Shelly - I know you always post in Red, and I was wondering, do you have to set that font and color every time you post, or is there somewhere you have it set as your default? TIA

You know, I messed with it once a long time ago and couldn't figure out how to set it as default. And then I kind of forgot about it and it has become habit now and I don't even think about it and it takes me about a second to do it each time!

Hey Lady who wants a Churro, hold the headache...

You are a Burro Loco.

:rotfl2::rotfl2::rotfl2:

Sorry- I din't mean to call you a crazy Donkey- I swear it-- there's just a restaurant called the Burro Loco and it rhymed with Churro.

:rotfl::rotfl::rotfl:

You aren't crazy. You aren't a donkey either.

Santa may have had a Harley, I don't know!! :lmao:

Yes, the boys loved the Star Wars concert. The character meet & greets were a nice surprise too! And they were pros at it. Some of the other kids were too shy, but my boys just jumped right in there!

Maybe you should take your DH for a POR tour on this trip. Let him get a feel for it. Have lunch at the food court, walk the grounds, etc. I'm not sure he'll like it was much at CBR, but he just might be surprised!

I used to see a chiropractor for my back. Haven't gone in quite a long time. DH seems to think a good adjustment will make my headaches go away.

Yes, WCC seems to be one of those love it or hate it kind of places. You don't hear too many people say they kind of liked it or it was just okay. It's usually either - we loved it or we hated it. :confused3

The desserts were very good though! :cloud9:

I'm SO SORRY you hated WCC...we're the "love it" people. I saw your skillet pic and I was just about licking the screen. The hamburger helper we had for dinner just didn't cut it! :rotfl:

I forgot to quote about taking pictures of people...well, my DH is a bit, um...I don't know how to describe him...but every trip he tries to see how many "funny" pics he can get. We say that he goes into "stealth mode." He's not quite right sometimes!! :confused3

We have a friend that uses a local Chiro and looooves him...I am thinking about going next time I get a migraine...lots easier than dealing with a neuro that's for sure!!! I just hope I don't get one anytime soon...... I never notice my neck hurting or being tight tho'...do you? Or do we just not realize it? Hate to get gross...but mine get so bad that my right eye(always right-sided) will start pouring water and before long I will throw up. Which of course, brings a lot of relief....not a cure, but some relief. Crazy.

The taking pictures of strangers reminded me of my first trip to WDW. DH and I went in June 1999 (ugh hot!). I saw this man, he was so funny dressed I couldn't help myself! He was the stereotypical tourist. Plaid shorts, striped polo-style shirt, white knee-high tube socks, blue sneakers, baseball hat (Might have been a Goofy one, I forget) and glasses. Had the big camera hanging around his neck with a wide embroidered strap! I just about peed my pants. He was a bit away from me so I snapped the shot. I'd post, but it was pre-digital camera.
I'll see who I can capture this trip!

I do notice my neck and upper back being tight and achy before/during the migraines. They make me quite nauseous too, but thankfully never to the point where I have gotten sick.

:rotfl2: Well I'm glad we aren't the only ones who do crazy things on vacation!! Actually that is the first time we have done it, and I will blame it on DS10! :rotfl:

Afternoon TR friends! :goodvibes

Well Santa's Workshop (or Santa Drawers as some of you call it! :rotfl:) is over!! Wow that was a lot of work and I am exhausted.

I probably won't get to an update tonight, but will definitely do one tomorrow.

Things to come in Day 3 ~ More POR pics, the boat ride to DTD, lunch at Wolfgang Puck Express, lots of shopping, time at the Boardwalk, dinner at Big River Grille, and IllumiNations. :cloud9: What a great day that was!

Thanks for the link! I totally thought you were making that up!! :lmao:

:rotfl:
Nope not made up -totally real. I've eaten there! And the whoile time I was saying "I can't believe I'm eating at a place called the crazy donkey!"

Only I used a word that I can't say b/c it would be bleeped.

....With an 'R' in it of course, b/c if you say it that way, your mama doesn't slap yo' face for being bad.

What darling boys you have - they are SO cute! Sorry to hear about that loud lady - and I agree that having to eat dinner in a loud restaurant with a migraine would only make it worse. Sounds like a fun filled day tho - twice on EE is so much fun but also upsetting on the tummy (mine anyway) :lmao:

I am helping a friend book their trip in May to stay at WL and I hope they love it. It looks so peaceful! My bro-in-law and wife stayed at Port Orleans back in 1996 and loved it. They had a corner room and fell in love with the place. They liked it better than BWV when they went with us in 1997.

