A Contemporary Halloween - Oct 2012 PTR -- updated 6/24

They do take it into consideration. They say F&W effects crowd levels but not necessarily wait times because a lot of people go specifically for the F&W events and skip the attractions.

Ok, awesome! I guess I just misunderstood what I read. Thanks for clearing it up :thumbsup2

Couldn't help yourself huh?Had to throw in your December trip too! Hahaha. Just kidding... I loved it!

I hope we can afford to do MNSSHP atleast once on our trip- although we are excited at our remaining balance and feel a lot more confident then we did!! :cool1:

Sorry, I couldnt resist!

We havent payed much for this Oct trip. I was so focused on getting that Dec trip paid off and now that it is just about taken care of I can really focus on this Oct trip.

Its always so nice to see that "balance due" number keep dropping :)

Happy New Year!!

A new year, a new start. Yesterday was officially the end of DH as a head coach, and begins full time faculty. He is still going to be helping out as an assistant with coaching, but I am loving the fact that he will be home more often.

Another year for New Years resolutions. Our resolution, to get back into shape. We sort of "fell of the wagon" middle of last year and just quit working out. We started walking 2 miles again recently, and beginning next week we are starting Insanity. We made it just over halfway through Insanity's 2 month program last year before going on vacation to Vegas and never really getting back with it. This year we are determined to get through the entire 2 month program. We do pretty well in eating healthy, uh, besides all those pesky holiday desserts :scared1:

Here is wishing everyone a great 2012!!

Happy New Year to you too!! Congrats on the December plans - how exciting!! :cool1:

I think in Oct, I'd choose the Thursday night for your F&W adventures. Maybe slightly lower crowds at the booths.

I don't do resolutions, though I *am* hoping that BF'ing makes me lose weight past my original pre-preggo weight. If not, then I'll be working hard to lose 10-15 lbs. DH, OTOH, has a no drinking & losing weight goal. He likes to have a scotch or something at night, which without fail makes him snore. LOL. So he stopped drinking altogether, but of course I don't care if he has a couple drinks when we go out or whatnot. He already knows I'm excited to get back into wine once I pop this LO out!!

I'm so back and forth and which day for F&W, but I think you are probably right about the slightly lower crowds on Thurs.

I never had much luck w/ BF'ing any of the kiddos. DD was my best attempt at it, we lasted about 4 months.

I dont need to lose much, 10lbs maybe. I'm pretty lucky in that once I start working out, it comes off pretty easy.

We dont drink much, but do enjoy a glass of wine here or there, although I have every intention of having a Lapu Lapu one day when we hop over to the Poly. I have never had one, but any drink served out of a pineapple sounds mighty yummy to me :)

Mmmm Lapu Lapus are definitely a must-do for me!! I am looking forward to our dinner at Ohana just for this and the bread pudding. :goodvibes

Did someone say Lapu Lapu? I love those!!! I have to try the Backscratcher next time I'm at the Poly.

December Disney Movie Nights

Dec 3 - Bedtime Stories (Hunter's pick for his 10th birthday!). We all got dressed in PJ's and ate French Toast and sausage. OJ and milk.

Dec 21 - Santa Clause. Not really a special dinner for this one, but it was fun to watch together.

Dec 22 - Santa Clause 2. Made Christmas cookies and ate those with milk. Again, not really any special dinner, but it was still fun.

Dec 23 - Santa Clause 3. No special meal...shame on me! Things were so hectic this week, but we wanted to get all 3 of these movies done.

I have several movie nights planned over the next couple weeks. We did another one last night, will be doing one next weekend (watching Mulan since Chinese New Year is coming up), have a Mickey/Minnie Sweetheart movie for Valentines , another one planned for close to Mardi Gras.

I love Disney Move Nights! Our versions are a bit different:
We watched Tangled on New year's Eve (picture 10 30-somethings all a bit tipsy singing along.. )

We also have a get-in-shape resolution going on. Eating better, no more beer (:guilty: ) and P90X. Have done 1.5 weeks of the work outs so far, and seriously hoping for some results soon!

How funny about Tangled!!

How do you like P90X? I know several people who have done it, but it just doesnt seem like its "for me". I love Insanity, and eventually we may do Asylum.

