Welcome! :goodvibes

Looks like a really pretty ride to DTD!

Have fun today! It's snowing and yucky here.

It was a nice ride to DTD, but so windy! We ended up taking the bus back to POR rather than the boat.

DH ended up having to go into work this morning. So the kids and I went to a craft show and then the movie. We were hoping it would warm up while we were in the movie, but it didn't. It is freezing here today!! No snow, but so cold. DH met us for lunch and then we went to the train display, but it was just too cold to stay and do any of the other activities so we came home. I don't think we will make it back for the parade tonight.

Still Monday November 9th ~

We finally arrived at DTD!! :cool1: First stop was the Pin Trading store. The kids were hoping the pin trading station was open, but no such luck. :confused3 We checked again later in the day and still nothing.

Then it was onto Once Upon a Toy. Where we looked at lots and lots of toys. The boys save their own money from report cards, birthdays, holidays, chores, etc. for their Disney spending money. So we let them make their own choices. But we try to "guide" them a bit to making good choices. We told them to just look for now because we were going to the World of Disney next and then lunch and we would buy their things after lunch.

World of Disney ~ This store is so awesome! :cloud9: It was even more awesome this time than ever before because they had Christmas decorations & merchandise and were playing Christmas music. :santa:

Continued. . .

Some of my purchases!

Got the Mickey head wreath in the top right hand corner of this picture. I'll have to post a better picture later when I get my Christmas pictures loaded.

DisneyNovember2009218.jpg

A toast press. You press this into your bread before you put it into the toaster and the Mickey head comes out in your toast. Or at least it is supposed to! It works okay, but not great.

DisneyNovember2009220.jpg

Some dish towels.

DisneyNovember2009221.jpg

A 2010 calendar.

DisneyNovember2009225.jpg

And some scrapbooking supplies.

DisneyNovember2009226.jpg

I had the Four Parks CD in my hand but put it back. . . I might have gone back for it later in the week though. . . :rolleyes1

Of course when I got to the check out counter the CM asked me if I wanted to buy a Disney tote for $10 since I had spent over $40. I certainly didn't need another Disney tote, but of course got one anyway!! :rotfl: I was going to give it away as a Christmas gift, but now am thinking about keeping it. After all, it is different from the one I got last time!

Up next: Lunch at Wolfgang Puck Express :cool2: and the rest of our day at DTD.

I've been reading along at work, but I finally got caught up on the pictures! Great report so far!!

I hope to see WDW at Christmas soon. It looks awesome. :cloud9:

I'm in mourning this morning, so please excuse my lack of joie de vivre.

Wonderful update on DTD. We really don't spend much time there- but hoping to remedy that with our next relaxing trip.;)

Can't wait for WPE review--- I am going to try that this trip instead of the sit down WP restaurant--- and also love the stuff you bought. I should have told you to grab me a cookie cutter. I'm such a dummy- I need one for cookies this year.

Sorry your weekend has been so bitterly cold. You mean it's not a WARM 45 degrees out??? lol...;) We're freezing over here too, but it's definitely not anywhere like the old stomping grounds.:goodvibes

Anyway, thanks for feeding my need as always. I'll return the favor one day.

Shelly - That pic of your son in the Star Wars section was a riot. His facial expression looks like he struck gold. Great pix!

Jo - What kind of cookie cutters are you looking for? I can pick them up next Saturday for you. I hope you day gets better.

Sorry about the Gators JO!

You really should spend some time at DTD on your next trip. It's relaxing and fun at the same time. Great shopping, great food, great atmosphere, etc. Find a bench and people watch, that's always entertaining!!

WPE will be my next update. This was the 3rd time we've been there. It's always good!

Nope, no warm 45 degree temps here this weekend!! More like 30.

Thanks Sea! Yes, it's always like striking Star Wars gold at DTD!! :yoda:

Shelley,
Finally able to check in and respond. For some reason when I log in, it says "Welcome Drakes" but my Quick Links for by subscriptions is not there :confused3 So I truly am not logged in.

Anyhow - love the DTD pics. I was planning on not going there this coming trip. We never end up buying anything that we couldn't get anywhere else? But we'll see, we may have time to kill on our last day as we have the red eye flight!

Also thank you for letting us know about the ABC Disney Special, We pvr'd it and I watched it alone. DD was at a sleepover and DH was at work. I the watched it again in the morning, I loved the scenes they showed from Princess and the Frog - so I then went and added the cd to my shopping cart at amazon :rolleyes1.

We have been busy doing our extra duty scrub down cleaning this weekend, some more Christmas decorating, and the never ending laundry :laundy:. I am finally taking my break now and soon I'll have to cook supper :headache:

Drakes - We saw the The Frog and the Princess a few days ago and I definitely agree with you the soundtrack for the movie is great. This film is not to be missed in the theaters. - Sea

Great to hear! We`re trying to plan what day this weekend works best. I`d like to go when it opens here - on the 11th :yay:They`ve done a great job hiding how Tiana becomes a princess... and I am not reading any reviews or spoliers... I am interested to see the story for myself... and I love that Emeril is the Gator! popcorn::

I see that you are going to WDW in a few weeks. I hope they will be still performing Princess Tiana's Showboat at Magic Kingdom. I have only caught parts of it at DL and now I want to see the full performance to relive the music. Sea

Good morning everybody!