Hey Shelly,

So you are longer a snowbird huh? I have a quick question for ya. What were your dates that you were doen there? Chuck has agreed to do a Nov trip 2010 to see the Christmas decorations. Trying to get an idea on crowds & weather for the month.:)

Yes, 2 times in a row on EE was a little more than my stomach could handle! DH said we went on it too soon after eating lunch. :confused3 Maybe that was it!

I hope your friends enjoy the WL in May. May is a great time to go to WDW!

Hey there! Long time no "see"!

We did give up the January 2010 trip for November 2009. But hey it did snow here once before our trip, so that still makes us Snowbirds, right??! :rotfl:

We were there November 7th-15th. Crowds were low and the weather was great. Definitely less crowded than our January trip. Pretty similar to our mid May trips as far as crowds go. I will never understand Disney's "seasons" and rates. The end of January is Value season and mid November and mid May are Regular season. :confused3

But anyway, I will try to post our wait times as I go along in the TR. As well as I can remember them anyway! But once Jersey Week was over (we arrived on the last day) the crowds really thinned out and we had no real long wait times. All the parks were decorated during our stay (with the exception of AK, but I hear it was decorated later in the week that we were there), the castle lights were up & the Osborne Lights were up, but the resorts were not decorated yet. I think that came the closer to Thanksgiving.

The weather was very nice. We had high winds from tropical storm Ida, but other than that it was nice. Right around 80 each day except for one day it was about 65. We only had rain one evening and it was after 8:00.

Aw, Shelly will ALWAYS be a Snowbird, right? :goodvibes

Of course! :thumbsup2

I asked the kids last night if they remembered the crazy WL bus lady! At first they didn't know what I was talking about, but then I said -- you know, the lady on the bus that practically sat on DS8 and then proceeded to yell, clap, and stomp. :crazy2: Then they were like -- oh yeah, I remember her. And DS10 says -- what was wrong with her anyway??? :rotfl2:

Okay, so it is now Day 3 at Disney!! Monday November 9th. We had no real plans for this day. No park plans, no definite ADR plans. We did have a dinner ADR at San Angel Inn, but weren't sure if we were going to keep it or not at this point. . . It has very mixed reviews, much like WCC, and we weren't sure we wanted to risk it again!

So we slept in and got up probably around 8-8:30. Took our time and got ready and headed out for a leisurely stroll to the POR boat to DTD.

We got to the boat dock around 9:45, not knowing that the boats didn't start until 10:00. :confused3 I guess I just figured they started at 9:00. But it was okay, we weren't in any big hurry. There was a huge line of people to board the boat, so we got in line and waited. Right at 10:00 a boat pulled up. The line started to move. It stopped at the family that was in front of us. The boat was full! They said to wait here and another boat would be coming in a few minutes. And sure enough another one pulled up before the first one had even left. We picked a seat up by the front. We remembered riding the boat to DTD when we had stayed at POFQ and having to sit in the back and it being very loud and unpleasant. So we sat up near the front this time. Our boat driver was very nice and funny. I thought he looked (and sounded) very much like Chris Farley! We made a stop at POFQ and then were on our way to DTD. The driver told jokes the whole way! The kids thought he was hilarious!! We were getting some pretty high winds from tropical storm Ida and I thought the boat was going to tip over! It was VERY WINDY!! The wind even blew the boat driver's hat into the Sassagoula River! :faint:

Continued. . . . .

As we approached DTD our driver told us all about the new Characters in Flight hot air balloon ride at DTD. He told us the cost (I can't remember exactly how much, but I thought it was reasonable) and said that you are on it for just less then 10 minutes. 3 minutes to get up there, 3 minutes at the top, and 3 minutes to get back down. He said you can see all of WDW and all of downtown Orlando. Sounds like fun, huh??? He then informed us that it was closed today due to -- HIGH WINDS!! Not that we had any definite plans to do it, but we had talked about it a bit and DH said he thought it would be fun. Which is surprising, he's not really a fan of heights.

As we "disembarked" from the boat DS10 asked DH for some money. DH of course asked what for. DS said that he wanted to tip the boat driver! So DH gives him a couple of bucks and DS goes to the boat driver and hands him the money and says -- here, this is for being funny!! :rotfl: Oh that kid is something else!! The driver took the money and said -- I do what I can! :lmao: From what I could see this was the only tip he got. Which brings me to the question of -- are we supposed to tip the bus/boat drivers at Disney??? I mean, if we tipped every bus/boat driver we would be broke by day 2! And are they supposed to/allowed to accept tips? Of course we always tip the ME driver and the Bell Services van/golf cart drivers. But the only time we have ever tipped the regular bus/boat drivers was once when we had a 7:30am ADR at Ohana and the bus driver took us straight from CSR to the Poly (because we were the only ones on the bus), and then this boat guy!

Next up: Lots of DTD shopping and lunch at WPE!
