A MAGICAL Columbus Day Cruise Texas style 10/6/2012

I think we are going to do a swim with the dolphins with the grand daughters, DD is going to go swimming with the stingrays. Also husband and DD are going to go do a zip line. I am staying on the boat with the girls that day and we haven't decided what to do about the third port. It does seem like we've been waiting forever and I am just getting so excited. Are you going to do your excursions on your own or are you booking through Disney?

Sounds like you guys are doing similar excursions.Since this is our first cruise ever,I'm not sure how to make any reservations,so I am guessing we will make them with Disney, unless I can figure out how to do them myself.

I never think you can go wrong booking with Disney. It is a little more money but the peace of mind it buys is invaluable. Happy one year anniversary until we set sail.

yeah for one year:) my kids think we are going on the Carnival Magic...hehehe but sneakin in this one b4 that one.

my dh and i leave in 51 days for the carnival magic so i'm excited to see port of galveston:)

we book 50/50 on shoretrips with the cruise lines. there is lots of ways to save a few bucks and bookin with another venue is one. check out mobydicktours.com for GC. my TA recommend it and we are thrilled to try it in November!!!

bought a few disney items and hiding them away from kiddies.

so excited to see the look on their faces:)

Your kids will be so surprised ginny!Hope you and hubby have a great time on your cruise, can't wait till next year!

i was watchin TV the other day and it was for those disney trips parents surpriise their kids with and i started to cry. kids say...what's wrong? and i'm like it's so awesome!! and the kids say "if you EVER take us disney...we want that"

now to shut my mouth for 364 days ;) gglluuppp...lol

so excited to go now and then...just can't wait!!

Oh my goodness. You will have to tape it. They will go completely crazy.

i know hey? so i found out that Disney has a shuttle to get you from airport to pier but it cost $80pp!!! yikes...so we will take a town car for $120 for 4 and the kids will have our name on a sign which is not as kewl as the shuttle buses but a heck of alot cheaper!!

so excited for this cruise next year...

We are driving down from Keller Texas so I guess we will just pay to park at the pier. I have started buying little gifts for the girls to put in their fish extender. I had one made for them last year. I told them when they leave the room the princesses come by and leave presents for them. I am also stocking up on $1.00 glo sticks. I usually have enough for the entire ship. (at least that's what DH thinks) I guess I should get back to work.

Hello everyone. We just got off the Magic and booked this cruise! We're hoping to stay on this pending DS's school schedule. Woohoo!!! This will be our 4th Disney cruise. Looking forward to it, although we will miss bookending the trip with WDW this time.

Itzkelly, we live in the same town!!!

Do you know how much it is to park at the pier? Should be interesting going out of Galveston. We've only done Port Canaveral. Exciting!

I'll be on this ship with my husband, 4 year old daughter and my parents for now. I have a few friends and family that are interested so we may end being a big group, our last cruise had 15 people. This will be my husband and daughter's 1st Disney cruise, I can't wait for them to experience it. We will be celebrating my mom's b-day onboard, Oct 12. I'm so excited that it's leaving from Texas, I love not paying for airfare :thumbsup2 Has anyone taken a cruise from Galveston, is it expense to leave the car at the port.

Just checked this...

Looks like it's anywhere from $45 to $65 depending on where you park. And quite a bit more for oversized vehicles.

Absolutely. Happy to share anything you are interested to know. First off, its a beautiful ship! You will just love it. Everything is nice and clean. The staterooms are nice too. The entertainment onboard is great and if you have kids, the Oceaneers Club is wonderful. I'll post some pics shortly.

View of the Mickey Pool....lots of fun to be had right here for DS.

Boo to You! Happy Halloween to everyone. Busy weekend for all I'm sure. How's everyone? Has anyone of you been to any of the ports we are headed for next October? We've been to Cozumel but we stayed at a resort and never experienced it on a cruise. Would love to hear everyone's experience about the ports of call.
