Thank you everyone for your thoughts and prayers. I really appreciate you all pulling for my family.
My future sister-in-law, Karolina, passed away yesterday afternoon. Her brain had been too heavily damaged from the aneurism, and she was declared brain dead. I was able to fly up on Wednesday night, to support my brother and say our last goodbyes. My brother had been dating Karolina for eight years, and she was already a big part of our family. I loved her like a sister and we are all going to miss her very much.
To make matters even worse, Karolina's father suffered from a debilitating stroke on Wednesday night. He lives in Poland and had flow in that day, we think the shock of the news and seeing his daughter in such a state just was too much for his body to handle.
This whole situation has been unbearable, but please keep Karolina's brother especially in your prayer, to loose a sister and to have your father fall devastatingly ill all in just 24 hours is too much for anyone to bear.
The only ray of light in this whole situation is that my family made the choice to donate Karolina's organs. Karolina was such a vibrant, loving person, and I know she would have wanted nothing more than to give the gift of life to others. To know that another family is being spared this grief is what I am clinging to during this terrible time.
Please stick with me, I'll be back sometime next week to continue this TR. I think that reliving happy memories and concentrating on the positive will be very helpful.
