$99 HP Touchpad

It sounds like some computer systems got hit hard in this!

I don't see how Amazon is guilty of anything since they are just an intermediary. They have to charge to fullfill the order. HP likely told them that the order was confirmed and then backed out later like they seem to have done to so many people.

Did HP go live again over night? I just got up and checked and the message went from coming soon to out of stock???

Still trying to figure out if I will get one from the asktp website order.

Pretty sure it went directly to OUT OF STOCK -- around 5:30am CST.

Here is a review of the Touchpad from Engadget, which is pretty much the standard for tech related news. Interestingly enough, they decide if it was a $100 cheaper it would be a winner. It is now $300 cheaper. :)

Also for those who are wondering about apps for the touchpad, you can browse the store here:

Thank you for this. Was wondering about the apps.

Yes. A list was published online showing each store number and how many touchpads they were each getting in both 16 and 32gb. Many of the stores are selling them today. They'll be giving out numbered tickets similar to what they do on Black Friday.

WHere was the list published?

Thank you. I"m checking out the apps now. I purchased mine from Datavision's ebay store. Fed Ex dropped it off this morning. I got a charging dock for $40 that arrived today, too.

On Slickdeals, B&H in new york has them in stock , in person, one per person, not sure if accurate but thats what they are reporting.

just saw the best buy a lil bit from me go to in store only and then i called and they were already sold out! argh!

was your order through onsale? Mine must have been cancelled but I have yet to receive anything from them. I just checked my account and there is nothing in there regarding my order. Nice of them to let us know. Kinda ticks me off!

My order cancelled also from Amazon. Disappointed but will figure something out. It took 3 days for them to tell me, but I sitll have a few days to spare for DD birthday!

If you use the order status link provided in confirmation emails (the one that asks for your email as login) you will see little activity. It has shown the same information since the day I ordered.

I just checked the other tracking site and things have updated there. My ship date and delivery date have moved back a few days.

You enter your web order number (which is same as PO number if you have that) and the date you ordered.

Do you mind saying where you got the charging dock for $40 thank you Carol:goodvibes

still waiting for my HP SMB order. Saw this morning that it got pushed back a day which made me nervous. Called a few Best Buys by work and they had a recording they were out. Called the one by home and was told they had a few 16 and 32gigs that just came in. I immediately took my lunch break, drove across town and got there in time to get a 32 gig. (16gig had already sold out) I have to say I am really impressed with it. I dont think anyone who gets one will be disappointed. Good luck to everyone!

Mine got canceled :( so I guess my DD13 will not be getting one for Christmas!

I checked on EBAY just for curiosity sake and they are selling for $200 and up!

Our order got pushed to August 30th - with HP-SMBC.
However, the order is still for both of the 32gb ones that we ordered - so we're still holding out hope!

Seller: You want confirmations?
SlickDealer: I think I'm entitled to them.
Seller: You want a status update?
SlickDealer: I want the truth!
Seller: You can't handle the truth! Son, we live in a world that has warehouses. And those warehouses have inventories that have to be tracked in real time. Who's gonna do it? You? You, Bargain Hunter? I have a greater responsibility than you can possibly fathom. You weep for a Touchpad and you curse OnSale. You have that luxury. You have the luxury of not knowing what I know: that your jumbled order, while tragic, probably saved you money. And my existence, while grotesque and incomprehensible to you, saves money...You don't want the truth. Because deep down, in places you don't talk about on Slickdeals, you want me on this phone. You need me on this phone.
We use words like pending, processing, First-In-First-Out...we use these words as the backbone to a life – a life intent on selling something. You use 'em as the gospel. I have neither the time nor the inclination to explain our order processing to a man who rises and sleeps under the blanket of the very click-and-buy convenience I provide, then questions the manner in which I provide it! I'd rather you just said thank you and logged out. Otherwise, I suggest you pick up a headset and hop in the call queue. Either way, I don't give a damn what you think you're entitled to!
SlickDealer: Did you cancel my order?
Seller: (quietly) I did the job our inventories made me do.
SlickDealer: Did you cancel my order?
Seller: You're gd right I did!!