Hope everyone enjoyed their weekend. It was quite cold here. That kind of put a damper on our town's Christmas festivities Saturday. But no real snow to speak of! I did end up making a major Christmas gift purchase Saturday. The kids have been asking (begging) for a Wii. We weren't going to get them one because we had just spent so much on the Star Wars concert tickets and that was their Christmas gift from us (the rest of the gifts will be from Santa), but WalMart had that Wii special going on. Buy it for $199 get a $50 WalMart gift card. So how could I pass that up??? :rotfl: They are going to be so surprised!! :yay::yay:

Poor DS8 got sick through the night Saturday night. And we had gone out to dinner that evening and he ate a lot. So it was nasty! I'm not sure why my kids have such a hard time making it to the bathroom when they have to throw up. So we were up at 2:00AM cleaning up a mess in his room. Then again Sunday morning after Church when it was daylight and we could see what we missed the night before. :sad2: Yuck!

Sorry if that was too gross too early! :scared: :rotfl: But I figure most of us here are parents (maybe all of us) and are used to those types of things!

But anyway he only got sick the one time, thankfully. And no one else had got it. Again, thankfully! :goodvibes He was feeling much better Sunday, just didn't eat a whole lot.

Hey Drakes! :goodvibes Glad you were able to check in and respond!

I have trouble logging into the DIS sometimes too. :confused3 Sometimes I will log in and it will say "Welcome Momof2disneyboys" and then it will go to the next page and I am not logged in at all. And it will do it over and over. Usually when that happens I have to close all my windows and start over. Weird.

I really enjoyed that Disney special too. It (and Sea's report) really made me want to see the Frog Princess!

I can't imagine a trip to WDW without going to DTD!! We just really enjoy the atmosphere. We usually end up there 2-3 times during the week, for about 4 hours each time! Sometimes we but lots of stuff and sometimes we leave there with nothing at all!

So after lots of shopping at the World of Disney we were getting hungry. It was about 11:45 and we headed to Wolfgang Puck Express. This would be the third time we have been there.

WPE Menu ~ http://www.allears.net/menu/menu_wpe.htm

The menu is pretty extensive and we were standing there with several other people staring at the menu board. A CM then came and gave us paper menus to look at. DH and I were looking to try something new that we hadn't gotten there before, that's why we were so taking so long! The kids knew just what they wanted. We finally made up our minds and went to the counter to order.

DH ordered the "Chicken Aioli Pocket - roasted all natural chicken breast, mozzarella, red onions, chopped Romaine, and Roma tomatoes in Cilantro Aioli" and I ordered the "Chicken Tortilla - Spicy all-natural chicken, onions, sautéed red and yellow peppers and oven-roasted tomatoes tossed with tortilla sauce, topped with mozzarella, rolled in a warm, all-natural garlic focaccia bread." Not really paying attention to what each other had ordered. DS10 ordered the kids pizza meal and DS8 ordered the kids chicken tenders (the best chicken tenders in all of WDW!;) ) When the CM at the register repeated our order back to us he said - I have one kids pizza, one kids chicken tenders, and 2 Chicken Melts. I am like -- I don't think DH and I ordered the same thing. And the CM said -- the Chicken Tortilla and the Chicken Pocket are the same thing - a Chicken Melt. :confused3 Okay, then! And the bill showed 2 "Chicken Melts". And sure enough we both got the same exact thing. So why are they listed as 2 different things on the menu???

We went and found a seat. We would have liked to sit outside, but the wind was just too crazy. Our waitress brought our food out to us. This is another place I am confused on the tipping. You order at the counter. You get your own drink from the beverage station. But then someone brings your food out to you and refills your drinks. We did tip because she was very nice and our food was brought out in a timely manner. Everything was very good.

DS8's Chicken Tenders ~

DisneyNovember2009237.jpg

Not sure why, but apparently I don't have a picture of DS10's pizza. . . :confused3 I'll have to look and see if he has one.

With the DDP you can get frozen yogurt with one topping for your dessert. So we all chose that! I got chocolate chips on mine. DH and DS10 got reese's pieces. DS8 got crushed cookies. They were all very good except for DS's crushed cookies. We all tried it since we figured it was just him being picky and saying the cookies tasted bad. But we all agreed he was right, those cookies were nasty! So I ended up sharing mine with him.

Another very good meal at WPE! We used 4 CS credits and the total bill was $66.

After lunch we left WPE and the boys all went off to find a restroom while I found a bench and sat down and called Trixiequilts to tell her how the trip was going and that I had found her keychain the day before at AK!!

Things so come: Would Trixie answer her phone??? And more shopping at DTD, an afternoon at the POR pool, dinner at Big River Grille, and maybe a little stop at Epcot!

Ooh, your boys are going to be excited about the Wii! :cool1:

We're finally getting one too. I bought one here a couple of weeks ago, but DH was going to the States this week for work and was also going to see his sister, so he asked if she would go to Walmart on Saturday AM to get us one! She did, so he's going to bring it back in his suitcase  along with $50 worth of other stuff he's going to buy at Walmart! Now I have to return the one I bought here. :upsidedow

Sorry to hear DS was ill...hopefully it was just a one-and-done thing.

They had been talking about the Wii a little bit before the Disney trip. Then ever since they went to the Kids Club at the BC and played the Wii for 3 hours they have been talking about it non-stop and begging for one! I was going to wait for DS10's birthday this spring, but I couldn't pass up that WalMart deal!
