Looks like all your ADRS are set and moving forward. How very exciting. Now you have the holidays to move you forward and the other details can come. Very fun.
Just got off the phone with Disney! We have officially changed to a pool view room instead of a Savannah view. We have been going back and forth for months now and just couldn't decide. So we thought that if we liked both so much we couldn't decide, we might as well save some money! So we switched to the tune of saving $500 and we didn't have to sacrifice a want for it
We're pretty excited about that! We keep hearing such good things about both views but we realized we just don't take long enough trips so we don't spend much time in our rooms. When we're up there it will either be night time or we'll be getting ready for the parks. Plus, I told her "think of all the fun we can have in Disney World with 500 extra dollars!"
We probably won't be using the savings on the trip but it's fun to think about lol
Sounds like me and my husband's idea of a trip
If we were going we would be going for standard view and hoping we got something better but would be fine with a bad view. Views are nice but they don't make or break Disney for me. It's probably one of the things I care least about.
Savannah view would be AMAZING and unique, but pool view is so lush and pretty looking. We didn't want to feel pressure to sit in our room because of the $500 view when we really wanted to be in a park haha
So, after two years being done with college, my husband has FINALLY got a real, big-boy job! No more waiting tables and depending on people to tip (Which is perfect timing, the new healthcare laws have made it so Red Robin won't give him more than 28 hours a week when he was previously working 50+ we would have had some issues!)
This boy has been yanked in so many directions the past couple of years by potential employers. The marketing job market in Colorado is not great compared to other cities and after being told "We'll find a place for you!" and receiving no phone calls and being ignored in follow-up emails, to getting to the third stage of interviews and losing the job to the one other person up to it, we are so happy to finally be done with the hiring process!
This restaurant chain called Bad Daddy's (consisting of a couple stores in either North or South Carolina, can't remember which) sold it's franchising rights in the state of Colorado to a local fast food chain here called Good Times. They'll be opening a store here in January and another one a couple months later with plans to have 4-5 restaurants in the next year. Casey will start out bar managing the first restaurant but mostly just to help get it going. He gets to pick out the beers for their 24 taps (his dream job basically, that kid and his craft beer) and manage the whole bar area which will translate to managing the bar for the entire Colorado division of the chain by the end of next year! Which will be nice because he's kind of hoping to not be roped into being in a restaurant for the rest of his career. It's looking like he'll just have to do that for a couple of months before being in more of a corporate role.
We are just so excited and RELIEVED mostly.
But what this really means is that I get my one last, pre-kids Disney trip and it will be glorious. I was hoping for a last hoorah type adult trip. Once we have kids we probably won't be affording any deluxe type stays for a while so the preliminary plans here looks like a 2015 stay at the Boardwalk. Either in September or the first week of December! Is it bad that this is the first thing I thought of when I found out about the job?
Just wanted to make one final post before my trip which is somehow only 3 weeks away (~3 weeks sounds so much sooner than 23 days so I'm going with that)
This is the least stressed and most excited I've ever been for a Disney trip and it's driving me up a wall!
-This is the first trip I'll be taking to Disney where I KNOW when I'll be back. All my previous trips have come with "I DON'T KNOW WHEN I'LL BE BACK SO I HAVE TO RIDE EVERYTHING 15 TIMES". SO excited to not stress about things like that. If we miss a ride or two, no big deal, I'll be back in a year!
-Now that my mom is experienced she's been helping with the planning and I don't have to worry about making sure she gets the full Disney experience. We both know what we like and we can cater to that.
With that, our plans are pretty much finalized! Dining reservations have been changed around to perfection, FP+, has been booked and the trip is paid off!
We also received our Mickey Mail!
So now, a quick rundown on our final plans and I'll be off to the World!
Tuesday, April 8th:
We ended up canceling our Chefs reservation. We decided that a big reason why we liked it the first time was our table by the window. The rest of the restaurant was very noisy and crowded and we were worried that we wouldn't enjoy it quite as much without a window table. We also have been eyeing various Epcot snacks and couldn't find the stomach capacity to fit them in.
Our only plans for today are to:

Also thought I'd mention, I have really enjoyed the MDE stuff. I haven't had any technical issues and I found reserving fast passes on my phone was SUPER easy. It's also really easy to change reservations on the app. It's also nice to have all of my favorite rides already booked. Gets rid of another stressful thing for me!
I loved you since I saw you wearing a Broncos jersey in your intro and even more so after this post!!
I'm also from Denver and a HUGE fan of our teams...but mostly Broncos, Av's and Rockies!! LOVE LOVE LOVE them...let's just hope the Av's don't break our hearts like the Broncos did this year!!
I'll be looking out for your TR, hope you are having an amazing time!! You're coming home on my birthday!
