9/9/07 Wonder 4-day

What is the transportation cost like? We stayed at that hotel on one trip to Nassau - before the renovation. It was about a 20 minute cab ride from downtown, if I remember correctly.

We haven't scheduled anything for the day in Nassau yet. This will be our
4th trip there so I'm not even sure we will leave the ship. Would like to do beach but a quiet pool sounds good too!:)

From what I have read on the boards, it is $1 per person each way for the jitney.

That isn't bad. I just got to figure out what we want to do. For once, it is "what we want to do." No kids on this trip.:woohoo:

Just bumping. We're about to break the 2 month mark!!:woohoo: 2 months from today we will be waiting to board at this time!

 Is it really 2 months!? I gotta start packing! :rotfl:

Wow, I didn't realize it was sneaking up on us so quickly...last I remember it seemed like it was 3 months away. I guess we have so much between now and then, its hard to even imagine this trip FINALLY happening. We have DDs 3rd birthday party and she starts preschool in late August :guilty:. We are so excited though about this trip! I've planned it to death, so I hope everything goes well. I'm a little worried about hurricanes though...:sad2:

Hurricanes!?!?! What hurricanes?!?!? I won't have it, I say, I won't have it!!!:scared1: Rain is ok for the parks but not for the beaches. pixiedust: Here's for smooth sailing and bright days!:thumbsup2

As for your little one starting preschool, I know how you feel. It has been 7 years since my first born started preschool. It goes so fast. Now, I have a 5th grader, 3rd grader and my "baby" is going into 1st grade. Sometimes, I do miss the lazy days of not having to be anywhere at a certain time. Enjoy this time and hold them as much as they will let you. My 5th grade son will only let me snuggle him in the privacy of our home and my 3rd grade son prefers not have me kiss him at all - but he does give me the biggest, baddest hugs :cloud9:. My 1st grade daughter is the princess of the family and LOVES to snuggle me. I soak that up:love: :cloud9:

I need packing help! Our cruise is 4 days but I am packing like I'll be gone for a month.
I have managed to accumulate 14 shirts,10 shorts, far too many unmentionables to mention, and more dresses than I could wear.
I want to dress in comfort but I don't want to look like I do at home(sloppy).
I have also managed to pack every hygiene item that any body could possibly use in a lifetime.
Is there a dehydrator out there I could use on my items?

So, how is everyone doing? Getting excited yet? I have read my passporter to the point I have it memorized. I go on Disney Cruise site everyday to see how the boat is filling up(with passengers not water) and come on the boards at least once a day(more if the boss is away). Is there anything I have forgotten to check?

I haven't even thought of packing yet. Too much life going on before then with braces going on DS's teeth, root canal ( tomorrow am! Wish me luck!)and broken tooth repair for DH. Shoot, I am glad the cruise is paid for or I would not be able to afford to go!:rotfl:

I am getting excited! Yesterday I went and played the Podcasts on the cruiseline website and cried when I heard the horn. I have been working on our door magnet.

I checked a couple of weeks ago to see how the full the ship was booked but haven't checked lately. How is it looking? Are there upgrade possibilities still out there for some luck passengers?

I'm curious, too - is the ship filling up? Do they ever upgrade people who already have as assigned cabin number or just guarantees? I'd love to have a balcony (we've never cruise before without one) but we decided against it because of DD3. Of course, if it's free, I think we could manage!

Laxmom,
Root Canal!!! You have my total sympathy! Remember pain medicine-
GOOD! Braces-never had them but have heard that they are no fun either.

I don't think the ship is going to sail full (as of last night) based on my unofficial observations. I think,as of yesterday, only one category was sold out(11).

On the upgrades, based on what I have read here, it is totally random. I think those staying at a lower category would have a better chance of an upgrade-regardless of a gaurantee cabin or assigned.

Survived the root canal! Drugs...very good! I also wish I could have gotten nitrous to go!:thumbsup2 A little tender today but nothing Advil won't fix. Took heavy duty stuff yesterday just in case.

