9/9/07 Wonder 4-day

Laxmom,

Just checking in to see if your hubby is feeling better. He has just got to get better! If he isn't in too much pain maybe you can strap him to a surf board prop him up somewhere near the pool and have some crew memeber give him some alcohol until he can't feel anything!:rotfl2: :rotfl2: :rotfl2: .

Seriously, I hope he is doing okay. I can't even imagine his pain. Can he at least move a little?
Sending a second dose of pixie dust your way.:wizard: :wizard: :wizard: :wizard: :wizard: :wizard:

Hey Fast Pass! Things are progressing s...l...o...w....l....y. He is still in a great deal of pain in the mornings and is sleeping on a mattress from the sofa bed that we put on the floor in the living room. He has to get up in the morning, eat quickly, take meds and go back to bed until meds take effect because the pain is so severe. Most of the rest of the day is he decent. He can walk, sit for a while and usually watches tv laying on the floor. His boss has canceled all his travel for the next several weeks; he was to be in Phoenix this past week and leave for Canada today. The pain in the leg is receeding; it isn't going all the way to the knee now. Believe it or not, this is all progress and much better than a few days ago. He just can't do anything that involves lifting, bending or twisting without paying a heavy price. Still a couple of weeks before we know if surgery will be necessary - the progress needs to continue.

I think the surf board idea is a great one!!:lmao: I could strap it to a dolly and wheel him around the ship! I think we will be ok and am thinking good thoughts. The plane ride may be a little tough for him but by then I am hoping his pain will be minimal. We have decided that we won't be able to do the excursion that we wanted to in Nassau but hey, we were thinking of staying on the boat anyway so no big deal. And the extra days at the end will probably be spent laying by the pool at the Celebration Hotel instead of a DW park. We really don't care as long as we can make the cruise.

Thanks for the prayers and pixie dust, guys. Keep it coming because I know it is helping. Every step is a baby step. I'll keep you posted.

Susan

Yes, it has been a while since I last posted. Quick update:

Still to come: 20 year HS reunion and more traveling before WDW and Cruise

Now, I am trying to get our house in moving/saleable condition. Not easy with the kids home, (we homeschool year round). By the way did I mention my husband works nights??!!

It sounds like I am not as busy as some of you though. Hope all of you are well and enjoying the rest of the summer.

Just a quick question: How did ya'll persuade your husbands and teens to dress up for pirate night? pirate: My family is a no go on dressing up.:sad2:

Have a great day.

My kids were thrilled to do it and I just told hubby that he will just wear a Pirates of the Carribean shirt and he said no problemo.

Hey everyone! Good News. Things are improving!

Hubby only had to take Tylenol for pain today. He still hurts but it is tolerable with occasional jabs. He thinks he may be able to sleep in the bed this weekend. (Now I have to go back to sharing!)

It still hurts to drive and ride in the car but the pain down the leg is gone. He does have pain in that foot though. Not sure if that is improvement or just different. He also isn't hunched over anymore. If you passed him on the street, you wouldn't know he was hurt.

I think we are a go barring any reinjury or setback which I am watching like a hawk! Thanks for all your support guys! Still not ready to do the limbo but think a cruise is just what the dr. ordered.:thumbsup2

Laxmom- Great to hear.:goodvibes Hope things progress smoothly.

I just booked our transportation to the Port from MCo with Sunray Transportation. With 10 of us going, it's a bit cheaper and we get a free 30 minute grocery stop to boot.

Anyone else ever used sunray?

No, but we are using FLTours. I can't remember where I found the recommendation. We can compare notes when we arrive.

Just bumping us up!

We're getting down to the wire now!:dance3: :dance3:

Laxmom, is your hubby feeling better?

I am getting excited again now that it looks like we are a go for our cruise! DH is still improving but not as quickly as last week. He is on Advil only now. He started sleeping into the bed over the weekend again. He is able to sit and work for about 20 minutes and then needs a break. Still hard to drive much and when riding, he has to recline his seat.

I asked Veranda Man to send him a post card from Mickey telling him to do as the Dr. Says. He studied that thing and wanted to know how DCL found out!:rotfl: I fessed up and had a good laugh. Now if he does something he shouldn't, I tell him that I am going to tell Mickey!

Ok guys, what will you be doing one month from today!?

I will be losing my mind!:lmao: This will be the first time we have left our DS with our newly married DS and DSIL. We have left the dogs with them but this time they get the 16 yo too! I'll be packing and cleaning so they have a clean house to start the week. I better start now!:rotfl:

Exactly one month from today (well September 4th is actually 31 days away) we will be getting to land at MCO airport for a fun-filled, heat-exhausting, sweat-inducing stay at the Poly :cool1: :lmao: So I guess we better be packed and ready to go 30 days from now or I will be the one running around like a chicken with its head cut off:rotfl:

rjeash, we will be checking into Coronado Springs on the 5th!!! The kids and I are leaving a few days earlier to "do" WDW before my husband and parents join us for the cruise.

Did you book your WDW stay seperate from your cruise?

Have a great weekend!!

Amy

Yes, I did book it seperately and save alot. How about you?

Hello Everyone!

ONE MONTH! Yay!! I don't know whether to be excited or nervous:eek: there are som many more thinhs to take care of.

We still haven't received our kids passports, don't know if I should get pirate gear for the party, dress up gear for the formal night, snorkel gear for the snorkel. Way too many decisions!:scared: My extended family is not really into the dress up part of things, they're a more spectator sort and they often wonder where I came from.

I will be bringing a tube of glo-bracelets(necklaces) if anyone is interested in having some for pirate night or any other night, just let me know. I can make the colors assorted, or go with one (yellow, orange, blue/purple, green, and pink). Maybe I'll bring two tubes (100 per tube).

COUNTING DOWN!!!!

It IS less than a month away! I sort of had August 9th as the one month mark, but its really not!

I got my DME tags for our stay the night before and already LOST THEM! DD's birthday party was yesterday, and in all the commotion, they have disappeared. So now I'm already stressing out!

I'm so jealous you guys are going to DW before your cruise...we have to wait until after the cruise. We're staying at the Poly for the first time, so I think it will be worth the wait. :cool1:

Even better start packing! ;)

Bumping this up, guys! We're almost at the one month mark! I'm so excited I could burst.

Ok, guys. Get this. My DH stops at my DS's friends house where DS is spending the night to see if he wanted to go with him to his chiro appointment and out to lunch when the friends dog took a bite out of DH's leg! It broke the skin in a several places but looks more like a rug burn. Luckily, dog is up to date on the shots. Has no prior history of this kind of thing.

So, we will be the ones on the cruise with DH strapped to a surf board with a bandage on his leg, just below the knee and dancing every dance as a slow dance. He says he will also have a name tag that reads "Loser!" (his words, not mine!) What a streak of bad luck! Poor guy. Not his month. He needs this cruise worse than I do!! Co worker said you guys might not want to cruise with us after all this; bad karma.

OMG! I'm sending you extra pixie dust.pixiedust: pixiedust:

Okay, so he needs to show up at the terminal with crutches, an arm in a sling and his head wrapped. This will ward off any more accidents, garner him some much needed sympathy and maybe a little extra TLC from the Disney CM's.

On second thought, maybe a wheelchair? Priority boarding and all that?

Kelley

Maybe I'll wrap him in bubble wrap!:lmao:

I'm glad it wasn't serious enough that we can't laugh about it.
