Hello lovely people
I've not been on this boards wedding pages (or many other pages at all) but it seems very up to date and lots of questions and trippies everywhere.

I have some questions about VERY early planning stages, and was hoping a few of you could help me

I think I will be having a S&D wedding for sure, the beach location more likely than not, but we shall see.

I'm just wondering if any one has any up to date prices for S&D weddings? The ones I've seen seem to change all the time, are the ones on the site at the moment correct?
I think I'd go for the full package and just add in a little cake, and photography! I like to think everything would be done and sorted

Second question is about what to do in the evening
I think it will either be dessert party at GF watching Wishes, or a Wishes Cruise
As I wouldn't be a DFTW bride, am I allowed to wear my dress to these?

If I do the cruise, I will probably get the private dining in to do a few bits and pieces and champagne on board.
So if any one has done this, plus let me know the costs :)

Also if you have had a dessert party (with the music played in) I'd love to know the cost of that also

My last question is about photos
I've heard a few things flying around about non DFTW brides not being able to have photographs (in their dresses) around some of the resorts- is this the case? I know many people have, and I believe technically you're allowed to wear your dress in the resort restaurants, so just wanted to check

I am slowly getting through as many S&D wedding trip reports as possible, but if any one would like to link me to theirs feel free too

TIA :cool1:

You can wear your dress anywhere but inside the parks—even Disney brides can't wear their wedding gowns inside the parks, unless they are having a catered event there.

Also if you have had a dessert party (with the music played in) I'd love to know the cost of that also

  • $500-$1,000 food and beverage minimum
  • No venue rental fee
  • $500 for audio feed

Again, the only places on property where you can't wear a wedding gown are the parks. There was a DIS bride a few months ago who had a bizarre interaction with an officious and ill-informed cast member at the Grand Floridian that you might be thinking of.

Thank you so much, you're a star.
I didn't know about the celebration package, so this is really good to know

Hi!

I had also heard, that if you are a DFTW brides have priority for photos in places like the GF, but not sure if this is true? Which could mean you may have to wait until they are finished?

I've not heard that, but always good to know. I can live with that, if it is the case x

Would any one also know if I got private dining on a Disney cruise if I'd have to meet any minium or anything? I'm hoping they don't work like that, and it's just what I have
TIA

Do you mean on the DCL or something like a Wishes Cruise?

BTW Where in Wiltshire are you? My SIL lives in Calne -- it's so pretty out that way!

Yes, sorry, the Wishes Cruise...

I live vwry near to Calne, in Wootton Bassett & then work the other side in Devizes :) x

Aw small world indeed! Wave to me the next time you drive past
that sounds fab, thank you. I haven't seen anything about it, so was hoping that would be the case.
Thanks for your help x

I am a S&D bride that will be having my ceremony on the beach. I plan on taking pictures at the BC, Swan, Poly, and monorail, maybe getting off around there to take more if time allows. I have Randy Chapman for a photographer and he didn't have a problem with any of those resorts. I have booked an Epcot Illuminations cruise and haven't heard anything about minimums at all.

Food is delivered to the various cruises by Private Dining, not Disney Catered Events, so there are no minimum expenditures. It works like ordering room service at a resort. :thumbsup2

Fab :) This sounds perfect!
Have been having a read of your wedding trippie & it all looks amazing (and very much the sort of thing I'd love!!!)
Thanks for your help xx

Hi sweetie
I see our amazing Carrie has helped you out with the latest prices on the S/D packages.
As you may know, I had a S/D VR and a reception meal at Citrico's. We shot photos (in full wedding attire) at BLT, Swan/Dolphin, Boardwalk and GF (beach and lobby). We were never once asked what we were doing, or challenged in any way!! In fact, all the CMs who spoke to us, offered sincere congratulations!! As Carrie says, any bride (DFTW or not), is entitled to wander around WDW to her hearts content in her wedding dress, provided she doesn't go into a park.
As regards DFTW brides having 'right of way', I think this is a sort of unwritten rule. We had Randy as our photographer and he is very respectful of other brides. When we arrived at the GF, there was another bride having photos done on the staircase. We just went and shot outside for a while and when we came in again, she was gone and we shot on the staircase etc., with no trouble at all.

Yes indeed :)
This all sounds wonderful, so thank you very much. I have looked through your VR trippie and adore your photos very much.