Ok, I know I have 2 trips in the works, but now I am trying to fast forward my thinking to summer 2013. I'm thinking DL for something different. I pulled up the DL website today and its completely foreign to me...I dont know anything!! :lmao: Looking at some "make believe" dates during July, it seemed really reasonable. I ordered the DL DVD, so I should get that in a few weeks. I dont know if it will happen, but I would like to make it work. We are planning on DCL in a few years, but DH wants Jaxon and Evan to be a few years older...like, 7 & 8. They are 2 & 3 now, so you can see what I mean about it being a few years away...more like an eternity away. Anyways, DL seems really "do-able" for a 2013 trip. So, fingers crossed and if anyone has any DL tips, please share them! In the meantime, I will be doing some DL research on the DIS :thumbsup2

I kinda like P90X... I like weight training, and most of the discs go by pretty quickly. But my workouts in the past have always been a ton of cardio, and I don't feel like I a getting a lot of calorie burn with this program. It's hard to stick with it when you don't see the scale moving as much as you'd like- but I am getting stronger. :confused3 I think I will add in some time on the elliptical, so I feel like I'm working more.

How fun that you may go to DL! I've been a couple times, and once you are there, it doesn't feel so foreign. I really, really like DL and wish it were closer!

I just went to Disneyland in April as part of a travel agent tour group. We toured both parks and all three of the DL resorts plus a bunch of the good neighbor hotels. I did a TR and I can give you the link if you want it. I was a complete newbie to DL before that trip and am much more familiar with it now so if you have any questions, let me know!

Your awesome! I would love the link to the TR!! I am kind of back and forth on what to do. I know everything is so much more compact than WDW, so I'm thinking it may be more economical to just do a good neighbor hotel. I have been checking out a few this afternoon. I'm thinking we would probably drive (although it is 20 hrs!! ugh!!), but I would still like to be in walking distance to the parks if we wanted to be. Not sure if we would go over spring break of next year or summer (thinking Spring break might be better w/ DH work schedule since he teaches quite a bit over summer).

This should take you to the page it's on, starts at post #254. I stuck it in at the end of my WDW TR.

While the Disney hotels are very nice (well 2 outta 3, I wasn't overly impressed with Paradise Pier) the Good Neighbor hotels are actually closer with the exception of the Grand Californian. You can't beat having your own entrance! You can stay in a good neighbor hotel right across the street from the main entrance. There are two Best Westerns across the street that are pretty nice and a Fairfield Inn not far from them. Plus you get the same perks with a good neighbor package as a Disney resort package. It's so different from Disney World!

Awesome, I will go check out that TR now :thumbsup2

If you need more info & pics, my 2010 summer trip is pic heavy & reviews. The links to all my TR's are below. I love the Paradise Pier Hotel.....the staff seems a lot friendly here....the theme for the rooms are beach....so casual. The Disneyland Hotel just went through a huge renovation.....its nice, but it no longer has the "retro" feel it had (as it was the original hotel) & the Grand Californian would be comparable to WDW's Wilderness Lodge (not my cup of tea & too dark). I have been told by people that stay at the GCH....the rooms are smaller then the ones at the DLH or PPH.

We've stayed at the Howard Johnson's or HoJo & loved it!! They have the most awesome water play area for the kids!! It's a 7-8min walk to the park entrance but we didn't find that to be an issue at all.

A number of the motels across from the entrance are equal in ratings....some have free breakfasts, some free wi-fi, some free parking, etc. It's just a matter of looking for what your needs & wants are for a place.

You can walk between Disneyland & Disney's California Park or Downtown Disney in about 2 mins. Yup, they're that close!!! Won't need a rental car unless you plan on venturing outside Disneyland on your trip.

I'm excited to see both of your PTR's in one......a great place to jot down your thoughts & not have to repeat it in a 2nd one.....lol :rotfl:

CUTE kids!!! I'm sorry to hear about the seizure issues. We thought our daughter (the one with all the issues) was having seizures & she had all sorts of testing done (the one with all the wires glued to her head, sedated cat-scan).....nothing showed up, thank goodness but her bio dad does have grand-mal seizures...so it's something we need to watch. I think it was an autistic thing she was doing & not actual seizures. Hopefully that's getting better for your little guy!!

Looking forward to following along!!
