Hi everyone -

Just wondering if anyone who had booked a GTY cabin has had their cabin number assigned yet? We booked a GTY 12 and don't have an assignment yet. My travel agent says this is good, that the longer we go without an assignment, the better the chance of an upgrade. Just wondering about others' experiences.

We're getting so close, I'm so excited!!!

And congrats, Amy. You have me beat - this Friday is the one year DATING anniversary for me and my BF.

I'm so excited, I just talked to Shirley on the phone and ordered a basket for my boyfriend as a surprise! She's just as sweet as everyone says and is SO helpful!

Packing....... Well, I am putting that off to the last minute. Seriously. I can justify 3 outfits for a single day on vacation. If I pack at the last minute, I won't pack as much and still have more than enough clothes.

Who has received their documents yet? Have any of you filled them out online then printed them off?

I am planning of making copies of the front pages of the passports to carry with us off the ship for identification purposes, or do you think I should leave the copies in the room safe and carry the passports with us? What are ya'll doing?

No docs yet. I was told my TA and DCL to expect them 2-3 weeks before sailing, so that should be soon. I filled out everything I could on the website and printed the criuse contract to sign and take to check in. I filled out the Guest Info, Payment Authorization, and Flight Info - am I missing anything?

As for taking documents off the ship, I've never really thought to do that, other than a driver's license and cruise card. I guess it would be a good idea though. Personally, I would feel better taking a copy and leaving the passports in the safe. It's only one port, and it's the Bahamas, so I wouldn't be too concerned...but I guess its whatever you feel safest doing.

I wish these next few weeks would hurry up!

DW and I just got off the med 10 night for our 25th - what a ball!
Before I forget I am trying to nail down when the dis meet is....can anyone tell me?

Also - as for doc's - our experience - copy the passport....take your key to the world card and leave Everything else leave in the safe - except a little cash and a low limit credit card (mine is $500 for travel like this).

1. Meet 1 hour before the safety drill in the Promenade Lounge.
2. Did a meet and greet for 20-30 minutes
3. exchanged simple gifts from our areas - we brought uncirculated IN quarters and then we were off.
Able to greet folks the rest of the cruise and had little reminders as we came home of whom we had meet.

That is FANTASTIC!!! I have been playing on Photo Impact to make my DK's birthday t-shirts. I am now an addict!! I don't think I will "buy" the pre-done shirts again

So How about the DIS meet - I mean all we need to do is say yep lets meet - I am game for just showing up -

AWESOME magnets! DH is designing ours. Since it is our 25th, he put our wedding picture and another picture of us from our DS's wedding last year. Wow have we aged! I got to show him what you gifted people have done!

By the way, there is a great thread on "hurricane and 8/23 cruise". It has some great info and some fellow Dis'ers have posted their local phone numbers to Orlando in case any cruisers need help incase of weather. Just starting to get a little nervous with this first storm. But, hey, after the last 3 weeks, no storm would dare!

Also Hubby update. He is in active PT and off all pain meds except one ibubrofen in the am. The dog bite is also healing nicely. The puncture wounds are almost gone but he has a bruise that is huge! Didn't expect that. It runs from just below the knee to just above the ankle. The bubble wrap seems to be working.

But hey I like the responses....

_ They are just something from your neck of the woods.
_ some folks brought post cards - others little trinkets of a major manufacturer from their area or state....just something to say Hi!

Bonus? We had some fun little gifts to give our kids when we got home. Now for the folks who had there kids on the cruise the kids just got to enjoy them on the cruise.

I am taking the responses as a yes -
so here we go....now Kelley if accumulating the names and tags gets insane...it is only like 4 weeks away...just say so and we'll just do a meet and greet with whomever shows...

Hi Ben-
The other thread was started by us just to try to get a list of people going all in one place. Most of the regular posters on this thread have been added to that list - I try to update it as people send their info - but I don't think its everyone. It might be a little helpful to try to organize a DIS meet.

Kelley, I agree with Ben that if the name thing becomes a pain, we can just post a time, date, and place and whoever shows - great! From my experience though, it helps if you have some way to recognize each other.

Yes- I started making my list today. I am going by the list, as well as those who have posted. If the name isn't on the list I am just going to make the tag using the screen name, if that is okay with everyone.

If a spouse is listed, I will also do one for them. I had the idea to incorporate the avatars(?) on the individual tags, don't know how much time that may take. I may just have to do a generic clipart or if anyone has a preference just let me know.
