9 days 2 resorts FREE Dining Christmas Lights & a bouncing Tigger who stole my heart

So we had just done the Safari and it was about an hour until parade time. We really wanted to see Mickey's Jammin Jungle parade since we hadn't seen it since our very first trip back in 2005. No one was really lined up for the parade yet and we didn't want to sit around for an hour so we headed to Camp Minnie-Mickey.

The lines weren't too long. DS8 and I got in Minnie's line. :lovestruc (for those of you who don't know, DS8 just loves Minnie!) And DS10 and DH got in Goofy's line. Not sure what become of their pictures, but I can't seem to find them anywhere.

Then DS10 and I got in line for Mickey. I thought DS8 and DH were getting in line for Donald, but instead they decided to just take a little break I guess.

Just as we were done there the FOTLK let out. Mass people everywhere. We were wishing we had gotten a spot for the parade sooner. But we did end up finding a great spot on the left right before the entrance to Africa.

Can anyone guess why the kids picked this spot??? And who they thought I was sitting by? :rotfl: DS10 very discreetly walked out into the parade path and took this picture! :santa:

So we sat next to "Santa" & his family and had a very nice conversation with them. He is somewhat of a Disney expert and talked a lot about pin trading. He was actually a retired elementary art teacher. Very nice man. We saw him the next day at DTD!

On the other side of us was a family with 2 little girls about the boys ages. The 2 girls were going at it like crazy. Whining and fighting. :sad2: The boys were staring at them and looking at me like they had never seen anything like it! I took the opportunity to point out to them how ridiculous they look and sound when they do the same exact thing. (which they had just done earlier in the day!) They didn't seem to recall ever acting that way. :confused3:rotfl:

Finally the parade started and it was awesome!!

After the parade was over we made our way out of the park and got in line for the WL bus (where my migraine came on ) to go to our WCC ADR.

^^ I guess I need to apply for that job at Imagineering then. :lmao:

Shelly - GREAT Star Wars report! That was definitely not "off topic". The boys look like they had a awesome time. That is fantastic that they had character meet and greets and memorabilia. That rocks!

Yes, that would be a great job for you!!

I knew there was going to be memorabilia, but the character meet & greets were a nice surprise! The kids were thrilled!!

Great update, Shelly! I cannot believe that in all of our visits we have never seen the AK parade! From your pictures, it looks like my DD8 will enjoy it...guess we have to plan for that in March!

Great pictures of the parade! Can you believe I have never seen it? Probably won't this year either b/c we're not planning on getting to AK. Yup, I can skip it too.

I LOVE the Santa story. So cute!

I wouldn't mind having Donald's truck. That is too cool!

Ha ha...the smirk on your face is quite funny...Santa looks like an old ZZ top member 20 years into the future.

Thanks! :goodvibes Yes, you've got to see it! It's very cute!

Thank you! :) Wow I can't believe you haven't seen it either. We usually miss it because we go to AK at opening and are done by 12:00 or 1:00. The parade is at 3:45. This time we didn't get to AK until about 11:00 and left right after the parade.

I prefer Minnie's jeep myself! So cute!

:laughing:I was thinking the same thing about ZZ Top!

SANTA at AK! I had to laugh thinking to myself about Santa Drawers... which btw my DDs school does not do. We went to another school's Christmas Craft Show etc, and they had a "Santa Drawers" event and she loved it, she was in a strange place, but she was independently shopping for the people she loved  So I am recommending it to her school, and I suppose that means I'll have to be the organizer :scared1:

I had to come and thank you :worship:- I followed your advice of quoting a fall vacation (October 2010 dates), and now sure enough about 4 days later a PIN code!:banana::banana::banana: (I just received it via email so I hopped back on the DIS)
It's quite hidden in there with all the text, not like the other codes I have gotten! I quoted for 2 different resorts and it sent for the second quote I did at the GF! I bet they want to sell me on that room! :woohoo:

Thanks for sharing - Joanne

I hope your DD's school does something like this. It really is fun for the kids!

And I don't know anything about Star Wars, but some of them dudes look like they are mean mean mean and I wouldn't want to come upon them in a back alley somewhere. Especially that dude with the orange glowing eyes. Blech.

How cool! :santa: If he's not too tired of spending time with little kids, I'm sure he'd have no trouble getting a seasonal job as a mall Santa!
Or filling in for ZZTop if one of them gets sick while on tour.

Wow I can't believe so many of you have never seen the parade at AK. I bet no one else has had their picture taken with ZZ Top Santa either! :santa::rotfl:

Aww, I knew you missed Pittsburgh!! It misses you too. You really should come back for a visit!

I know, some of those Star Wars dudes are just creepy! :scared: The kids sure don't think so. DS10 was like -- hey can I hold your gun??

That's okay Sea! You can post anything you want here!! :thumbsup2

Actually that reminded me that we got a card/coupon thingy with a code on it when we were at MK for that movie. I think I have to go online and enter the code to get free kids tickets to it. Now, if I only knew where I put it. . . . :confused3

He definitely could! As we were sitting there we saw lots of kids saying -- hey mom there's Santa!! :santa:

I know, the boys acted so shocked that those girls were fighting over something so dumb. SERIOUSLY???
