compete with Sea World/Universal and i'll be happy.

More thrill rides would be great. Christmas 2009 we had to stay at Universal because the teenagers wanted thrill rides. I did make a day trip WDW's DTD.

A park consisting of thrill rides would make sense for WDW. WDW would "steal" away a lot of people from Universal if they did that.

I can't think of what Id like to see myself in another park because I think they have already done a lot with the current 4 parks. I can't think of anything that Id like to see that they dont already have.

I see the point about the thrill rides, but I disagree that they should try to compete with Universal. I think US has really gone down hill of late. There is nothing new at US, all the expansion has been at IOA. I think Avatar will compete with IOA in many ways too. I like the idea of a marine themed park, but with Seaworld and Discovery Cove, both seeing expansion in the not too distant future I don't know that it would be worthwhile for Disney to do that.
It's hard to see something that Disney can do that hasn't already been done or is in progress now.

I think the most sensible idea would be to create a large park that is kinda split in 2 like Epcot. One side a relaxing marine type place with shows and character meets and one side that is pure thrills like IOA or Busch. A "thrills and chills" place

Universal hasn't created a full themed land like that of Potter but they have added and are adding new attractions in the future. The Hollywood Rip Ride coaster was added just before Potter, the Despicable me attraction is opening up next year, there's going to be a new nighttime show on the lagoon and with the demolition of the old Hard Rock cafe building everything points to a new attraction going in,possibly Transformers. As far as Disney expanding,I think they have to.I know many people feel they should just improve their current parks but they need more than just an attraction here and there.Something like a huge Avatar themed land would work, especially for AK which needs something major in my opinion, the place still just has a zoo vibe to me that something like Avatar could help relieve.I have a zoo 4 minutes away and I go to Disney for the themed atmospheres the other parks have that AK just doesn't,at least for me.If they want to build a thrill ride park I'm good with that as well,it obviously won't have rides as thrilling as a Cedar Point but something with rides more families can ride with a very themed park would be very popular.

When are the rights to Marvel up for renewal? All I have to say.

To my knowledge Disney already bought Marvel for like 4.25 million. But Marvel is considered a subsidiary of Walt Disney Corp. They already did joint publishing for the Disney/Pixar Presents magazine. It also makes me wonder why Universal has the Marvel superhero meet and greets if Disney has legal rights to the Comic Book characters from Marvel.

Because part of the deal was that Universal gets to keep their contracts of the characters already being used. Universal can not add any other Marvel characters (I also think they can't make HUGE changes to an attraction and keep the character either). I'm not sure if there is an end date of Universal's use or just "until you get rid of it". That said, Universal is surely paying Disney for the use...

I for one have no desire to see a 5th park at WDW anytime in the foreseeable future. I think there is plenty to do and see already. I've been 17 times and still feel that there is much left to discover. Adding a 5th park would complicate matters and make short trips even more difficult.
My guess is that a 5th park would significantly raise base ticket prices, as well as the hopper option.

There's just no need for another park right now. Better that they focus on improving and updating the ones that are already there.

for some reason what pops in my head more than marvel, more pixar, etc would be something for the villians to call home.

or one dedicated to star wars...but then I'm nearly as much a star wars nut as a disney nut:rolleyes1

I agree!!!! We haven't been since the boys were 5 and 7. At that point they had there fill of disney. The US/IOA had more to offer...simpsons, mummy, superheroes, shrek, etc.... We, DH and I, love thrill rides too....

We are going back to Disney this FEB, but only because the kids are asking once again...now 10 and 12...they never went on tower of terror or rock/roll coaster and their friends have been talking about them.

I'm sure we'll have a great time and we are looking forward to the trip...but I really think next time will be at US/IOA to do Harry Potter and maybe Halloween (scary..fun!)

I think disney should cater to more thrill rides and if they do it in a true Disney fashion it would be amazing!!!!

Love the "thrills and chills" idea!

i know what many have posted in relation to thrills rides and a marine area etc but i just don't see a potential theme that Disney could go after. it also would have to be financially valuable esp in the economic climate and i don't see a new park doing that.

It's really unfortunate that MARVEL are at Islands Of Adventure.

WDW isn't about thrill rides. It's about having many attractions that all generations can do together. A few well themed thrill rides are nice, but I think too many would not fit the Disney family-togetherness theme well.

I was hoping for a Beastly Kingdom expansion at AK, but now they are doing Avatar.

I'm not sure what I'd want a fifth park to be. Discovery Island is rumored to become DVC, though that would be a nice location for some sort of adventure.

I want Toy Story Land at HS! :goodvibes

I was hoping for a Beastly Kingdom expansion at AK, but now they are doing Avatar.

I just can't wait to visit a land where everything is lit with blue lights, and experience the thrill of slowly floating along at a snails pace, wearing uncomfortable 3D glasses, being confused and bored for nearly three straight hours.

Oh, wait, I think have the "land" confused with the "movie."

Their next park should be Disney Obscura, themed to obscure and mostly forgotten Disney properties.

Who doesn't want to ride Victory Through Air Power and have their picture taken with Oswald the Lucky Rabbit? The hub can be built around the Horned King's castle.

Actually...I kind of love this idea.

Whatever it is, I want a decent number of rides. ACTUAL rides.

I'm talking Magic Kingdom numbers (22), not Animal Kingdom numbers (7, I think).

When I used to come on here a lot planning our 2009 trip, a lot of ppl would mention a "villians" type theme park. I still would like to see that. I think it would be perfect and could easily go with the need for more thrill rides. I can just see it now, some kind of really thrilling roller coaster themed around Cruella, for example!
