A Halloween Adventure in Autism (11/7) Prayer Request for Catie (p.129)

 Some times it sucks to have to be sensible. I hope and pray you get that job :goodvibes. It is wonderful about Ed training about Autism Spectrum, those people don't know how lucky they are to have him teach them :thumbsup2.

Thanks, Tracy, he's very excited. He misses teaching and feels he can really give something back with these classes.

Its important for law enforcement to know that just because someone is acting "strangely" it doesn't necessarily mean they are on drugs or have something suspicious to hide.

Being a responsible adult is hard.

I want to be a kid again!!!

:rotfl:

Good luck on the interview!

Oh, and I've forgotten how to link my PTR to my siggie...help? :flower3:

Sent you a PM! :goodvibes

Kathy

Yes, being sensible is so not fun! :( Good luck on your job interview, and Ed is truly perfect for the class he is going to be teaching. :goodvibes

Thanks, I'm proud of him!

Interview... see below!

It's tough to be sensible, but you're setting a great example for your kids!

Good luck with the interview! :goodvibes

I know, I know. You are right! No one ever said doing the right thing was always going to be easy! ;)

Thank you.

The interview is with a headhunter who is representing the practice, so it is the "first line" interview, so to speak. I don't even know the name of the doctor or where his practice is (except that it is "local") so I think that I will be interviewing them as much as they are interviewing me!!

I'm crossing my fingers you get the job!

Thanks so much!

Kathy

Bummer. It stinks being a 'grown-up' sometimes. ;) Many, many times I've tried to make the Disney Math work for a quick trip but always end up with the same answer, cheap and WDW just don't go together.

Best of luck on the interview!! Hope it all goes well.

Ed's class sounds great, something I'm sure he exceptionally qualified to teach.

Thanks for the help! Linked!

You're welcome, Meg!

"Cheap and WDW just don't go together!" Truer words were never spoken!

Kathy

Go Ed!!!

My DH has been on it once, I think, and that was that. I ride solo now! I'm planning to turn Pea into a thrill ride lover like her Mommy though!!

Being the grownup, and doing the responsible thing can be a real drag at times.

On the flip side, there can be a peace achieved when you know you are making the right choice, I hope that's the case here.

GOOD LUCK tomorrow, we will be interviewing at the same time so I hope it goes well for both of us :thumbsup2

Well, my friend Julie (mousescrapper) really kind of summed it all up in a nutshell: A little trip to WDW is so tempting, but, we have to be sensible.

I've crunched and crunched and crunched the numbers this way and that. Unfortunately the high cost of Spring Break airfare and the fact that I would need to purchase park tickets... even if only for a single day... make the Derm Convention trip just too expensive. (Remember, there would be the cost of the convention, too.)

*Heavy* *Heavy* *Sigh* :sad1:

If you recall, we did a complete home renovation in 2008. I love my new home, but the fact is we are still paying for it. Dearly.

That's the big reason why we are skipping our 2010 Disney trip and putting off until 2011.

So, yes, I must be a big girl and be sensible about it.

Thanks to all of you who expressed regret about not being able to join me... I guess we're all in the same boat. (Or at least sailing on the same rough sea!)

In other news:

I have an interview tomorrow for a full-time job in another dermatology practice. Hopefully that will help me get to Disney in 2011 guilt-free! :thumbsup2

Also, Ed is very excited about a course he will be taking in April. He will be trained in teaching Public Safety Workers (Police/Fire/EMS) about interfacing with people on the Autism Spectrum in ways that will keep both workers and civilians safe. He is the perfect person to teach a class like this! :cheer2: He has an extensive amount of teaching experience and, as you know, has lots of personal experience in this area.

Stay tuned for more trip report installments...

Kathy

First of all - your last update was great - I'm glad Ed tried ToT!! And I love the pictures you took at the Hollywood Hotel. I'll have to make an effort to take in some of those details this year...

Second - Sorry abour your convention trip... :sad2: But here's some pixie dust for the new job pixiedust: and maybe that will help you sneak in a little getaway sometime before 2011. ;)

Hi Kathy!!! :)

I just finished reading through YOUR WHOLE TR!!! :yay: What an awesome Trip so far! Here are just a few of the things I thought about while reading through...

Billy - what a sweetheart! I love reading about his excitement and reactions to everything! What a great kid!

MNSSHP- WOW!!!! :cool1: What a great night! I am so excited to try that some day! We are actually considering September/October for our next trip in 2 years!

AKL/Kidani - I have never desired to go or stay there but after seeing all your wonderful photos, I am in LOVE!!!!! So beautiful!

Catie - WOW!!! Just exactly how tall is she? Both she and your Tricia are lovely girls and what a wonderful big sister Tricia is for Billy!

You made a comment on your AK day about how you thought it would be fun to BE IN the parade....make sure you come on over and check out my next update (not posted yet) about our day at Animal Kingdom! :rolleyes1 I think you might be surprised! ;)

I am now officially subscribed to this TR!!! :thumbsup2

I just got finished wishing Cynthia every blessing on her interview and now it looks as if the same is in order for you, my friend!! I really hope this job works out for you, Kathy!

And for Ed, as well! He IS perfect and will do wonderfully!

I am sad you won't get to meet/room with maroo. Someday, it'd be fun to get us all there together!

Yay for Ed! I was a little afraid at first , now it's one of my very faves! :thumbsup2

YAY for Ed riding ToT! :woohoo: I can just tell that it thrilled Billy for his dad to ride with him!

Hope your interview went well, and you are filling the "Disney jar" again real soon! :thumbsup2

How exciting that you got a family ride in on ToT! Of course, it sounds like this might have been the last time for it with that foreshadowing...

It's such a bummer when reality sets in and keeps us on the somewhat straight and narrow. Hopefully, this interview works out so you can be dreaming of many more trips in the near future!

I mentioned the Flag Family to the biggest boy in the house and he is very excited about the idea. Hopefully, we will be able to do it!

Just checking in for interview updates!

Although if you are like me right now...your brain hurts! I know mine does....

Hope it went well!

Good luck to you tomorrow, Kathy! Many thoughts and prayers your way!!

Sorry about March :sad2: Hope the interview went well.

Thanks for all the positive thoughts and prayers! :goodvibes

I have a second interview scheduled for Thursday and I will get to tour the facility at that time, so I will decide then if I am specifically interested in this position. Nice thing is, I'm now in the data base for the medical recruitment company, so if this doesn't work out there will be other job openings available in the future. :thumbsup2

Have to get back to work now... will respond to more posts later!!