Our DS 16 just lost his last baby tooth. Now we can do braces. I feel bad for him but he really needs them.

Interesting news on the ship not filling up. That's what I observed when I looked a few weeks ago. Maybe the "H" word has scared some off. I really don't expect an upgrade but sure wouldn't refuse it if it was offered! We have been on a roll lately. We bought a getaway through our trading company with our timeshare for a trip to Aruba in June and ended up in an ocean front room. (there were only 12 out of nearly 500 rooms!) Luck like that rarely strikes twice. I feel lucky just to be taking my 2nd Disney cruise. So many people have never experienced it! They just don't know what they are missing.

Wow, Aruba! I always wanted to go.

Glad the root canal is over for you. I think root canal is the most painful experience in the entire world.

The rate the ship isn't filling up maybe everyone can get a suite! I call for one of the Cat 1's-the rest of you guys get to fight over the other one!:rotfl:

Yea, at least child birth pain comes and goes...

Put Aruba on your must do list. It was really an awesome trip.

I hope someone on our thread gets an upgrade. That would be so cool.

Does anyone know of anybody who has ever stayed in one of the suites? I told my DH that just once....... I just can't justify a whole years tuition at this point. Maybe when I graduate!:woohoo: Can you only book them on the phone with Disney? I have never seen one available online. They sure look nice though. Maybe someday. sigh.

Not a good week for us! Need you guys, and anyone you know, to pray for my DH. He hurt his back and is in a huge amount of pain. Can't walk, lays on the floor, and can't even sit. We went to urgent care and they prescribed some big drugs but that doesn't even relieve it 100%. He is having an MRI today but we aren't sure what the road holds him. Right now he can't even work and he offices at home. Of course, one of the things that is racing through my mind, along with a million other things, is our cruise. I may have to cancel. I will deal with that if and when it happens but boy that would be so dissapointing. I'm not sure if he can mend that fast! It is so hard to see him in so much pain. Please think good thoughts for us!

Thanks guys!

I hope your husband feels better, Laxmom. :goodvibes

Sending Pixie Dust to you and your family:wizard: !

You still have over a month to the cruise, there is still some time to see if he gets better.

This week has really been awful to you.

I am so sorry, I wish I could go over to your house and give you a huge hug.:grouphug:

They say things happen in three. 1st you had your root canal-2nd your son had to have braces-3rd your husband and his back. I guess that is your three strikes of bad luck. Which means three good things are around the corner!(at least that is what I tell myself when my world is awful).

Good Wishes!

Prayers and pixiedust: are coming at your from Olathe, KS. We hope to see you on the ship!:flower3:

Hugs and prayers from Illinois. Hang in there, it's always darkest right before the dawn or cruise as the case may be.

Thanks guys for your support. It really means alot to us. Told DH what you all said and he was amazed that people we don't even know would care.

Had the MRI and Dr. visit. He is improving....really GOOD drugs for him too!:woohoo: We will get the results of the MRI tomorrow. Dr. said he did not think the disc was herniated which means less recovery time. (insert dancing something here. I don't like the banana much.)

Man, we have to have a spell here that is calm and peaceful. I can't wait for this cruise!!! We'll be the ones slow dancing to every song.:lmao:

I'm glad he is feeling better. I hope he has good results from the MRI tommorow.

I am hoping for a calm spell for your family. You need it and deserve it.

DH herniated one disc and the one above it is bulged. We are going to treat him here where I work for a couple of visits to see his progress but he may have to see a neurologist/pain management Dr. Probably as bad as it could be. He is looking at a 6 week recovery at best.

I beleive in the things come in 3 thing and thank God that we are at three! "That which does not kill us, strengthens us! " At least that is what the Navy says.

We sure appreciate all the good thoughts. Please keep 'em coming. I will update when we see how he responds to treatment.
