OK folks, no more of this going two weeks between updates! Since I have been bad about neglecting this TR, I have decided to treat all of you wonderful readers and do two updates in one week! Woo hoo here we go!
This day was our first Epcot day. We were spending two full days there, so we decided to devote the first one to Futureworld and our second to World Showcase (it didn't exactly work out that way in the end, but more about that later!) We got up around 7:15 or so, which came to be the routine this trip. Epcot is Kyle's favorite so we were very excited.
I was determined to see the Rope drop at each park this time around, because I had *Gasp* never seen one before! How un-disser of me, this was my 20th trip and this day was my first rope drop! We got ready and ate our cinnamon buns in line for the bus. I think we were making other people in line drool, sorry people!

They were amazing as usual, and a good way to pass a 10 min. wait for the bus. We made it to the park in plenty of time, and on our way in we passed Daisy Duck. She is my favorite, so Kyle tried to convince me to stop and get a picture, but the commando inside of me said No, we need to get up front so we can see the rope drop ceremony and make the mad dash to Soarin'. He hesitantly agreed, so we headed to the fountain area. Mickey and Minnie were out, but I honestly dont' remember much else because this ceremony was not the most exciting of all the parks. Oh well, at least now I can say I saw it!
Our plan to head to Soarin' first was DUH everyone elses' too haha so when they did drop that rope, oh heavens it was a stampede!

We have nice long legs though so we maneuvered that crowd easily and walked right on in the standby line. We got third row, which freaks me out a smidge because I hate feet and I don't enjoy other people's dangling in front of me

just a little quirk I have! But we were getting FPs to ride again later in the day so I just went with it, besides that ride never disappoints anyways. After our delightful trip over California (this ride always makes me miss my aunts who live in CA and have taken me to see many of the sights in the movie, so it is very nostalgic for me!) Kyle got in the loooong line to score us some FPs while I high-tailed it over to Test Track and got in line. It said 40 mins already, but I hopped in. I was just about to make it inside when DF caught up to me, perfect timing! The wait was really only 20 mins, which was a blessing because that music they play in line is so annoying! Love the ride, but that music wears on your last nerve while you are in stanby and they are letting 80 zillion FP people through while you are stuck. Here is our lovely reaction to said music:
Oh lord we are ridiculous

This is blurry, but on the ride we spotted the hidden Mickey on the whiteboard. It's red, can you spot it?
When we got to the outside part of the ride, you could just feel the heat radiating before they even slid open the doors. From this day on it was steamy weather!!
After that we kept with our usual rotation of rides and hit up mission space. First, I stopped to take a picture of these beauties:
Oh palm trees, why can't you grow in Connecticut?!
Kyle gets dizzy on spinny things but for some reason MS doesn't bug him because he can't actually SEE that he is spinning. We do the more intense side, I love it! I can't stop laughing during the launch. We rode with a father and son and it was their first time on it, they were so excited and it made for a fun ride. At the exit, our new tradition we started in January is to play the spaceship game, don't know what it's called, but Kyle loves it so we did it again. We got picked to be the pilots and our team won woo hoo! I promised DF we could return later in the week, he wanted to try being part of the crew instead. If anyone has never tried this you should stop by, it's cute and fun even if you don't ride MS, it's a nice air conditioned break and never crowded! We also walked out and discovered that it had poured while we were inside, so this day it also served as a great escape from the rain shower.
After we kicked some butt as Team Orion astronauts, it was time to visit Ellen! We really like Energy Adventure, it always cracks me up. And those dinosaurs are very cool. I remember how boring that ride was before they added Ellen and Bill Nye, oh how I loathed being dragged on it as a child! Now I love it and do it every trip
We said goodbye to our energy-knowledgable friends and headed to Mousegears for a few, simply to get a break from the heat! Does anyone else notice the awful sewer smell in this area of the park? You have to hold your breathe to run through that store, it stinks!

However, it was nice and cool so we sucked it up and exited to the other side and went to Club Cool for some more refreshment. Kyle tried to retaliate and get me to drink Beverly (see my last TR, he experienced this for the first time last trip when I got him to try this "yummy drink", hee hee his face was priceless) but this Disney saavy girl said no way and headed for the watermelon!!
If my memory serves me right, we checked out the Seas with Nemo next. Of course I sang along while Kyle laughed at me! Our clamshell, pardon my crazed hair! We look sweaty:
We contemplated seeing Turtle Talk, but decided to stick to watching the dolphins and manatees since in a few years we hope to have little ones with us and will be seeing A LOT of Turtle Talk and other similar things haha. Right before our trip my students were doing animal reports and one of my girls picked manatees so I of course had to tell her about the Seas. Love these guys, they are so cute and peaceful!
On the way out we checked out the Coral Reef menu, we had dinner ressies there that night and couldn't wait to check it out.
It was time for our Soarin' FP, so we headed there next. This time we waited to be in Row 1, and it is so much better! There were still FPs left, I was shocked, so we grabbed some for later that night. We were debating where to go for lunch. Kyle wanted to try Fish and Chips from the UK, but it was 100 degrees and I thought I'd die if I ate any fried food in that heat, so I suggested Sunshine Seasons since we were right there anyways. Kyle walked around and checked out the different selections, and thought it looked great. I think the sandwiches hooked him, he loves him a good sandwich (It's the little things in life I guess!) so he hopped in that line and got a turkey one, while I got some chicken and mashed potatos. Then we met up at the bakery to pick a dessert and my eyes were bulging out of my head I think, they looked SO good! I got chocolate mousse cake and Kyle got key lime pie. I paid while he got a seat, it was busy but he snagged the last open one thank goodness! That was probably my favorite CS meal of the entire week, the potatoes were AMAZING and that chocolate cake was out of this world.
Kyle's food. Look at him waiting patiently to take the darn picture when all he wanted to do is EAT ALREADY
My yummy selections:
I swear it is the same cake they serve at Le Cellier? I had it at both places and could not tell the difference, anybody else ever had them both and noticed this? I was seriously stuffed, it was a huge meal, you definitely get your moneys worth with meal credits there.
We rested for a few more minutes, then Kyle suggested doing Living with the Land. We had watched the wait time fluctuate a ton while we ate. In a matter of 1/2 an hour it went from 5 mins to 40, down to 20, back to 40, it was nuts! By the time we got to the entrance it was 10, so I agreed that this was a good place for us to wait for the food coma to subside after that huge lunch haha. This ride is so peaceful, we really enjoy it.
Umm a nondescript plant? Oops I don't know what this is lol
After our nice break, we decided to check out Innoventions. Neither of us had done this in years and I had read that they opened some new stuff, so we headed inside. The first thing we stumbled upon was The Great Piggy Bank Adventure, it looked intruiging and the line was short so we said why not and hopped in. We ended up chatting with a nice CM who happens to be from the area in upstate NY where my Mom grew up, so that was nice. Then it was our turn for the adventure. This is so cute! You get this adorable little piggy bank and you carry him thoughout the attraction playing games to save money that will go towards something,it could be a house, vacation, etc. Here is Kyle and Piggy, oh so cute!
We of course picked to save for a vacation since we are currently saving for a honeymoon! You have to save as a much as you can by collecting during the different games and protect your money from the Big Bad Wolf, it teaches you all about money management. It was very fun, we even got an email from them and we can play the game online.
Next we did the storm experience, the actual name escapes me now. It was a 3D movie type thing, and you have to make predictions of what things make a house the most prepared to withstand storm damage. I am a dork and watch the weather channel for fun sometimes, so I liked it. It was cool, but I'm not sure we'd do it again. If you have kids, this would be scary for them!
