A Message From a "lost" Dis Con I :) :)

Hi guys. I'm loving my new job!! I guess it's not so new since I've been there about a month now I can't begin to tell you how satisfying I have found this job to be! They are sending me to Washington, DC in July.
Are any other DIS Con folks living around there? I'd sure like to know.

Thank you everyone for the well wishes on my new job. I don't think that I've experianced anything quite like this before. I wasn't looking to go to work as my foster kids keep me pretty busy, but one day the phone rang and a stranger on the phone asked me if I'd be interested in being a Parent Advocate with the Systems of Care federal program. I didn't even know what job responcibilities would be. Turns out that this is something that I've been doing sometime, I just did it to help other parents, now it's my job and I'm getting paid for it

Ray, I would so love to come to DIS Con II, but I'm afraid that I may have to wait and come to DIS CON III. Besides having to save the $$$, I'll have to ease my DH into the idea. He was so sick of hearing about WDW last time that he told me he didn't want to hear about WDW again Of course I couldn't go cold turkey, but coming to DIS CON II would really be pushing the envelope with him. I'm hoping that Pete may make DIS CON III a choice between different times of the year. I'd like to bring my son with me, but he's in regular classes at school (my girls are in Special Ed and they were/are more leniant about absences). A 10 day trip to WDW during the school year for him would be very difficult. He's a good student, but all the make up work would be a big burden to him as that would be during basketball season as well.
Anyway, again thanks for the well wishes.

Gerri, so sorry that I missed you at Special Olympics. I ended up having to go out of town on the Thursday. And Wed and Fri were Dance recitals. Very crazy.
